We're just back. Brilliant week with the kids. Orkney is BEAUTIFUL :)
Brilliant tour, can we book Maddie as a personal tour leader?
I'm planning to go there for my holiday next year, can't wait!
We arrived yesterday to stay for 2 weeks, if you see us with our Irish Wolfhounds, feel free to come say hello 😁. We are right at the top and can see the lighthouse in the distance, only of a night though lol. It will be a fun 2 weeks of exploring for sure 💯
My great great grandparents were sandersons from south ronaldsay Orkney
I never knew Scots could be so cheerful.
The majority I have met have been nice. Just stay out of Glasgow 😝
Beautiful....😊
Omg I was in kirkwall about 3 months ago if I had only known
Very good video😀
Wow
7 dogs!
Nice place, thank you!
Just very nice
I’m coming in a few weeks, how cold is it? Will I see Orcas? Northern lights? How much was the shortest flight? Thanks for giving me a short tour
@@thesparewheel oh great! I can’t wait!
@@thesparewheel eh? surely not. £275.99?? 🤥
i checked this the other day ( i double-checked now) and Loganair says a return from Westray to Papa Westray is £7.25 return. 😆
@@mandymorgan8103 best way to fly until Aberdeen and take the ferry from there, like this is cheaper
Hey Maddie, I’ll be visiting in June 2023, any chance you can show me around? :)
you are so lucky😢😢
Is it good to experience there in early November?? To be precise next week???
Do you know how one can get from the cruise port to the distillery? Are their transportation options?
They’re very close together, just a short walk but I bet if you bring a map and someone who can guide you, you’ll definitely be there in no time
Love to nails ❤. Dobspato Newcastle Upon Tyne England.
My husband is a Miller. We did a DNA test and his origins are Orkney. So we are heading here when we do our UK tour next year! Maybe your his cousin 50 times removed haha
👍🏻👍🏻
I live in orkney
Oh nice. Does it get crowded in summer?
As much as Orkney is beautiful, I can't concentrate with all these jump cuts. Would it have hurt to just do another take?
They know what they're doing with that thumbnail
DOUNBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What about the witches off the North off Scottswod Pagens. Do people go missing by the witches then. It's very scary to here about 😮. Dobspato Newcastle Upon Tyne England.
This is probably a stupid question, but why is it so dreary and windy there?
Scotland is the windiest country in Europe due to eastward moving Atlantic depressions that bring strong winds and clouds continuously throughout the year.
Because it's Scotland 😅
The BBC has really let their standards drop.
Sourpuss wot?
Implying there were standards to start with.
I mean they had jimmy saville so I don’t think it’s fair to stay they’ve dropped because of this ..
@@XtreamSheep Very good point!

The Orkney Islands want independence?
Maybe if they discovered oil, the British government might be more supportive.
I also enjoy eating crayons
Hello shiteland ..Here I come
was it just me or.. ?
i expected a REALLY STRONG Scottish accent. but there was barely one at all. hmm. 🤨
not sure why i've always assumed the more northern (and/or west) you go, the stronger the accent.
side note: shame about the weather up there. otherwise, looks so uncrowded, unspoilt and underrated. #jealous
It's a BBC reporter...
@@ngs8022 what difference does that make?
still says she lives and grew up on Orkney, so i figured there would be more of an accent. that was all.
anyway, looks a beautiful place to visit (and live). would love to try that 2min plane trip some day.
Everyone thinks the Glasgow accent is everywhere in Scotland but it gets softer and softer as you go north until it sounds Norwegian in Shetland.
She doesn't really have an Orcadian accent in this video. If you want to hear an example, have a look at this video which explains some of the words in Orkney dialect... ua-cam.com/video/mmrjqKxBvYI/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ScotsLanguageCentre
@@hannahtaitx oh wow! i had no idea. 🤯
wasn't aware there were actually words specific to Orkney. the way other general words are spoken were more as I'd imagined them though. thanks for pointing this out.
definitely something new i've learned today.
boring
You move too fast. Also, too cutesy.
I heard orkney wanted to join norway. Ya'll better start studying norwegian 🥸
