Was looking for a great recipe for Mexican cornbread and found this one. Looks really good...im gonna use this recipe tonight. I see you use the honey sweet cornbread mix, from H.E.B., does it need to be honey sweet or was this your preference? Shopping at H.E.B. means you've gotta be a fellow Texan! 👊👊👊.
Totally a preference. The key is getting the cornbread recipe just right. Measure, but you can add in things like more cheese, other items like sliced vegetables. What you need to think about is the amount of extra moisture you will be adding. Perfect thought is, do not add moisture-rich ingredients to enhance the recipe.
Hi Gary. I live in Austin Texas. I believe you can find this package online. If not, I suggest buying a package of similar size. If it does not have the honey already added. I would say about 1 1/2 tbsp would work. I hope you really enjoy. This truly is a great recipe. All the best Gary. Sorry, it took me a little while to respond.
I believe in the post link in the description you'll find the from scratch recipe. Both recipes are pretty easy options . I feel like we both might agree. Homemade is best, packaged mixes (works in a pinch)
Fair, yet I do have a from scratch recipe in the link in the description for those that want to do everything from scratch. I would encourage you to revisit this recipe as it really is as good as it gets. I was lucky to learn this one from being a Chef. I only offer you great content. All the best....
@@butter-n-thyme Fair game...to be honest the addition of the corn and fresh ingredients makes this probably really tasty and no measuring involved to boot!
Thanks for calling out that you were using store bought corn bread mix in the first 20 seconds! Saved me 5 minutes by not watching the video! Good grief, you can’t make cornbread from scratch?
