thank for the video. when would you do the first pruning? i have a tree about 2 years old, about 8' high, should i start pruning now? will pruning encourage it to produce fruit sooner? thanks

Is it okay to prune for height in the summer ? Some small fruits are just starting to come forth . Thanks !

      Hello!
Thank you so much for your comment. We apologize for getting back to you so late.
Light pruning can be done throughout the year, but be careful as to not remove terminal branches (as you're then essentially, removing potential fruiting wood). To prune for height, prune the tallest branch one year, and the second tallest branch the following year until the desired height is reached.

      Thank you again!

How much can I cut off the top? My tree is older, has been around for a while and is about 18ft tall. We moved in recently and I would like to trim the tree and get more than 6 avocados a year, please advise.

thanks, i'll get out my cutters today. i have a couple of older trees and about 10 seedlings that are only a few months old. i'm keen to see if i can grow avocados here but i read that in warm climates, its essential that you have type A and type B trees close together to get pollination.
i would love to get some cuttings from a variety of type A and B trees and graft onto my seedlings but cannot find any here in thailand. is it possible that you could sell me some? thanks
