      that’s actually insightful when you think about it. it’s like how we are now seeing an influx of cases of cancer, it’s not that the cancer is increasing, it’s actually the use of newer technologies that are able to detect cancer easier than before.

    I got cancer in 2018. The chemo and the cancer did a number on me. I ended up disabled with what I remember someone calling "chemo brain", basically I had damage. I spent 40 years in the roofing industry prior to getting sick. I think another reason people sort of isolate is because they're embarrassed. I find it hard to say what I wish to share or say because it's hard to find some words at times. People have a short patience and treat you like you're stupid. I'm not stupid, I'm still Bob. Maybe, I forgot, maybe I use a wrong word. But I was and still am a kind man. I don't want pity, maybe just some courtesy. I'm here. It's lonely alot, but I have never been a quitter, and I will still be me. Thank you.

      It's funny how they mentioned Isolation as a factor, but does the study consider that some people are introverts and some extroverts? Only extroverts would suffer mental depression if isolated significantly. Also remember how doctors were pleading with us to isolate ourselves and go into lockdown during the Pandemic? Now they're telling us to socialize as much as possible. Ha! Yeah, until the next Pandemic right!? 🙄They can't make up their minds. So you do what's comfortable for you. Have a good day.

      Flu shots is nothing new. I've been getting them for over 20 years. I take it you also support trump? Because ever since he said vaccines are bad, all his little trumpets followed suit. It's people like you why kids are spreading illnesses, polio cases are rising, and why the flu will most likely cause more cases and deaths because you all believe flu shots and vaccines as a whole are not good for you.
      I have had four covid shots. That and socially distancing, and wearing a mask is why I still have not caught covid. I'm as healthy as ever. Those shots did nothing but helped me protect myself from covid.
      Of course, though, I'm wasting my breath with you all. You won't listen to science, but you'll listen to your dummy trump. 😅

      it's the lack of chewing. there's a lot of research showing that chewing itself is important to preserve the hippocampus part of the brain. take rodents teeth away, they get dementia, but give them artificial replacement teeth, they don't. might just be that handing food matter with the teeth is a large part of what the brain's built to do, and it atrophies if you don't challenge it to process food.

      In all seriousness, though - without having read the study, I suspect that one may be one of those instances of the media telling the truth but just not quite conveying the actual reality of the study. I suspect it may be correlative and not causative since people who take care of their teeth are likely to also have other healthy habits while people who don’t bother or who struggle to take care of their teeth are also facing other challenges that negatively impact their health.

    At the beginning, sitting for long periods of time adds to risk of dementia. That seems vague to me. If I'm sitting at my desk and challenging myself with learning, working on projects that interests me, playing challenging games that prove to prevent dementia, reading, etc. ....Now, sitting 12 hours and doing absolutely nothing is an issue.

    • @jasonito23
      @jasonito23 Місяць тому +7

      Learning and reading etc. is good but do you know that you use more brain activity reaching for a cup of coffee and taking a sip then reading a book. Physical exercise is the biggest prevention precaution for almost all health risks.

      If you can sit actively with the cranium and sacrum aligned on a vertical axis, sitting is not as harmful or the main cause of dementia. Poor posture when r sitting, standing, driving or exercising is the issue. Most people slouch when sitting and the head is forward on the spine which causes a restriction of blood flow to the brain leading to dementia. Brain cells need a huge volume of oxygenated blood flow. ua-cam.com/video/6axsgvm9m2Y/v-deo.html

      Getting the flu does a number on the elderly. The year that my 89 year old grandma skipped her flu shot because she didn´t want to wait in line she caught the flu, it changed to pneumonia and she passed. The flu puts the elderly out of commission.

    It is not the sitting but how we sit. Forward head carriage while sitting is the reason for dementia as it restricts blood flow to the brain which is only 5 % of the weight of the body but uses almost 20- 30 % of the oxygenated blood supply. Use an external keyboard so you can raise the screen to eye level by elevating the screen. Hips should be about 5 inches higher than the knee caps and the cranium ( back of the skull) should be aligned with the sacral bone at the base of the spine. When the body is misaligned breathing is restricted and people began to breathe in ways that make the head go more forward. Also keep a curve in the lumbar spine. I have spent 3 decades creating breath based posture correcting exercises that really work. ua-cam.com/video/6axsgvm9m2Y/v-deo.html

    Do you know how hard it is to make friends over 40 years old? It's extremely hard. So I don't even try. Most people are fake anyway, it's hard finding a real loyal friend. Most become your friends to get something from you, money, a place to stay, food...

There are many things to write here but anyone should know that It is indeed, one of many fates that's worse than death.

    My Godfather, God rest his soul never found anyone and didn't have any friends. He never got dementia from being alone. He lived to be 98 with excellent brain activity. He took care of himself and his home up until he died in his sleep. All these experts just think they know it all, they don't. Take this video with a grain of salt. Maybe these risks are factual but everybody's biological make-up, is different. Keep that in mind.
