- My washer fluid leak was where the filler neck meets the reservoir. There was an o-ring that I replaced.

Those plastic rivets at 1:20 can be removed by just pushing the pins through, I used a very small allen for instance. To reinstall them just push the rivet in first, and then press in that pin.
Thanks for this video, I followed it and fixed a slow leak on my 5 series.
In my case, similar to the case in this video, those are aluminum rivets, not plastic ones with a stopper in the middle. I guess I will have to file them off or drill them open. F10 520D.
Have same problem, thanks for the info
I pushed the center pin on the rivets in, but they can get lost in the fender well so would be good to buy some backups. Also, I put a small amount of vaseline on the o-ring to help it seat and seal. Finally, I put zip ties on the filler neck opening (between the reservoir and fill neck) to "clamp" it tight on to the o-ring. The plastic can fatigue and stretch a little. Not sure how much it helps but it is extra peace of mind.
My 2006 M5 leaked, mechanic fixed it. My 2015 M5 is leaking, will try to fix myself! Thank you!
I had the same issue in my 2018 X1. Put RainX and Shop Pro from AutoZone and they both leaked out in less than 24 hours. I lived with no washer fluid for a couple of months and came across a post on some BMW forum where the guy said it stopped leaking when he put BMW washer fluid. So I decided to try it and like magic it stopped leaking. The only explanation I have is that the BMW windshield fluid comes as a concentrate. Maybe their water to concentrate ratio makes it thicker? Perhaps? I don't know but I'm sure glad I didn't spend time and money on trying to fix it. It's been a week and I don't see it leaking. I will update this post if it starts leaking again. Worth a try. It was a $6 fix
Thanks man
Thanks a lot 🙏
Size ring 25mm/2,5mm=25/30mm
Thank you!!!!
Do you remember what the thickness of the new o-ring was?
7/8 ths.
I have an X5 and the windshield washer fluid leaks once I use it. I can have a full container until I use it. What do you think it is?
my washer fluid (BMW X5 E53) started to leak after I had my BMW serviced in the authorised BMW servis 😂 they exchanged me one front Xenon light + igniting sparks, since then it takes 14 days and my full washer fluid reservoir is completely empty, they fu.ked something up during exchange!!!
Hey, I have the same washer fluid leak, could you give me the exact dimensions? I am from Europe, I understand that 1inch = 25mm? Which CS or OD dimensions i need?
In size 25mm/2,5mm=25/30mm
Can you provide the dimensions of the O-ring?
Where did you buy O ring from?
Local hardware store
Man what happen to the JB 4?
I made a video on it
I would guess that a BMW uses metric dimensioned O-rings vs. imperial sized O-rings -
You think it be the same for a 2016 m4?
I am not sure of that
God forbid you drive in the rain
