Recall how bad the Pats made the 2010 Bears defense look in a raging snowstorm in Chicago, after Moss had already been released. The Rams had a good 3 year offensive run from 1999-2001, but they couldn't maintain it. They carried the SB hangover into 2002 and never really got their offense in gear after that.

Every single one of those offenses scored more points and had a higher percentage of drives ending in an offensive score than the 2000 Rams. I know not everything is about stats, but at the end of the day scoring points is what offense is all about. I guess you could argue that the game evolved over time, but that still leaves us with the 98 Vikes.
That offense is really the air Coryell offense of 20 years ago, which put up similar numbers. You can't have success with it unless you have talent at wr,qb,rb,and old. The downside is it doesn't control the ball to run out the clock and rest the d.
1995 Detroit Lions. 4000 yard passer ( Scott Mitchell ). 1500 yards rushing ( Barry Sanders ) and two 100 catch receivers ( H. Moore and B. Perriman ). This team gets no love because they didn't make it to the Super Bowl but that was one of the best offenses ever. Also don't forget the 1998 Minnesota Vikings. Randy Moss was unstoppable.
I remember that Lions team. They started 3-6 then won their last seven to make the playoffs. During that win streak their offense was absolutely explosive. Then of course they got annihilated in the wild card round by the Eagles, but even in losing they put up 37 points.
The Ravens had a really great D. Although Kurt Warner proved himself in the first game against the Ravens. His worse game was that NFC championship against Tampa.
We will never see a Team in Sinc like this again . And I'm not saying this because I'm a Fan . The Smarts from The Coaching staff and smart players , chemistry, timing, heart, discipline. You name it the Rams had it. We proved you can be a pass 1st team with a whenever we wanted to Run Mentality. The Rams Changed Football . This is why teams go for High Reviving yards as a total team because the Rams used to Detroy teams with Bruce, Holt, Akim , Prohel and Faulk getting 100 yards each and our Defense was Super Solid. Isaac Brice did all that on a Blown Hamstring Dog .
People try and say the 2007 Pats and the 2013 Broncos as better offenses but the difference is the Rams won the Superbowl the year they set records. The 2007 Pats and 2013 Broncos lost in the Superbowl. They also bring up that Warner only had 41 TDs while Brady and Manning had 50 and 55 respectively but the Rams actually had run game as well. Marshal Faulk was a beast on the ground. Also when you think of the Pats and Broncos you only think of their ONE year. The Greatest Show on Turf was MULTIPLE years.
The Greatest Show 2.0 is here! Head coach, QB, RB, WR's, O Line are all great. They have no weak spots on offense. Defense is also filled with first-round picks and pro bowlers and has the potential to be elite when healthy. Rams 2019 Super Bowl champions
i remember we were jumping up and down hugging so excited at the win (I’m from STL area but was away at college in New Orleans), I fell into and broke our TV stand but gratefully not the TV 😂😂😂
... and probably your parents were in diapers when the 1984 Dolphins scored 70 TD's, 3 more than the 2000 Rams, which BTW, same year Marino threw for over 5000 yards, so...
Austin Unknown nah man I was only 9 for this game but I still know that both those pats teams and broncos as well were a better offensive unit. They were good for their time but just not compared to the other two
I grew up on this team. The first Super Bowl I ever watched was the 2000 Rams championship. I was only 11 at the time. Still remember that last play. Amazing game
The 2000 Rams that had Az Hakim in the slot was the most explosive offense in the history of the NFL. Holt, Bruce, Hakim and Marshall Faulk out of the backfield. Just too much speed to defend.
STL deserves another franchise man. When the rams were winning there was no better atmosphere than the dome. You just had to be there. That being said I enjoyed the GSOT era and was so fortunate to be apart of it! Faulk, Bruce, Warner, Vermeil and Holt! I thank y’all for the memories!
Az Zahir Hakim was the glue to that team. His ability to take the top off a defense with his blazing speed opened up the underneath for Holt and Bruce on slants, for Proehl on possession routes and for Faulk and separation on screens. They jettisoned Hakim and they jettisoned their offense.
About two years later, coach Vermeil landed in nearby Kansas City. He turned that offense into a historically dominant offense, too. A run-based offense with great offensive line play. Probably the best power running team I've ever seen.
2003 was the last good team of the "greatest show on turf" era. Had they beaten Carolina in the divisional round, there might have been another Super Bowl appearance.
Even their coach was a genius. Such a well coached, well run, insanely talented team. The fact Kurt just stepped in and balled out is so insane. This rams team would fit in perfectly with today’s game.
As a 49ers fan seeing the destruction up close the only teams that are close 98 Vikings, Brady 07, Manning Broncos team, Mahommes teams but they didn’t have a RB Faulk that guy would destroy any hope of winning running 8 yds or 15 yds on slants it was incredible. They annihilated teams Faulk made them unfair. 89 49ers are the only comparable team set pts SB record. RB Craig was similar to Faulk.
I think the 98 Vikings edge the Rams in a shoot out. Randall Cunningham and Robert Smith along with Jake Reed, Chris Carter and Randy Moss..... It would have been must see tv...
They were so dominant that most fans nationwide completely overlooked the Falcons that season who were just as good. Not near as exciting but were awesome. If they played that NFC Championship 10 times it would be split down the middle. It’s a shame that the 1998 and 2000 Vikings didn’t get to the super bowl.

I know not everything is about stats, but at the end of the day scoring points is what offense is all about. I guess you could argue that the game evolved over time, but that still leaves us with the 98 Vikes.
I love Michael Ironsides doing the voice for this video.
Yeah its pretty cool hearing Sam fisher talk about football
He has a great voice
Holt and Bruce my dudes
Xoaks Torry Holt is my cousin
Imagine a division rivalry between the legion of boom vs the greatest show on turf
too bad the Seahawks were in the AFC at the time
5:18 that play made me shed a tear it's so beautiful...
That offense is really the air Coryell offense of 20 years ago, which put up similar numbers. You can't have success with it unless you have talent at wr,qb,rb,and old. The downside is it doesn't control the ball to run out the clock and rest the d.
Redskins fan, here. I've been watching football since 1974. I've got to say the most potent offensive I saw was the old Sand Diego Superchargers.
Air Coryell was amazing! Rules weren't as offensive friendly in the early 80's as they were for the Rams, Patriots, Broncos and Saints!
What the hell NFL Films? Why did you end it there? The final score wasn't 17-3, the Rams scored 14 points unanswered to tie it up.
Late asf reply but exactly! Wheres the love for our almost comeback
@@brandonmcduff no such thing as an almost comeback, you either win or you dont
@@iamlegend5373 It's important because the following drive by Brady is what began their dynasty. But yeah you're right.
No dynasty if not for stolen signs. But hey...he keeps bouncing back with any situation. Now at bucs
@@gordonreed2736 ahahahaha. still salty after all these years. if ya ain't cheatin', you ain't competin', friend-o!
That whole Marshall Fault interview sequence at 9:56 💀💀”New ball game now”
I remember this!! Great football team. Great offensive mind that Mike Martz. Great time to be a Rams fan!!
If Bruce didnt have a hamstring problem early on in his career, I think he wouldve had an even greater career.
"The greatest show on turf" sounds like a high school football movie
13:19 Well, he wasn't wrong...lol
Abhi Gundu lol he had no idea
that is the best quote caught on camera!
He was right but it was the pats LOL
Mahdi Knicks NOOOO REALLY?!? Literally none of us caught that dude lmao
Biggest eat your words moment in my life
1995 Detroit Lions.
How many yards could a good QB have got with that team?
I remember that Lions team. They started 3-6 then won their last seven to make the playoffs. During that win streak their offense was absolutely explosive. Then of course they got annihilated in the wild card round by the Eagles, but even in losing they put up 37 points.
My Bucs was the only Defense at that time that could match up against Rams. Those were some great games! Bucs vs Rams
Bucs and maybe Steelers.
The Ravens had a really great D. Although Kurt Warner proved himself in the first game against the Ravens. His worse game was that NFC championship against Tampa.
Greatest show on turf !
Damn straight. And from all the interviews and pieces ive seen, Kurt Warner seems like a real cool dude. He deserves all the success hes had.
I didn't watch the NFL until 2001 so it has always been weird for me when the Patriots weren't in the super bowl lol
I'm a die hard Falcons fan and the 2016 Falcons offense was deadly but this is the best offense ever. Hands down
LOL Falcons
Yella Boii lol what a joke... don't even mention that "2016 Falcons" choke in the super bowl.
Them boys were boo boo. 25 points lol. They were the biggest disaster in sports history. Matty ice turned into Maddie Price.
except the 2016 Falcons offence only plays 3 quarters of the game then they kinda just die
99 and 01 Rams offense was unreal..them 98 Vikings were pretty damn amazing also
The Rams 01 defense was pretty killer too (3rd in league)
OllieBlazin Broncos had 2015 as well. Pats had other good seasons.
Rodney Harrison broke more legs in his career than any mobster that ever lived
Rodney Harrison just wanna say Thankyou Rams don't become what they are with Green at QB they would have been good but not the GSOT
love your avatar icon, mate.
Man if they had not torn the team a part, you would have never heard of Tom Brady! This is the greatest team in history!
This is the team that really got me to first start watching the NFL
The Greatest Show 2.0 is here! Head coach, QB, RB, WR's, O Line are all great. They have no weak spots on offense. Defense is also filled with first-round picks and pro bowlers and has the potential to be elite when healthy.
Rams 2019 Super Bowl champions
xSavagery we will win a championship next year. This year was an experience we needed .
Well this aged poorly
That was a great SuperBowl🏈
I really liked the Rams and the Titans 🏈
i remember we were jumping up and down hugging so excited at the win (I’m from STL area but was away at college in New Orleans), I fell into and broke our TV stand but gratefully not the TV 😂😂😂
LOL@ all the kids in comments saying 2007 Pats and 2013 Broncos were better. Most of you were probably in diapers when the GSOT was around.
I was in diapers but luckily for me I studied this offense and I was amazed with the stats they had
Austin Unknown. Yup by 07 more rules were implemented in favor of the offense.
GSOT lost on turf though.
... and probably your parents were in diapers when the 1984 Dolphins scored 70 TD's, 3 more than the 2000 Rams, which BTW, same year Marino threw for over 5000 yards, so...
My squad til this day 🐏 🏆 ‼️Marshall faulk my favorite player of all time
Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce... I used to love watching them as a kid
The 2000 Rams that had Az Hakim in the slot was the most explosive offense in the history of the NFL. Holt, Bruce, Hakim and Marshall Faulk out of the backfield. Just too much speed to defend.
And that's with Faulk and Warner missing time that season with injuries. That 2000 rams offense was ahead of it's time.
The closest we've seen since was Hunt and Hill and Mahome.
Don't forget Ricky Proehl too
Marshall Faulk changed the RB position forever.
This makes me proud to be a rams fan
That hit on Trent Green was filthy.
They also made some questionable draft picks - Trung Canidate, and Eric Crouch for example.
Stephen H Trung Candidate was a 99 in speed. According to Madden 2004.
yeah, they kept Leonard Little over Hakim. I knew that was a mistake.
Every SB opponent the Pats had from the Rams to the 17/18 Eagles said that the Pats taped their practices.
Bruce and Holt were the Hakeem Olajuwon of domination.
They had HOF players at QB ' RB ' both receivers ' Orlando Pace ' Hell of a offense it was must see T.V
About two years later, coach Vermeil landed in nearby Kansas City.
He turned that offense into a historically dominant offense, too. A run-based offense with great offensive line play. Probably the best power running team I've ever seen.
Max pro bowl John Madden 21 covid-19 interview pro bowl game.
2003 rams were amazing too
2003 was the last good team of the "greatest show on turf" era. Had they beaten Carolina in the divisional round, there might have been another Super Bowl appearance.
13:19 "Tonight a dynasty is born"
6:17 Isaac Bruce 💙
13:20 Kurt was right... more than he knew.
Now in 2020 the Kansas City Chiefs "legion of zoom" is the greatest offensive performance ever witnessed
It’s a shame that the 1998 and 2000 Vikings didn’t get to the super bowl.
they scored more points than the Rams. but I guess the Rams made it look so easy.
The 2000 Vikings didn't have a chance against the Giants. If I'm right, they were shutout in that championship game.
My dad had season tickets for the rams during these days now we live in Kansas City and now he’s watching mahomes and the chiefs offense...
Greatest show on turf. One of my favorite teams of that era. I use to play with them in Madden all the time.
