    That last statement is why Mack Brown is the greatest coach in college football. Not only is he creating leaders on the field, he's creating leaders in the world.

    As a SC fan I’ll remember a game of what could’ve been. However that Texas team was something special and that was probably the best championship game I’ve ever seen. As a SC fan you felt helpless watching Vince Young move that ball on the final drive, a team of destiny. What a game.

    • @txhansolo22
      @txhansolo22 2 роки тому +7

      Texas fan here, i think if you played that game 10 times it would be 5-5. these teams were so evenly matched yet completely different in overall style. it came down to a few plays as it usually does. people put too much emphasis on Vince Young's performance but to me it was the three big defensive plays that won it for Texas, the INT and the 4th and 1 stop in the first half and that big 4th and 1 stop with 2 minutes to go. Carroll made the right call, go for it with a power lineup and White. people fault Carroll for having Reggie Bush on the sideline on that play but he's simply not a between the tackles runner like White was. right call, right formation. Texas just made the play. without that VY doesn't get back on the field and SC gets 3 in a row.

    I am a die hard USC Fan and I have never seen this until today. I was at this game and it broke my heart when we lost, However after hearing Mack Brown I am glad we not only lost to a great team but a class act in the texas coach. His words of life
    wisdom are words to live by for everyone!!! My total respect to the Texas coach Texas Football team and fans, which were class acts outside of the stadium. we new it would take a great team to beat us and that is what Texas was phenomenal god bless.

      actually, he did. if needed and warranted. Brown was no pushover with players, he was the coach and made it stick. he booted Ramonce Taylor off the team the year after he helped UT win the national title. he refused to allow an All-America tackle to play in his last game at Texas because he was failing his classes. Brown had already announced he would resign. he could have left anyone play but stuck to his principles and didn't.

    Mack Brown is the best coach in D1 football. Not only does he field consistently competitive teams, the man is nothing but classy.
    Can't think of any other D1 coach who would have the presence of mind in such a situation who would tell his kids that he hopes this isn't the best moment of their lives, just one of them, and what he expects of them after leaving the University.
    An extraordinary man leading a world class team. God bless him and his Longhorns.

    • @stevenjones2570
      @stevenjones2570 3 роки тому

      The best maybe not by national titles but by the quality and character of the man he’s the epitome of a class act. Quick story I played high school ball with an absolute beast of a man 6’4” 295 pounds with 11% body fat he ran a 4.48 40 bench pressed 575 and squatted 900 he looked like he was literally grown in a lab to play ball. He committed to Texas junior year and in the state championship our senior year he had 9 sacks in the first half the second half started with the other teams guard standing him up and the center crashed his knee which absolutely wrecked his knee the drs told him he’d never play again. Most college football coaches would have cut bait and gotten that scholarship back but Mack brown honored this young mans scholarship and though was never the player he once was he was on that national championship team. Coach Brown did not have to do that but he is above anything a class act and the man has had my respect ever since... we should have never gotten rid of coach brown bc football is more than wins and losses it’s teaching young men as he said to be role models and leaders that’s what cfb is sorely missing a coach that genuinely cares

    Texas had a ridiculous amount of talent this year. I mean they even had Jamaal Charles arguably the best running back in the NFL as of right now, are you kidding me? Lol Not only a lot of talent but a lot of these guys are STILL playing at a high level. You don't see that often.

    You obviously missed the entire point of my post...it's not just about on the field results. Stoops focuses on the football...particularly running up the scores, and gets players who get embroiled in scandals reflective of their ethics (rather than just having too much fun in Austin or texting while driving).
    Stoops has a lot of wins over lousy Big 12 teams but he can't beat Texas for the life of him nor win a BCS game. He has lost 5 BCS games in the last 6 years...Big Game Bob strikes again.

    no way dude. bama's run game tore you're defense to shreds and we basically didn't have our starting qb cause he was playing on 2 broken ribs. We played tougher teams in a tougher conference. if mccoy had stayed, it would've been a completely different ball game. unlike a lot of low-life fans, i have respect for texas and mccoy and i'm a bama fan.
