- Stirling! I see so many people making this city their second priority right after Edinburgh when visiting Scotland, but why is this, and is it worth your time if you're not quite sure whether you want to dedicate one of your hard earned days off to this bijou Scottish city?
In this video we visit all of Stirling's major attractions, fly around them to give you a fancy bird's eye view, and even do a little tour of Stirling's amazing coffee shops.

Extra video about Stirling area coming to Patreon in a handful of days!
Not that there is much to do in Falkirk yet its just 10 mintues away from Stirling and is easy to take in and visit at the same time, used to be called "Stirlingshire", I live in the centre, if you've been in the high street here while visiting the Kelpies you may have saw this little church and yard I made a little video about , William Wallace best friend is burried here along with some of his commanders, its practically my garden, loads of folk don't know about it, up the hill from here is the Antonine wall (Rather what is left of it) the old Northern most point of the Roman empire, there is a big mansion (now open to the public I think) and park with woodlands and a lake (was an old Roman reservior) It's the place where the company that made Irn Bru started out, Falkirk wheel is here ua-cam.com/video/u09NhxZuZG8/v-deo.htmlsi=EKLHfBM7_5Eed3kY There is often a market and other things going on in the high street. Not sure 48 hours worth of things to see and do yet for folk who like the quiet and a bit of history, there are thousands of years of it here.
This is a great “must do” planning. Loved it. Also, I love the evolution of your video’s. The drone footage mixed with the artsy shots, absolutely love it. ❤
Superb! Now, you must go to Dunblane - on a warmer day; and walk back to Bridge of Allan on the Darn Road, for yet more pleasures...
Oooooh maybe we have done, maybe we have done (**winks and points toward patreon page**)
i studied abroad at stirling from the US four years ago, i have never clicked on a video so quick!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Does it still look the same as it did when you studied there? .)
practically the same, it makes me want to go back !
Stirling is beautiful and gorgeous and historical. Thank you so much for doing this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The Glasgow Necropolis called, it wants its 'Scotland's Most Scenic Cemetery' award back 😂
With those Stirling mountain views, Necropolis would have to pry the award from Stirling Cemetery's cold dead hands!!!
Those drone shots tho 🤤 Great video as always 🔥🙌
I definitely preferred Stirling castle to Edinburgh castle, but I think you have to be a history nerd to really appreciate what Stirling castle has done! 😄 We ended up walking around with the guide (after the tour) for an hour, and just looking at all the tiny amazing details ❤️
Also; There seemed to be so way fewer people visiting Stirling castle, so not as overcrowded 🤭
My top castle recommendation is Craigmiller castle in Edinburgh though! That one is so special and beautiful 😍
I’ve been thinking I should pay Stirling another visit soon so this video is perfect for me. Thank you for lots of inspiration.
The drone is a game changer, aye
Stirling is my favourite place in Scotland. Visit every time I'm over there. Castle is much better than the Edinburgh war museum castle
That's because Stirling is/was the capital of the Highlands so should have a lot more historical value compared to the lowlands of Edinburgh
Totally agree. And the garden area in Stirling Castle is very beautiful too!
@@HootMaRootThe capital of the Highlands is Inverness, not Stirling. To claim that Edinburgh has less historical value than Stirling is honestly delusional.
I live in the North East, about an hour North of Inverness, and although I absolutely love Stirling, I wouldn’t consider it to be so different from “the lowlands of Edinburgh.” I mean, they are only a 50 minute drive apart.
Excellent, high-quality video. Now I want to visit Stirling.
Thanks for the video! I was planning to visit Stirling in August and this made up my mind that it's a must-see.
Nice one. You missed the Church of the Holy Rude with Scotland's largest pipe organ... I suppose because it's closed to visitors off season, much to my disappointment when I went to visit recently.
Your videos are always good - full of information and humour. And Stirling really is great. My wife was born in Airthrey Castle, Bridge of Allan (it is now part of Stirling University) and our niece did here first degree at Stirling. I enjoyed your guide.
Glad you enjoyed the video .) always nice reading such kind words about our work!
They found a knight buried in the chapel. After a lot of analysis they found out he was English, then they identified him because they found the letter from the castle commander to the knights mother at the national archives.
The building behind you at the beginning was just restored a few years ago ago.Linlithgow Palace is worth a visit as well and has great views over the loch and lots of lovely old buildings in the town.
Amazing video, breathtaking views...thank you so much!
Beautiful. I really enjoyed my visit to Stirling a few years ago, and again enjoyed this virtual visit :)
not me watching the part with the doggo five times 😅
One has to savour a doggy cameo!
If you go into the thistle shopping centre there is a hidden gem in the form of a dungeon...
My home city 🙌🏼💚
No need for that green heart
You always do a fantastic job of capturing the essence of a place Kat. I have added Stirling to the list for future travels. Those views...the drone shots...im sold!
Also, can I suggest Inverness for purely selfish reasons ha ha!
I shall put it on my list! Inverness is lovely! .)
Love the video
I really like these travel vlogs. Do you have any plans to go up into the highlands - Braemar or Inverness or a tour up the east coast; Perth, Dundee, Montrose, etc?
I'd love to! So far we've only really done a big video trip around the NC500, Dundee, some of Fife and bits around Glasgow, but Perth, more in-depth video about Inverness and more are on the list! .)
Great video! 👍 I love your handbag 😍
Excellent video and location. Thank you so much👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for a great video, I was born and raised in the Stirling area but now live in West Wales but get back to Scotland for occasional visits every year.....a well researched and filmed post, thank you again.......
We arrived in Stirling with no plans or reservations in August, 2001. Using a basic road map that had some landmarks highlighted we saw the sights, including the Mel Gibson statue. We all, including our 7 year old daughter, had a wonderful time. I'd love to go back.
I spotted the LGBTQ+ flag above the entrance gate to the castle! Well done, Stirling! And some Alice Oseman books in the coffee shop including Heartstopper!
Not well done at all. Sickening.
What an amazing place 😮❤ the video was so good, love the music and the photography 🎉 you killed it 😊
Stirling was stunning! And so glad to hear all the work that went into the video is appreciated :3
I happened to stay in Stirling for a year during 2011/12 for my postgraduate degree from the University of Stirling. That was a lovely experience there. I still cherish the memories of my stay in Stirling.
Birds and Bees and Settle Inn are the two best pubs, that I personally loved, for hanging out and socialising after a hectic work day, The nachos at the Birds and Bees are really awesome.
Burgh Coffee House, supposedly in the Stirling city centre, is the best place I found in case you want to quickly catch up with someone.
Thank you for sharing all these tips! .) Glad you had a great time studying there!
They filmed the Colditz TV series at Stirling Castle.
I live in Stirling! Very impressive footage. Do you mind me asking what camera and drone you're using? The richness of the shots is quite distinct!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤awesomeness
We live in Canada and just got tickets to see Shania Twain at Stirling Castle this July❤❤
Next time you are in Stirling look for a restaurant called Brea. Wonderful local food.
hi! I like your videos! As an idea what to show, maybe suburbs of Glasgow? I mean, Giffnock, Clarkston, Rouken glen park and Whitelee windfarm? This place is so awesome I can't believe nobody filmed it yet properly. It is not like anything in Scotland - white pretty houses and american-dream atmosphere
I was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to do, definitely worth a visit :) Where else would you like us to visit?
I love Hermann's. I don't think the menu has changed in 50 years.
Watching this now. So beautiful! What device are you using to shoot video? The picture quality is fantastic! Thanking you in advance! I follow you through my husband’s account. He’s from Edinburgh, but we live in Montreal, Canada.
Thanks for watching! Kat shoots with a Sony A7s mark 3, with 20mm, and 24-240mm lenses. We shoot aerials with a DJI mini 3 pro. Kat shoots almost all b-roll, and I shoot the interviews and aerials :)
@@simonmountney Thanks so much for the info! Now, I can prove to my husband that your work isn’t being shot on an iPhone!
Stirling Castle in much more interesting tha Edinburgh Castle, due to the informations and internal environments that we can visit.
I see they've fixed the monument stairs. When I went up they were the originals and badly worn.
That must have been quite worrying!
@@Kakibot it was worse coming down.
We hope to make a day trip to Stirling from Edinburgh (have a daughter at uni there) in April, but, want to add a stop in Culross. Do you think that’s doable, using public transportation?
I live in the area. It would be difficult to do in a day. If you were going from Stirling you could get the train to Alloa, then change for the Dunfermline bus, which is about once an hour during the day. It's only about half an hour on the bus from Alloa but the problem would be coordinating the bus and train. The Traveline Scotland website is good and will show you bus and train times. If you want to see the area properly it's best to stay for a few days.
48 hours in Stirling? Did you miss your train home or something? 😀
Ouch 😅😂
It's a wonderful place, I would happily move there!
Another great video, amazing cinematography, great music choice and great recommendations!
Loved the random dog at the end 🤣🐶
Somehow they just love to socialise right when I’m in the middle of a shoot! .D
How can anyone spend 48 hours there?
We managed! Lots to do :)
Easily. Have you actually been there? 😂
