I love that line of Margaret Dutton to Elsa: "I'd love to see the world through your eyes again, but one day you'll see the world through my eyes and it breaks my heart." Her prediction did indeed come true, several times.
I loved the line where Elsa was watching her mother, Margaret, on horseback herding cattle and saw her as a woman and not only as her mother and said, “she was magnificent!”
I've never cared for characters more than I cared for the ones in 1883. Such a perfectly cast series that was wonderfully written and executed both behind the camera and by the cast! I wish Taylor Sheridan treated all of his characters in Yellowstone the way that he treated them in this show!
I can't escape the feeling that modern sensibilities are being displayed here and not those of an actual 1883 mindset. Of course, I suspect that it is almost impossible for modern writers to be able to imagine the way the minds of 1883 immigrants and Americans traveling West across the Plains actually worked and how they viewed the world.
I think a proper writer could imagine the minds of 1883 immigrants, but it would make less of a dramatically captivating and relatable story I think. I think the writers here found a perfect middle ground. It feels proper for the time its set in but still recognizable and relatable for modern audiences, at least that's how it felt to me.
Sam Elliott IS 1883. He's the reason why I sat through this horrible show. I think a lot of people feel the same. His acting was better than everyone else.
Oh my Dog! Elsas character is 'independent!' In 1883, in a family of some means, and (even though the writers are 'woke' enough to omit it) Christian values, 'Independent' Elsa decides to initiate sex with the 'cow poke' Ennis, then inform her mom that she doesnt 'regret it.' Dont worry though, she'll practice her newfound skill on a COMMANCHE BRAVE about 10 days later, and HE will blow off his Heritage and insult the eligible women of his tribe by bringing home the now topless and braided Elsa!
I had great expectations for this show since Sam Elliot was in it, but I was very disappointed with it and cancelled my Paramont+ subscription right after the show ended. It felt rushed to me. It started with 60+ immigrants and after 10 episodes there were less than a dozen still alive.
It took me like 3 days to watch an episode because it was so boring and I kept falling asleep. I kept watching as it dragged on, hoping it would get better. I hope they don't make another season and focus on Yellowstone. This show had a lot of potential but they killed off some of the fan favorites ( Not trying to do spoilers for those who aren't caught up)
I love the always "I canceled my subscription because the show sucked" talk.Very pathetic. Rushed? So your idea of a story is 80+ episodes dragged through multiple seasons? The reason this show is so good is because it tells the story and nothing else. No unnecessary characters just to prolong the story. If you feel it is rushed, stick to "Game of Thrones" and its 3000 characters.
people are so used to marvel films and transformers, they dont know good story anymore, they dont understand character development and cant watch shows wiithout much action and are slower paced

You kinda answered your own question there, not that I disagree with you at all
I loved that show!!!
Best series I have ever seen! Best actors Best everything!
I have no sound...all my volumes are on and up to max.
This looks like a great show I wish I had streaming capabilities.
Go old school. Buy the DVD set. That's what I did, because I didn't want to sign up for the channel just for this show.
Will there be anymore seasons??
Well I’ll be damned, that ain’t Shea, that’s the infamous Beau Bennet, just check the stache, it’s him I tell ya
Great Sam Elliott is in this show
Freedom is a choice and it has fangs.
Were talking awesome here. Connager was great but this Sam Elliot took acting to it's limits.and I can't say enough about the other cast members

you guys have low attention spans and all you expect is action all the time,, you probably thought the Godfather was boring with that attitude
