Yay vacoped user here just went on my physio and they change me to level 2. I've got minimal Achilles ruptured and it's on my 5 weeks..road for recovery 🎉
I have a near high grade tear and on a hard cast. I am desperately hoping to transition to walking boot as 4” heel ( on my heel of cast to keep my toes downward) next week. it will take a long time for my running condition back. I am just curious, with strengthening stitches, is your tendon rupturing chances higher? I am assuming no as you got reinforced tendon now
Hi!! I am sorry to hear about your injury and you got this! I am not a medical professional but I am not too sure about my chances D: But I have been just trying to focus on the positives and mobility/ stretching work
Thank you and certainly! It was 7 weeks post-surgery when I had my hard cast removed. While I could limp or walk with the support of a boot, I didn't truly increase my walking until around weeks 11 to 13. By week 13, I made the transition from the boot to regular walking shoes and have been on my feet ever since. Now, having just crossed the 5-month mark, I believe I still need more time before I can run; currently, running isn't an option for me.
Thankyou so much for this, I just ruptured my Achilles tendon 17 days ago and have had the surgery a week ago. And I can tell you just the early stages that it's probably the most painful injury I've ever faced.
Just go vacocast, had airboot for first 5 or 6 weeks. Airboot is way lighter and smaller, easier to use. But vaco is way easier to walk on and very comfy. Foot feels more restes in vaco so its probably better for healing. My question is how did you adjust the articulation amount each week and when( not angle of foot) Where is the documentation for vaco non surgury approach?
Hi! Thx for the video. I’m going to buy the VACOped but I’m between sizes. For my ankle and calf circumference I’m a M but for my foot length I’m a shoes size 12 which means size L. If I buy the M my toes might stick out 1/2”. In your experience do you think having my toes stick out 1/2” is a big deal? Thx.

Thank you. How long did it take you to start running/walking after cast removal?
