Thank you for this video. I’ve been wearing my Vacoped for a week and I’m 3 weeks out of Achilles surgery. The doctor’s aid put on the vacoped but didn’t explain the how to’s. This video was really helpful and allowed me to properly put on the boot now that I can wash the wound and foot.
Thanks a lot for this Video. Mine was set up completely wrong by the hospital. Had the flat heel on and was set to 20%. Was wearing this now for the initial 20 hours after the accident 😢
Excellent video thanks and has cleared up my confusion regarding the angle change. Other videos have shown the top lock moving down with the lower lock
I can not tell you how glad I am you've uploaded this video. I've been searching for three weeks now for a clear video on my questions about "plantar flexion" and "30°" I know what these are but thanks for a clear visual that my foot has indeed been put in the right position to heal well. On week 3 now. Thanks ever so much!🥳massive weight off my shoulders. And breathe🪷
Excellent video. Might be a good idea to make this compulsory viewing for Consultants and Physiotherapists. They are somewhat blasé in their approach to patients.
3 weeks post surgery and had my first adjustment yesterday to the vacoped…today back to some pain and discomfort when putting weight through the leg…hopefully this doesn’t last long and settles. Is it normal to be in discomfort when making the adjustments?
Can we maybe see a video how you are supposed to walk on vacoped boot with flat base? After learning to walk the raised heel, i find it impossible to walk on flat sole
I am not a representative of Vacoped, but wanted to let you know that massaging the beads inside the white “balloon” that is in the zipper pouch in the gray fabric foot covering helped me a lot.
Great video! I've got a question about when to change the sole of the boot, should I use the flat sole for 5° to 30° range of motion or wait till the setting is at 0°-30°
Is there a scenario where you might decrease the angle to below zero (such as -10)? All of the protocols I’ve seen go to zero and then transition to shoes.
Your healthcare provider can best answer this question, but I’m betting that you may still have healed appropriately. I notice that you posted two months ago. Any update?

How do you take boot off
Bottom was tucked and the upper was overlap. Does the middle part overlap or does that get tucked in?
Can the curved sole be removed while sleeping?

That is a good idea and we will put it on the list of videos to do! Thank you

Different specialists will have their own specific protocols; it is important you discuss it with your consultant or physiotherapist.
Foot feels absolutely crushed especially at night, even when I loosen the straps, any tips for that?
Sorry to hear that you are finding it uncomfortable. Are you able to elevate your foot on pillows at night to help minimise swelling?
I didn’t get my hands on this until a week and half later. Does that mean my tendons have already elongated and won’t heal properly?

Have no idea how you’re supposed to walk in this thing. It’s made my right leg 3 inches longer than the left. Madness
It takes a bit of time and practice to get used to it doesn't it! Good luck
🎉
