Tamiya CC-01 Pajero Overhaul - I Like It Now!

- Okay, so this still isn't quite finished, but the chassis is working well now, and the repaint is largely done. There's still a bit of weathering to do, stickers and number plates to add and the lights to wire up, but I'm much happier with how this whole truck feels now.
I've decided to save the clear screen/front windows for Phase 2, which will include building some sort of interior.

Awesome looking pajero my friend 🤩👏
Thank you! 😎👍
Weathering looks great. 👍
Could tell from your over enthusiasm that you're still really enjoying working on it! 🤣👍
Made me chuckle. Look forward to more updates. 👍
Ha ha, right? I'm just a bubbling cauldron of joyous energy. 😐 But I am liking this much more now, plus it's actually set off a bit of a Tamiya thing for me... don't know why. This hobby is weird! 😎👍
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 🤣 I enjoyed your sarcasm and tone though, was funny. 👍😉
That's good you're enjoying it more. 👍
Uh oh, the Tamiya Tickle, now you'll be looking at Midnight Pumpkins and packing your Lunchbox before you know it! 🤣😉
Oh Man!!! What a difference . I LOVE IT. Fantastic job. Really liking the update on the steering as well. Much better. Thumbs up
oh and BOO.... Sorry.... lmao
Cheers! I wasn't going to use the yellow as the final colour, to be honest, but once it was on I thought it looked really good. And I don't have any other yellow trucks, so it's staying! Might end up unlocking the front diff again to help the steering out (the angle is pretty limited), but I'll see how it goes. First drive as soon as I can. 😎👍
Hi Steve, great work on the CC01 - I absolutely love what you have done with the body. The weathering is excellent, you should do a video about that, I need some inspiration to have a go myself! Good to see the chassis is much tighter and almost ready to go, yeah these screws sticking out are a pain but I'm sure you'll come up with a solution. Are we gonna see it run next, or are there more jobs you want to do on it first? ATB, dude! :O)
BOO! 🤣
Thanks Mark! I'm not really qualified to instruct anyone on weathering though, I'm very much making it up as I go along... 🤣 This time I decided to do several layers of colours and then sand through to change the look and tone that way (plus get nice feathered edges). So I did white over the red, then silver and then yellow. I'll probably end up running it before completely finishing it, but not sure - a house move is going to get in the way first! 😎👍
I signed up for the great driving and camera work, stuck around for the sense of humor. Great job on the paint, mate. Looking forward to seeing some run videos of this. Reminds me of my old Isuzu Rodeo, except for the color, make and model. But they're similar I guess.
Ha ha, thanks! I'm looking forward to running it, though life is getting in the way just now and it'll be a while before I can. I'm glad it's just like your old car except for the colour, make and model, it's what I was almost not aiming for! 😎👍
Hi there Steve, the Pajero is looking good, nice body weathering, and looking like it’s had a very hard life indeed. The upgrades look good too. Keep up the great work, I know it’s a Tamiya, but they are unique in there thought processes and how they make models, it’s just the Tamiya way 😊😎😁😉awesome, take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😁😉
Yeah, there's definitely a Tamiya way... it can be a bit frustrating though, as I still (unreasonably) associate them with fairly realistic chassis with lots of metal parts, like in the catalogues I used to pore over as a kid. In reality though that was 40-odd years ago, so I guess my expectations are just out of date! Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated! 😎👍
Nice paint job
🔵🔵🔵👍👍👍😀😀😀🔵🔵🔵
Thanks! 😎👍
Missed this one mate . It’s going well . Looking good . Boo! 😂👍
😱 Sorry, you scared me there.
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 mate you scared me at the end of that video . I’ve only just recovered ! Its up their with Jack Torrance and that Japanese girl crawling out the TV! 😉😂👍

Boo ;-) Very realistic look.
Sunny greetings Lobo💚
🤣😎👍
ROFLMAO great vid, doing well on the weathering chap, may I suggest using some brown and black oils on the wheels and maybe the lower trim too? you love it!
Yeah, the trim needs doing and the wheels could be better... I plan to darken the fronts a bit (brake dust, ya know) in time, but it'll be a few weeks before I can make any more progress on it. 😎👍
So funny as usual. Looks altogether great all together. You didn't mention your plans for the windscreen wipers, which I'm keen to hear about. 😎
I was keeping that as an exciting surprise and massive reveal. But now you've ruined everything I'll probably just leave it. 🤷♂️
赤いパジェロより黄色が良い。素晴らしいエイジング・ペイントだ。あなたはgreatだ。私もCC-01を2台持っているが、あなたのビデオを見たらパジェロが欲しくなった。
私のCC-01です。

ありがとうございます!(I hope that's a reasonably translation, but otherwise thank you very much, I'm happy to hear that!) 😎👍
It looks SO much better now. The weathering is really convincing, as usual. 👍
Personally, I would not weather the underside...just run it and don't clean it. Instant patina! Although, I do like the idea of adhering iron filings on the underside and just let nature take its course; assuming it won't get all scratched off on rocks.
Thanks very much! Fair point about the underneath, I think. I'll let Wales do the weathering... 😎👍
Awesome paint fade and quite a lot of work done to the Pajero project. Impressive skills and patience. The looks are perfect. I saw your video of the TF2 in your new location too. Congratulations on the move. Are you now in need of a channel name change because of the new area? Thank you and cool thumbnail for this video. There, an essay of sorts :-))
Thanks very much! The TF2 vid was actually from my old location, as a kind of farewell drive. I've been so busy I've done hardly any RC at the new place, though I did get some film I'll be editing very soon! Technically I should change the channel name, yes (I'm in West Wales now) but I don't know if I will really.
günaydın hayırlı sabahlar harika içerikler üretiyorsunuz çok güzel paylaşım olmuş yeni videoları merakla bekliyoruz görüşmek dilegiyle
Teşekkürler! 😎👍
I laughed a little short at the end. 😂👍🏻
Ah ha ha, cheers! 😎👍
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 snort, even 🫢
I don't really understand why you're not happy with the look of the current wheels. My dad had an ancient Shogun with scruffy white 8-spokes on it, and I think these look completely in keeping.
And yes, Steve, I do care about your frustration at having to drive excessively slowly because of a lack of work ethic within our postal service - of course I do. Why should you have to go slowly? No-one should have to do that.
Those sticky-out bolt heads are going to keep snagging on stuff till you sort them out, though. That's even more important than the clear windscreen and weathered A-arms.
Thanks man! You're right about having to go slowly too, I mean, that'll never catch on. Silly idea really. 😎👍
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 As a keen motorcyclist I have spent my adult life fuming at all the selfish "slow people". It's inconsiderate and very annoying.
@@Del350K4 Ah ha ha ha, me too! Half the time I don't even seem to have a gear for what they're doing...
✌🏻😎🏴Looks good dude 👍🏻. You are not going to see the wheels when they are covered in mud anyway 😂👍🏻
✌🏻😎🏴where in Wales 🏴 do you live? Do you actually live in Cardiff?
Ha ha, very good point! And it won't take much to bury such tiny tyres either...
No, not Cardiff (that was the nearest place the map actually recognised...). I'm close to Brecon, though we're actually moving next week!
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Moving is stressful. I bet you need a truck for all of your trucks 😂. Where are you moving to? Somewhere warm & sunny?
Check your emails for a picture of something you've never seen before ! 😃👍🏼
p.s Love the Cornish/Scottish? flag on the side 😂😂😂
That was thankfully less ominous than it sounded! Didn't realise these were quite so old - I associate mechanical speed controllers and alloy-cased resistors with my original Rough Rider (and everything in my much-loved catalogue, which I've still got...) back in 1980! It didn't occur to me the CC-01 would have them.
@@hollyhillrc Ha ha no, that's supposed to be where somebody masked it but oversprayed the tape...
