Batman Begins and Superman Returns should’ve started the DC Cinematic Universe. Both movies were one year apart from each other. Both movies were fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with fans and critics. I Am Legend teased a crossover between them for May 2010. The billboard in Times Square had Christian Bale’s Batman logo and Brandon Routh’s Superman logo merged together.

I know right. The voice really shows he is completely immersed in his Batman persona...in reality if someone dressed as a bat were to jump out at you in the night with that kind of voice it would be very intimidating so its very appropriate. The funny thing is even in the comics it is mentioned that his voice is supposed to sound like an over the top Clint Eastwood impression lol Bale= definitive Batman
I agree. I actually really like his voice. However, I want other actors to do things differently. This just feels unique to Bale's Batman. I actually really like how each Batman actor can have such different ways to express the character's voice.

When I think of Batman I will always see Christian Bale...forever and always. I like Affleck and all but Bale was the truest to the original comic book character.
Riddler95 Keaton's Wayne and Batman were the same and he had no dimension, plus he was a killer and wanted revenge instead of justice. Voice sounded like he was just talking to a friend of his.

Bale probably didn't do it intentionally, but he inhabits his characters so fully that there might be a call back to the Bateman character going on some level. I assume you saw American Psycho since you made this comment. If so, then you know that Patrick Bateman is not in the best mental health, and he says in the beginning of that movie that he's basically empty inside. He's a shell. There's nothing there. So the whole time you see Patrick Bateman interacting with other people in that movie, HE'S PUTTING ON AN ACT!" Patrick Bateman is acting the way he thinks he is supposed to act to be accepted by the people around him (his peers on Wall Street - a very specific type of environment). But underneath, something is brewing. This is the same approach that Bale adopts in his version of Bruce Wayne - There's a real Bruce and a "Bruce Wayne Eccentric Billionaire" persona that is totally made up that he puts on as a disguise, so no one suspects him of being Batman. Instead of Wall Street, it's Gotham's high society/elite. Go back to Batman Begins and watch the scene where Bruce is talking to Alfred after Batman makes his first appearance in the newspaper. Bruce leaps out of bed, downs the green drink Alfred brings him and then before he drops down into those push-ups he asks Alfred what "someone like him" is supposed to do. He has no clue how a rich, young, Billionaire without a care in the world is supposed to act. Alfred answers (I'm paraphrasing here) "date beautiful women, drive expensive sports cars and buy things that aren't for sale." He literally does specifically those three things in the scene at the hotel when he arrives with two dates / women in an expensive sports car (Lamborghini) and pledges to buy the hotel (that wasn't even for sale) that he gets thrown out of for "just swimming" in the water fountain. The persona, the facial expression, the tone of voice he uses to talk to the other people at the table in that scene are very different from how he talks to Alfred and Rachel and it is somewhat reminiscent of Patrick Bateman yes. But the difference is that there IS someone behind the eyes in the case of the real Bruce Wayne. And while Bruce is not an ax murderer, he's not 100% mentally healthy either due to the psychological trauma that he has never healed from. Lastly, I'm sure you realize that he actually does buy that hotel by the time we see him in The Dark Knight (scene where he crashes Harvey and Rachel's date).

What made the Dark Knight the best Batman movie is because of its dialogue and monologue. The script for this movie was just the best. And all those quotations.
