I have a few thoughts as a random 25 year old guy.
    1. Your ideas of what you want in life will change. Don’t stress about your bucket list now and just go for one thing at a time. If you chase everything at once, you’ll catch nothing.
    2. The pressures that you feel about what people expect from you will change ALOT when you are not in school. People ask about your plans when you’re in school because its the obvious question. Next they’ll ask what you do for work because people need ice breaker questions. Its not that deep and you don’t need to have an answer. I started answering lots of questions with “I’m not sure” and realized EVERYBODY said “I wasn’t either at that age!”
    3. People obviously think about themselves the most. They may discourage your ideas because THEY wouldn’t do it but that doesn’t make it wrong. If somebody values financial stability more than immediate experiences, they wouldn’t like the idea to travel at a young age because it would forfeit their security. Neither path is wrong, but you have to find the balance between financial security and immediate life experiences and make peace with your choices. Its all opportunity cost. You will have different life outcomes no matter what you do.
    4. View your 20’s as your figure-it-out years instead of a decade that you have to cram all of the fun into. “Live it up in your 20’s” only works for kids whose parents pay for everything, seriously. And then they get spit out into the world without the mental toughness or life experience needed to succeed. Struggling NOW means you’ll have more figured out later. The reality is you don’t have a foundation built in your 20s and can’t feasibly pursue all your dreams. One of my friends just bought a condo and some have kids. I don’t want any of their lives and am content with my pace. Its easy to glamorize anything but their lives are special in their own ways and I have prioritized different things. When I get to those theoretically “later” steps in life, I have friends who have already covered those steps and can give me insight.
I just quit my job this year to hike the PCT for 6 months. I had saved up and finally pursued the goal after 7 years of dreaming. I was new to backpacking and none of my friends or family were familiar with it but I knew it would be right for me. My notes app has old entries of me stressing about taking so much time away and if it was wise. I thought it would be selfish or a pipe dream but those were fears I made up. I made assumptions that people would not understand but I was wrong. When I actually chose to pursue this goal, I only received plenty of support from everybody I knew and it turned out to be an incredible experience through and through. It wasn’t a big deal honestly and I would have missed out on my life’s adventure if I spent any longer stressing about what people would think of me. Now I look at my friends who are more secure and I’m really not jealous because I wouldn’t trade my experiences. I’m ready to work hard now to accomplish other goals (owning land one day) but life is not a rat race and I’m open to my plans changing later down the road.
I think if you pursue what you care about with an open heart, you will find that people are drawn to your authenticity and you’ll meet plenty of like-minded people along the way. I’d be careful about pursuing the “authentic self” because I tend to see the least content people are those that fixate on themselves internally. Happiness is found only in healthy habits and strong relationships.
Gonna subscribe to see where you go next! I love finding good honest vlogs that remind me of old youtube days

I can definitely say you're not alone in the struggles you mentioned. I'm 21 and a senior at an engineering school and I still feel like I have no idea what my future is gonna look like. I don't even know if I'm gonna like my career since I only have experience as a mechanic. Not having a job locked down or any internship experience terrifies me. Since my only real hobby is working on cars and I'm stuck at my college dorm in the city, I just end up sitting inside on my computer all day, and it's taking a toll on my mental health. I look forward to seeing you document your journey since hopefully it'll remind me that a lot of people are going through these same struggles.

I also experience difficulties and uncertainty, I often worry before going on vacation. Many people tell me “Everything is still ahead,” but will it be so? We are living in this moment now. You raise relevant topics that interest me.

I'm 18 and I have had to learn not to listen to others! I have learned to pave my own path, even if I am faced with criticism. Life is so short and we spend so much time wasting it!!!

Be good to yourself. Be good to others. Take accountability to results stemming from decisions you've made. Know that mistakes will always be made, so view them as learning opportunities instead of hurdles. Expand your horizon through mindful observation of the world. Be brave but stay safe. Forge your own path. Ask questions. Plan carefully but keep room for spontaneity. Remember that the journey is far more exciting than the destination. Spread your wings and fly.

You sound kinda like me. I only work 8 months of the year, I travel the other 4. Hoping to get it down to 7 on, 5 off. With weekends, that will be a true work-life balance. 180 on, 180 off. I quit my job a week ago (technically still employed, snow shoveling pays 40 an hour, it's an easy thing to either get money fast or decide I don't want to go out in the cold today and skip it). If you're super realistic with your goals, you can do pretty much anything you want (I know kind of ironic). I have a 450 sq ft apartment in a cheap COL city. It's all I need. There's no point in me having more knowing I'll be gone for a major part of the year. I finished college in three years. I have a degree, but never used it. I would rather work outside. Never got an internship, never did long rounds of interviews that people complain about. There's no point when I know I'll probably be with an employer a max of 5 months at a time. And I know a lot of people like to be like others, which is probably why they tell us to do certain things. But for those of us who are different, usually after we figure that out, it's easy to smile and nod at those people. I only follow once piece of advice. All advice is bullshit, and you really just have to go try things yourself, because everyone is different. Different things work for different people.

Hiya new subscriber here!, I wish everything went great with you.
and yeah about listening to other people thoughts about what should you do in your life!
I just wanna say that everyone has his own journey his own plans and his own way! you shouldn't let people decide your plans or thoughts! Actually you should plan your life by yourself cuz your choices is what gonna shape your future as far as I know!

You definitely should separate other's desires from your own. However, be careful that you are not fighting against your own future and the realities that it has to contend with.
In terms of vacation, absolutely take big trips now especially with friends. Later in life, especially if you ever have kids, the window to do that will be done.
Lastly, I beg you NOT to document everything on social media for your own sake. This can allow every moment of your life to be about what you can present to the world rather than just living it for yourself or others in your immediate presence.
    Godspeed; your 20s are important.

why does youtube keep recommending me videos of women in their early 20s making videos where they share their feelings. I get like 3 of these a day. anyway good luck with your feelings I recommend buying enough long term food to feed yourself for 2 weeks or more and a large stockpile of ammunition. water purification tablets.

Hello there, I was wondering, if I can share with you the most important thing ever with you. God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. Then He was put into a tomb for 3 days, after that Abba Father raised Jesus to life.He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life to be God's child. John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" Will you today genuinely by faith receive Jesus into your life for salvation?/
