    This is what riding a cruiser is supposed to feel like, y’all. To me, anyway. What do you think?

    R18- fugly. LRS- badass. What a cruiser should look like. Love my black '23 with CR483 cam and TBR turnout. Gets the dogs barkin'.

    Got to demo one a couple weeks ago, very nice ride !!! However, anyone willing to pay a $2000 dealer markup in addition to $750 mfg. surcharge is a complete fool. Sorry, call 'em as I see 'em. :)

    So many motorcycles to ride , I have never had a cruiser or ever wanted one , then my wife started riding motorcycles and now I’m looking at the low rider st as my first Harley but crazy expensive and not available? I can wait and watch you/tube hopefully I can learn something, thanks again

    • @TheJedRides
      @TheJedRides  2 роки тому +1

      It is definitely expensive. I haven’t seen a Lowrider ST yet but I do like the idea of it. If that fairing works in the wind it could be a really nice alternative to the FL Harleys - faster, lighter, maybe even more comfortable. I was pretty impressed with the stock suspension on the S.

      Captain D, thanks for offering that perspective. I really need to ride several Indian models. Strangely, there is only one Indian dealer in all of Los Angeles and their website shows them with no inventory of Indian motorcycles.

      He's on an FXLR that I am guessing is a 2018 or 2019. That one has a 107 cubic inch M8 engine, a single front disc brake, and I think a slightly more raked fork than the FXLR S. Looks like they threw an aftermarket fairing and a crash bar on it, too.

    Nice ride Jed, Always loved the even, smoothed, balanced sound of a harley engine. This ones a bit plain for my taste, but then again, lots of canvas to add your own farks and make it your own.

      It’s funny - you’re the second person to remark negatively about the look of the bike. I didn’t expect that. I really liked it! Would you have preferred brighter paint, or chrome finish rather than black? Both, maybe?

      @@TheJedRides I did a quick google after I watched this, and I think it looks better in person, at least from looking at the HQ pics online. Kind of like when your in the market for anything with a selection of colors, be it a car, bike, or even an iphone. You check the net first, then when you show up at the dealership, all the colors you hated look great! I still think its a bit simplistic in some areas, i.e. the cowling around the headlamp, but its a blank slate, and like I said, there's lots of opportunity to personalize it, and make it unique. That's what I love about bikes, especially Harleys. There is no end to creativity.

    Have you done a review on the Street Bob 114? What changes would you do to tour just around the state of California? Maybe one long distance to the state of Washington State from Cal. I'd appreciate your review. I am a new rider. Respect the power.......

  • @lucianoromero777
    @lucianoromero777 2 роки тому +2

    For the price you can get something cheaper with more power stock and more bells and whistles, might as well get the sportster S, with self adjusting valves, 1200CC V twin that produces already more power than any Harley air cooled ever made

    • @TheJedRides
      @TheJedRides  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks, Luciano. It's a fair point, but, in my opinion, (1) aesthetically the Lowrider S is superior, and (2) a cruiser is not water cooled. All that said, it's not really fair of me to say so -- I've not had the chance to ride a new Sportster S. There were three at the dealer last weekend, though -- maybe I will see if they will let me take one out. Lastly, I would love to see HD adapt that Revolution Max engine for the touring models, along with a new frame.

      @@TheJedRides If you want a Harley get the LRS. The sportster s is about the fugliest bike I've seen. My black LRS is badass looking. The sportster may have the function, but definitely not the form.

    Does the Lowrider S price you quoted include ABS? Just curious as I was advised that the 2022 Lowrider S models are not coming standard with ABS and if you elect ABS the pricing will reflect that addition.

    • @TheJedRides
      @TheJedRides  2 роки тому

      It’s a great question, Randy. My recollection is that the one I rode did have ABS, but I’m not 100% certain.

      @@TheJedRides I was just quoted an out the door price for a black 2022 lowrider S with ABS brakes for 24k @ san jose harley in California. I returned back the following week and noticed another grey model with ABS and the sticker price said the dealership was charging a 3.5 k dealer markup. That is crazy.. I may have to just wait as I don't want to pay that kind of markup.

    Grey paint with black pipes… gotta be one of the most boring looking HDs ever. I don’t get manufacturers using all the neutral tones, maybe it’s just me but with a motorcycle I like some colour or at least a bit of styling.

Add a detachable. Windshield and real leather bags not that asymmetrical bs lol. I'll add, that fixed fairings are also very ugly. Fat boy is the real deal in the softail lineup

  • @barrybarnes96

    Just wish the engines weren't such budget built engines. So many instances of bad build practices and cutting corners. ie: Too much/sloppy application of sealant on cases, bits of which break off and block the piston oiling jets. Too much run out on lower end, cheaping out on bearings, etc.. Harley seems to build an engine and then use their customers as product testers. It takes the company 5-7 years to work out the bugs on new engines all of which the guinea pig customer has to pay to have rectified. For a premium product, the engines aren't anywhere near premium quality. Shame really.

    • @TheJedRides
      @TheJedRides  2 роки тому

      I hear you, Barry, but I can't really comment with any first hand knowledge because I haven' t bought a new Harley since 1998, which had an EVO engine that had been developed, what 14 years earlier by that point! I do think build quality is something US manufacturers have struggled with for a long time, and I suspect it all starts with offering wages that will attract skilled workers and entice them to build a career in the factory.

    • @stevengodfrey891
