- This tutorial video explains how to set up dual rates on your fixed wing plane on your RadioMaster TX16S
I purchased my TX16S from the Flying Robot Co in Cape Town. This is not an affiliate link but I want to share where you can get yourself a RadioMaster TX16S in South Africa.

Thanks for watching.

thanks bill. You made it much easier for me!...
You are very welcome Sean.
Very useful. I am trying to fly my first serious model and everybody is telling me to adjust the rates. I didn't quite understand it and now I managed to set up the switch and the rates with your instructions. Thank you!
I am pleased my video helped you. Rates are important I always test fly my planes with lower rates first and with some planes switch to lower rates when landing. Expo will help you too. Welcome to the hobby.
Just what I was looking for, thanks for sharing this, you got an new subscriber 👍🏻
great videos thanks
Hey Bill. just another terrific video. I seem to be ok with rates. I used the Wizard to set up my plane. I chose aileron with separate channels. The channel output shows both ailerons, but only one aileron responds on my plane.
You need to add a mix for the second aileron servo.
Good info. Next time flight modes?
Coming soon.
I have a request. I would love to see a video about setting up Crow-mix. I have 2 gliders and need a 3 position switch 0 = No flaps 1 = 30% flaps and 3 = Aileron going up and flaps full down (Crow mix). Yes, i have to maybe change the numbers a little to get the throws perfect. Thanks !
On its way.
Thanks Bill.
I can now set up dual rates...welll....actually triple rates now thanks to you and this video.
I would like very much to see a tutorial on how to make wav files witn my own voice recordings and substitute a few of the ones already programmed.
Instead of a snappy " dual rates are on"....it would be within my humour to hear " dual rates on old boy".
In a typical ww2 spitfire pilots tone.
When the electric prop starts up then its a loud " Chocks away old chap!".
Maybe use Audacity for the wav files with mic attached to pc and transfer the wav file to the TX16S SD card?
I can think up some good voice recordings to brighten up the flying field.....
Especially when youu have a crash!!!!!
I will leave that to your imagination.
Peter
Hi Peter, 😂 Absolutely spiffing old chap! This video should help you create your own custom sounds for your radio.

Bill thanks again. I had a Spektrum radio for 9 years before purchasing the TX16s. I setup many dual rates. I having trouble now. I have SBup Hi rate 100% SB mid 60% mid rates and SB down for low rates 40%. But when I test on my plane, and simulate in companion, all three positions are all 100%. Where did I go wrong. Seems easy enough.
Hi Jerry, many things could be wrong. Could you please back up your radio and email it to me and I will take a look for you. If you open the backup in Companion you can delete all other models except for the problem one save it and email to triplemadventures@gmail.com
I really appreciate your desire to help. But I watched your video again and discovered my error.@@the-happy-RC-flyer
HI and great explanations on this, a question, how do I do it on ailerons with 2 servos?
David set it up exactly as in the video because you set up Expo and Dual Rates in the INPUTS so they will be active over all Mixes relating to that INPUT. In other words your two aileron servos relate to the same INPUT Aileron. If you need any further help just shout!
@@the-happy-RC-flyer thanks for your prompt response , I will try .
Bill , great it worked , now to plaps :)
I would like to pose one more issue. As we know TX16s accepts DSM receivers. I have three left over from my Spektrum radio. My radio refuses to bind any of them.
Hi Jerry, please check the MPM website for which Spektrum receives are compatible with the MPM. www.multi-module.org/basics/supported-protocols
Ok Bill. I know I asked this before. I'm setting Aileron Low Rate. SE(down) to 45%. But when I use the channel monitor. SE down is 86%. This is not that hard, and I followed you step by step. What could be wrong?
Hi Jerry, I am not sure what is going on unless I could see your radio. If you are putting the weight in at 45 then that should be it. No offset and no curve. Have you put the rates under INPUTS.
Hi Bill, how does this work on a delta wing with the elevon mix?
Jan, just set the dual rates up as normal on the Inputs.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer Followed the video: dual rates on left and right elevon channel, to my surprise only the left elevon follows the switch settings, going up and down (elevator wise) the right one ignores it completely as does the left one when applying 'rudder'. Obviously I did something wrong... Can the delta mix mess things up?
@@janspoelstra8309 short answer is no. Let me give you an example.
Dual rates must be programmed into the INPUTS not the MIXES
First aileron line will be
Source Aileron Stick
Weight 100%
Offset 0%
Switch SD^
Add second line
Source Aileron Stick
Weight 60% (Select the reduce rate you require)
Offset 0%
Switch !SD^
You can repeat this for the Elevator Input.
I hope this helps.
@@the-happy-RC-flyer You've got email.
Bill I thought I had it. But I don't. I have no idea how to do what you requested.
Bill you can disregard for now. My radio went to hell in a hand basket AGAIN!!. I'm sending it to radio master.
@@jerryzito6840I would suggest starting again and factory reset the radio and start again as long as you have not changed the firmware. Which is not always necessary to do unless you want the latest features. If you want to email a full list of what you have done I will try to help. triplemadventures@gmail.com
