And here I thought we all agreed
Take this hand of hope
and leave the world to bleed
For a place too bright to see
Can we still behold?
Forest for the trees
But here in the dark
I feel nothing, I see no one
No solace at all
We once heard the lasting call
But now we...
Praise the void
For this love, wasted love
Praise the void
We found nothing is enough
You tell me hope’s too bright to be
Tomorrow’s just
a fabrication of our dreams
Here in the dark
I feel nothing, I see no one
Is it the end you want to see?
Here in the dark
We feel nothing, we see no one
Is it peace for only me?
I keep listening to this one on repeat today. I loved the SoDaR version and I wasn't immediately blown away with this one. But I'm listening to this particular version (this video) over and over at work today. And this song is making me feel so sad , but at the same time so thankful.
I'm sad because of the waisted love that I and those around me give to anything in this world. However it makes me happy because it reminds me their is nothing worth loving without our love for Christ, and the love that He gives to us.
Praise Jesus, for praise for anything else is nothing.
Jesus is the only 'thing' (Person) I eventually came out to think of about as being of worth being obsessed with... as He was and IS so obsessed with Us...
What is the SoDaR version?

Most underrated metal band ever
I know! I don't understand why they're not MASSIVE, that's fine for me I prefer smaller venues and am praying they will someday play my town!
true
@Bob Dobbs I love that positive outlook! Have you been to their show?
@@TenFiveFour I have not, they've never been to my town as far as I know.
I agree. I can't wait to see them in Lawrence Kansas in April
I'm still kind of new to Demon Hunter. I've known about them for years. Hell, I even got to see them live once when they toured with Red around 9 or 10ish years ago. I knew I was seeing a popular band but looking back, I didn't know I got to see greatest before I knew how amazing lyrically DH is.
The reason I wanted to make this post is I wanted to share my personal interpretation for the song Praise the Void.
The first time I heard this, I thought it was just an outright new song made exclusively for the album, not realizing it was just being released first before the newer version that I still have yet to hear.
This was the first song that hit me hard, but after reading other people's interpretations, I felt mine was significantly different.
My interpretation is rather depressing. I felt it was about a person realizing in life that no matter how hard they try to fight in this world to be sinless, they're going to fail and it hurts every time you break it. However, the person who is consistently breaking their vows to try and not sin are surrounded by people who do not care about God or Jesus.
When I see the lyrics "Wasted love" I feel it meant that God still loves all of his children, but there are people who couldn't care less what he would feel or do for them.
Followed by Wasted love, you see the lyrics "We found nothing is enough." It mentally hurts to see that line. I felt that no matter how hard you try, your sin by definition means that no matter how you sin, it's technically not enough to be saved from hell. "Nothing is enough" to truly be saved from hell, and that hurts so bad to think about.
The idea of praising the void just makes me think of how many celebrate the fact they do not have to worry about a creator in their life so they live with nothing in their life and as Christians, that's one of the most painful things you'll ever see. Not being able to save everyone is one of the most hurtful things we have to live with.
"Is it the end what you want to see?" followed with "is it peace for only me?" Signifying that knowing the only way to save those is to introduce them to God and Jesus, but there are so many people could care less.
We are saved by the grace of God and believe many of us will make it to our temples when we die. But living with the sad thought of "how little is not enough to be saved?" Plagues me based on how so many people just disregard things in their lives.
Sorry if I over thought any of this. That's just the message I still get when I listen to this song and though it's lyrically such an amazing song, it's one of the more depressing songs I've heard.
If you managed to read this entire thing, thank you for humoring my interpretation of the song.
😢 I honestly got the same interpretation. Being surrounded by non-believers, that attempt to fill the void in their hearts, with earthly idols and believing in lies, just breaks my heart and I mourn for them.
Let's not forget to pray for those ❤
I can tell that this album will be the best, good luck on the rest guys 😊
It's out now!
this is the best album. good job ryan and the rest of demon hunter

Underrated. This should have +1 mil views by now.
I'm here on 30-Oct-2022 @ 12:51AM, listening to this new masterpiece.
Me too…just now
I was thinking the same thing..masterpiece!
Just as good as the Resurrected version. 👍
Best band in the world 🤘🏻
wouldnt go that far...but they are very good!!
@@paladinminipedro707 I am going that far 🤘🏻
@@gloomsouls ok...but have you given Wage War a chance? or maybe Stryper and Iron Maiden? As far as Christian Deathmetal goes....Wage War has no equal IMO
@@paladinminipedro707 Stryper is really good. I listened some of them last year and really liked most of their songs. Demon Hunter is really good too.
What a beautifully mournful song, and such a great way to ask a sober question.
Can't say this is my favorite record (not sure which is) but it is more my natural style, and is probably gonna get played more just for that reason. The resurrected version of this was beautiful for sure, and I think just as good, maybe better in some ways, but I think I'll listen to this more.
All of these songs sound so "done," as in baked long enough. Fairly rare these days, though I know much of it is talent and skill too. Nothing sounds rushed or half-hearted, and the recordings are solid and dynamic enough. This is gonna age really well.
Heard this on the radio and immediately fell in love, just found a new favorite metal band
which station?
"praise the void" hm phrase this remembers me of hollow knight
One of our manager's favorite video games ever
This version is incredible! I’m so excited for this album 🖤
This song touches my very soul, both versions are so beautiful
We just said our goodbyes with a family member, taken by another's choice and bad decisions from a hospital.
Been listening to this, dead flowers, and I am a stone on repeat. The music certainly brings emotions, that sadness, but it's also comforting.
Even with the sarcastic nature of the singer. ; ) Love your guys work, your music.
I love this version, especially the guitar melody the last half of the song, it does something to my heart. I’ve been in a season of letting go and surrender to God and I just feel like this sounds like what I’m feeling. Awesome version.
Great lyrics! Love it! 🖤🤘🏼
One of those few cases where we got to hear the cover before the actual song, ha ha. All the same, be it the _Songs of Death and Resurrection_ cover or the _Exile_ release, this has become one of my favorite tracks from the album. Well done, gentlemen.
This band as help me a lot since they released i am a stone... thanks for exist and make all this really good music much love from Venezuela
This version is good too I’m used to listening to their resurrected songs
IMO, probably the best song Demon Hunter has ever written. So hauntingly beautiful and yet so true. This band deserves world wide recognition. Best band of my generation.
Exile is probably my favorite album so far...Just finished listening it yesterday and I was blown away by it! I also love that this version of 'Praise The Void' hits very differently compared to the resurrected version, great job Demon Hunter! 🤘🏻🎸
That watery clean tone is very nu-metal, awesome to see such a maligned sound repurposed to something more artistic. The mix overall is somehow polished yet crisp, some of the best production I've heard on a metal track since Blackwater Park.
Your screen name though 🤣😭🤣 ipromiseiminsane though
My favorite metal band.
I read online that this song is meant to be satirical of the kind of nihilism that Christians assume consumes atheism. But as a former-Christian-turned-atheist (who is NOT consumed with nihilism) I find this utterly beautiful.
This is the third Demon Hunter song I've added to my “Deconstruction Playlist”.
I pray God reveals himself to you as he is a merciful father to have forgiven a sinner like me.
@@joshuawheeler5309 your god doesn't exist and your prayer dissipated into echoes, but I'll report back if I'm wrong and he does show up. 🙂

Of the songs I have heard so far, I like this one the best. God be with ye.
My favorite for now ! 🙏
I think that version is way better than resurrected one, more catchy I think:D
Guys, what a touching song. :) Love from brazil.
I knew they would take this song to the Exile album, but the stripped down version with the piano from 2021 is also legendary to me
Saw these guys over the summer in Lexington, KY. They put on an awesome show! First show I've been to since going sober 2 years ago.
Double yes! Enjoy you all, very relaxing.
I'm really love this song!!!
The most beautiful metal song ever
Been WAITIN for this one!
Fun thing, this is not a new song. This song was already in Songs of Death and Resurrection, my favorite acoustic album ever, a masterpiece. I remember that when I listened all the album I searched all the songs but their original version, not the acoustic or "Resurrected One", but Praise the Void hadn't an original version. I knew somehow that it was going to be in the next album. I was right. Definitely this is one of my favorite songs. I don't know if I'm right about the lyrics, but it is a metaphor about Christ right? Anyways, that's what it means to me. I also praise the Void 🔥. Blessings DH
I'm pretty sure the lyrics are about how the world has strayed from God, and now we "Praise the Void," meaning we waste our lives searching for some worldly means to be content. It's about how we will never be truly happy without God in our lives. Praising the Void is a bad thing, it means you're coping for having a shallow, empty life.
At least that's my interpretation.
@@bigwinz yeah, maybe that's what it means. However, the lyrics like these can be interpreted in s thousand ways, which in certain way could be nice, because for each different person can mean something different.
Iirc, Ryan said the song is irony based on a friend's viewpoint on religion, so.. Hence the song.

Great to see Praise the Void get an awesome redux! :D was jamming the original a lot end of May 2022 so this was a neat surprise :o :D
Beautiful version of this song! Loving everything I’ve heard for this album and can’t wait to get it in the mail!
wish Demon Hunter had their own merch store. I would rather have the artist receive 100% of my money not some middle man!!
Right?!! Me too. So many bands wind up with wonky, non-favorable merch deals, though. Unfortunately, it's all too common in the music industry, as a whole, but especially in this genre.
@@rferguson3 you are correct, also with the record labels asking for an 80% of all merch sales is ridiculous, its called the 180 agreement between the label and the artist. Cody Johnstone (guitarist for Lyndsey Schoolcraft) told me about that. I mean Sabaton and Iron Maiden has their own merch store and they are better off for it. The artists get screwed by the record labels.
The Merch Connection and Down Right Merch stores are officially licensed by us!

I'm kinda on Depression, and hear Demon Hunter is just liberates the essence of my soul. I just feel me, God and my darkness.

Absolutely love you guys
So soulful.. It sounds so good! 💜
This song is the new praise and worship! Nothing is enough. 🤘
When I feel the Voids call, pulling me before my time, I listen to this to remind myself that if I am nothing else in this miserable universe of suffering, I am an Obedient Son, bearing my burdens. I don't care about rewards, genuinely don't believe in them. But I will die with what little virtue I managed to scrape together clutched too me.
i enjoyed the accoustic version on sodar i love this version of how it should be absolutely beautiful
Still keeping it 100, AWESOME!!!!!!!
Thanks for uploading these amazing songs! Truly a work of art and a blessing for all that find it

I wish this version came out first. After listening to the Live studio one for like a year, the album version sounds so wierd to me. Still love it tho

Praise the void! 🙏
Uh.... no thanks.
I was wondering what the non-acoustic version would sound like and I gotta say I like it. It has a really different feel from the acoustic version, ,more aggressive almost. That said, the ending felt very abrupt and sudden to me, like there's supposed to be more but the video ends before it can play. Either it's because it's supposed to directly lead into the next song or someone messed up editing.
All in all, good song, bad ending.
Seems dull in some parts like it needs some hype or something

Sad your music used to Christian-ish, but you new stuff seems void of anything of spiritual benefit to the followers of Jesus Christ.
You surely are listen to other band than DH. Exile have a lot of biblical/christianism influences. Let me post here one of the most clear about this issue...
" I paint a sacred blood around the door "
If this line isn't one of the most biblical lines from DH, I don't know what more you want from them
@@lexmetalisassessoriaeagenc6219 Sorry just fluff who's blood what blood. You need the secret DH decoder ring to try to imply christian meaning. It's a joke.
