Hello and welcome to "Her Cup of Simple", a place where I share everything I've learnt since embracing the slow living movement in every aspect of my life.
My name is Alessandra and I'm a mom to 6 kids.
I enjoy taking you along with our life here at the Honey and Lavender Cottage, in the countryside!
Few years ago, I decided to cut off all the extras in our lives; possessions, busy schedules, places to be etc... and tuned in with our inner selves instead.
I started to focus on living more intentionally, enjoying the littlest of the things, paying attention and honoring my body and soul's needs.
I also started to eliminate anything toxic and chemical from our body care and foods and I'm a firm believer of the miracle just these simple changes bring to our health, on a physical and mental level.

Recently resigned from a position held for the past three years which though purposeful, company changes which appeared sporadic in nature and not in alignment with personal values and goals. Definitely activates anxiety. Opt for a position familiar with and though less pay and longer hours, the job of not having to drive racking up mileage and opportunity to spend time with my adult children is all needed and looked forward to. As is we eat frugal. In today’s time being g taken advantage by a job because of need to work isn’t necessary. Less is more. No cable. No hanging out spending in years. Giving up the noise. Giving the haste. Slow living. Tiny space and definitely seeking leaving where anxiety would be triggered…..
You have made a brave decision but it's worth it.
What is important is that you are happy and satisfied with what you did.

Alessandra, this was by far my favorite video, your way of describing the hustle of life was me for many years, until I decide to take charge of my life getting back into what God designed me to be. Once looking at God's plan for me and my way of living was not matching. Just like you, I see so many benefits by living slow, simple and minimal, even turning off all electronics at night time to spend time together has changed my life. Thank you so much for such a beautiful video and words, many blessings 🙏

💖 Hello dear friend! I was thinking of you today. I'm glad to see you are all doing well. I have enjoyed my slower couple of weeks at work, but starting next week, it will be more busy. At least it is not a hum drum job. I do enjoy helping others. Weekends will be more precious. Lol Thank you for the relaxing video!
Oh!! I was able to download Brad's (BFH) songs a couple of weeks ago! 🎉And I finally figured out how to listen to them on my phone! So awesome!! 🎶🎵 Now I can listen to them while driving and at home. 😌

Alessandra, I admire you so much! As a mother, as a wife and as a woman, you're such an inspiration to me. I can't put into words how much you lightened my heart when you said you're the gatekeeper of your children's innocence, that you protect them from praganda, news etc. That is such an immense gift you're giving them, I believe! Amongst all else you give and represent for them in childhood. Beautiful video!

In all honesty, I believe that childhood is a sacred time in a person's life and it shouldn't involve complicated issues or the world's problems...
They are not capable of processing them quite yet🥺🤗
As a parent, I protect their freedom to be and express themselves the way they feel natural about it.

I find her home cold and sterile, but then I have a different esthetic and a different life to hers. My home is filled with art (most of it made by me), books and animals - I'm sure Alessandra would find it very chaotic and uninviting as there's always a degree of mess going on around.
Still, she is one lucky woman to have a beautiful family and the life she always dreamed of. Not all people get to have it so fair play to her.
And yes, home cooked meals are the best.

My style is minimal but eclectic! I love earthy boho!! And art..... I'm always on the lookout for some real paintings to display here and there in my cozy corners.
My idea of minimalism is about spending less money in stores and going to work to feed consumerism habits.🤗☺️
I grew up in a house where we used to rescue animals....so, I would loooove your place!!😘😘
Sorry my footage was a bit misleading but that's what I had at the time and I'm only grateful for it although it wasn't rejected my style at all....

@@HerCupOfCOZY we're not so dissimilar after all. 😊 I make my own skincare as well but the only minimalism I do is with my make-up, as I don't really wear any, and jewellery.
The house in living in is a rental as well but the landlords don't really care what I do with it, decor wise, as long as I'm not knocking down walls or making other structural changes. I'm lucky this way.

That is so true. It's impossible to have that kind of life if you live on your own or are a single parent. Someone has to make the money to pay the bills.

@@HerCupOfCOZY I only watched one of your videos and I can see it already. I always thought that being a mum is the best job in the world, and I have an admiration for every woman that chooses that path. It would have been mine too, if I was able to have children. I rescue animals instead.
