- All of the clothes I own are shown in this realistic year-round capsule wardrobe. My extreme minimalist wardrobe is a basic capsule wardrobe with solid colors I can mix and match. I’m taking you on a closet tour of my minimalist closet and sharing my minimalist wardrobe tips. I focus on the basic wardrobe essentials and have decluttered my closet of everything I don’t need, love or use. My entire minimalist wardrobe fits into a suitcase for travel as my husband and I are currently traveling abroad.

Interesting but not even one dress ? 🤔
I return again and again to the most comfortable items. I'm thin, but no more skin-tight jeans for me...and I live in cashmere sweaters, which last forever. 😊
Second hand shops can have very reasonable and beautiful clothing. No reason to wear things to a frazzle.
@@sandrachank6982 And the online sites that sell secondhand things are fantastic. I buy nearly everything that way, much of it never worn. Just this week I found a beautiful Hunkydory sweater for 9€. I can't imagine buying retail anymore unless it's a bra or underwear! 😂
I would just add a black A - line skirt or palazzo for an evening out. That's my favorite fit (for my slightly pear shape). I started replacing my T-shirts with very basic crochet tops in good bamboo or cotton yarn. I'm a farmer, and just over 50. I have a very active lifestyle, but also want a relaxed sophisticated look when I'm not working.
I find it amusing how many people sound like they expected Connie’s wardrobe to be what THEY would have as a wardrobe. The idea is to take inspiration from this video. Choose colors that work for you! Choose pieces that work with your climate! It requires a little contemplation, not just watching a video. And if your argument is that this wouldn’t work for you, why not just be happy it does for her?
I like Connie’s style in general. I agree, her videos are suggestions for comfortable and elegant look especially for her body type, hair color and lifestyle. Yours may be different.
Also, most of these items point to Amazon purchases. I would suggest you read reviews and fabric description before purchase and make sure to check on quality once you receive them. You may find it disappointing.

When I retired, I adopted a simple wardrobe that works in every climate. No dresses, skirts, shorts or heels. I wear the exact same style of black cotton cargo pants and black slip-on loafers every day. I have a handful of short-sleeve t-shirts, and a soft cashmere sweater for layering. Add a light puffer jacket with a zip-out lining and my favorite silk velvet scarf. Everything is washable and no ironing needed. If I travel and need sandals, boots or outerwear, I buy it there and leave it behind.
I am retired also. I love your idea. But what do you do if you need to go to a funeral, a wedding etc. ?
I don’t have a lot of clothes, but don’t think I would just get rid of stuff to downsize. My luck I would need a item and it would cost me money to replace. It saves me money using all my clothes until not usable then I toss out. Works for me.
I notice ironing doesn't feature largely in your wardrobe choices .. lol. Bravo for not being paranoid that everything is crease free. I need to take this on board too.

😅without knowing it, my wardrobe are almost exactly the same as you ….. and i love it …. It’s simple, comfortable, can be dressed up or down …. And i live in a house …. I use a quarter of our walking closet the rest of the space is used by my husband 😂😂
I will be traveling for 3 months in Europe this summer with only a vjallraven 17” backpack (8kg max) and a little crossbody bag … 👍👍👍 perfect for me 😊
I'm a 60 yr old black woman and I love your wardrobe!
For three years, I lived and loved minimalistic travel with even less than you. Mine fit in one carry-on-sized suitcase. I have socks, undergarments, colorful and neutral short & long-sleeved t-shirts, 1 skirt, 1 jeans, 1 yoga pants, a couple fine gauge cardigans, an ultra-light backpacking squashable parka, and quick-dry running shorts & tank top (for swimming and exercising.) Shoes are birks, ballet flats, and Merrell hiking shoes. I'm so minimal in my jewelry that it is always on my body. I use separate cloth pencil bags for: 1. toiletries 2. manicure 3. sewing 4. hair clips and comb 5. watercolor supplies. I don't wear any make-up except cherry chapstick, and I scrunch my long hair into waves without products for styling. I always carry a few books in addition to Kindle ones on my laptop. It's amazing how long travel-size toiletries last. Now that I'm back in a house, I long for the simplicity of that suitcase. My wardrobe is larger now but still has the same T-shirt & cardigan style with jeans, yoga pants, or skirts as the occasion dictates.
I think I need to purge my closet! I turned all my hangers backwards and turn them back around when I wear something so at the end of the season those not turned back around well those clothes will have to go! ❤🇨🇦

This is so difficult to downsize, if temperatures vary over the year from -15°C to +40°C and you need a home (cozy and garden work adjusted) and a business wardrobe...
I reorganized my closet, after losing weight and keeping it off. But I have leggings for yoga and exercise, bicycle riding clothes and hiking clothes and shoes and boots to go with as I live in Colorado. I have numerous swim sits (exercise, resort, hot tubbing, tanning, beach and family) plus beach coverups/ UPV protected clothing too. How can I pare down more when I have hobbies, high altitude, traveling and 4 seasons- often in one day !! ??

It's interesting that you have no patterned items in your wardrobe at all or dresses, just separates, but I find your lack of 'stuff' VERY uplifting, empowering & thought provoking. It's a bit like puzzle, but with a little creative packing I make it fit😀
When I retired, I moved to a village in a mountainous resort area. I'm in the Northeast so 9 months of the year you need winter or transitional clothing. It's casual and outdoor oriented so there's few dress up occasions. Even in summer (which is short), it can be hot in the daytime but cool at night. I have lots of layering pieces.i wear jeans, relaxed fit trousers , wide leg pants and casual dresses. I have some tees, button up shirts and tanks. I have my winter gear, but use blazers, sweaters and casual jackets. No heels. Sneakers, oxfords and boots.
I love your choices. Would you be willing to share the designers? Especially those wide leg beige pants! Love them!
My wardrobe is far from minimalist but this year I have only bought two items and some underwear.

Bravo! I am in process of paring down my wardrobe. Over the past few years, I realized that I wear very few of my clothes. The next thing I noticed was that the favored clothes are natural fiber and easy to wear. Dresses are my 'go to'. The area I have the most difficulty with is shoes-it is hard to find comfortable, attractive shoes that are supportive and do not make my legs look stumpy. Sandals and boots are the easiest. I cannot wear heels any longer, so dressier shoes are hard to find.

I recently adopted a very similar wardrobe… I find that now, with my sparse selection that I can create FAR MORE interesting combinations because my clothing isn’t surrounded by fifty other items hanging on the bar that are nothing more than “noise”. I certainly dress “better” with 1/4 of my original hoard of clothes. Thank you for your helpful videos and channel ♥

Wow, Connie, this is just what I need! My family lives in Central America but plans to move back to a mild climate in Europe again soon. I love that your wardrobe picks cover almost any climate. Last year I moved a couple dozen times, so keeping it minimal is very important to me too.

So inspirational, thank you! I learned the benefits of a minimalist wardrobe many years ago when I was travelling a lot. I had few things, everything went with everything else plus one or two 'special' items. Sadly once I settled in one place the 'closet full of clothes and nothing to wear' monster got me. Okay, I confess it was me not the monster 😂. I finally realised that although I have a wardrobe bursting with lovely clothes I ALWAYS wore the same things, T-shirt and jeans in the summer, turtle neck and jeans in the winter! Now I am weaning myself off of feeling the need to own 100X more items than I will ever wear and it feels SO good to keep only what I LOVE and actually wear, things that will be loved (and worn) to death! BTW I prefer natural fibres too . Thank you Connie for sharing your inspirational journey wih us.❤
I had the same experience a few years ago when we moved into a house. It's crazy how more clothes found their way into my closet.
I admire that you can do that. I have been trying to empty my closet out for so long and have been very unsuccessful. I always need another dress for a wedding that is in a different season than what I already have, or I've worn that outfit too many times at parties..there are always reasons I feel that I need to buy something new because what I have in my closet won't work for this reason or that reason. I just can't seem to do it! I give you a lot of credit!

Funny you should ask about a dress. 😂I had worn my simple black dress to my daughter's ballet performance the prior week of filming this video. When I washed it, it shrunk 3 sizes! I couldn't even close the front clasps. I'm not sure if I will replace it or just stick to my skirts.
