Nice. Jordan’s creativity in the lane is one of the many reasons he was such a great scorer. It’s all about reading the defense and having the fundamentals to know what to do with what the defense gives you. 💪
@@thomasodonnell3694 all the highlights were from 1998, when mj was 35 and did not have nearly the athleticism he had when he was younger. Check his games out when he was a Washington wizard, age 40 still dropping 40 50 points on the great players of the early 2000s. These tips have nothing to do with having a 40" vertical. A guy with a 10 inch vertical can use these to improve his game
Your shooting form video from 2 years ago really helped I realized that tapping my elbow to my hip helped me shoot straighter instead of left or right misses. It also helped with power and it feels so much looser

03:00 this is a cheat code move, he like to lift and slightly move his pivot left foot to get more distance away from his opponent. You can't see it without slow-mo.
If you want to be good master the 1st 2 moves in practice and games BEFORE you even start working on the Spin Move. Most Spin Moves = Turnover (by travel or loss of ball etc) or Missed Shot until you have already mastered the more nasic moves.
i mean fair enough, but how tf is he ur faveorite shooter. I mean like theres steph, clay, ray allen, even luka. Duncan is way too inexperienced to be anyones favorite shooter lol. But ur entitled to ur opinion. Thats all imma say.
Originally, jumping and getting your pivot foot off the ground while your other foot is still on the ground, it’s a travel. There no difference between this and starting a 1-2 without dribbling. Though nowadays it’s not always called in Europe, I prefer not to use such moves that are arguably a travel. I don’t care if anyone judges me for being too much old school, even as a 20 year old, but it feels more right to play the game the way it was originally supposed to be played.
not true, if I understand you right. a travel happens when your pivot comes back down, not when it leaves the floor. what he's doing (at 3:29 for example) is entirely legal. if your pivot weren't allowed to leave the floor you couldn't take a jumpshot.
andrew smith it’s okay in any league if both feet leave the ground at the same time. But doing a 1-2 after a shot fake? Travel. But rules keep changing in the offense’s favor and I think that now it’s legal anyway
@@dphenomenal1283 I hear ya, used to think that too. But it's not a rule. I'll give you a nickel if you find spot in NBA or NCAA rulebook that mentions both feet leaving ground at once.
Jordan's move on the step through wasn't a travel because he jumps off the pivot foot (right foot) and left foot almost simultaneously (at least to the naked eye). Colin's move is a travel because he comes to a full stop, then takes another step with the left foot. They are mechanically different moves. Still love the channel though.
That's not a rule, actually. I used to think it was, but it's not in the rulebook. When you lift one foot without dribbling, the other one becomes the pivot. When the pivot leaves the floor, it can't come back down before you release the ball. That's the rule; nothing about having to leave the floor simultaneously. (Look it up, or pose the question on ref forums.) The reason players usually leave simultaneously is power and balance or because they're taking a jumpshot.
I sincerely believe this package of scoring moves is the holy grail. It’s a lost art to most players especially young ones. I won’t go as far as to say no one uses this stuff but my son plays AAU and I’ve seen teams and players from all over the country and it’s not something you see a lot. The game has changed sure but there is always room for these moves. They make a player than can do them almost impossible to guard.
If you can lift your pivot foot and take two more steps, then why have any dribble requirements at all. You see this in street ball all the time. Then you should be able to walk without a problem. Palming, carrying, Euro stepping, pivot foot lifting, three steps down the lane, allowing all of these have violated the original spirit of basketball. No one calls continuation violations anymore. Sure it's more entertaining but dribbling is now a lost art. Kids can do so much w/o really being a great dribbler. And the rules have changed so much to help the offense. And its so hard to play defense that most NBA players don't even try.
He didn't switch his foot. You're allowed to lift your pivot to shoot or pass. It becomes a travel if your pivot is returned to the floor before the ball is released.
@Wes Mantooth no he actually stepped on the other foot while he was shooting meaning that in that exact moment he stepped on the other foot not the pivot one which is travel in any league
@@thepapch It's not a travel, no matter how you look at it. This is a very legal move, and always has been. Slowing it down only confirms the fact that it is very much legal.
@@cockybalboa2the moment you choose a pivot foot you cannot land on the other foot whilw your pivot foot is not on the ground thats the rule. I might not be called in the nba but in FIBA its travel

ABSOLUTELY! He was incredibly crafty. No matter what the defense did he had an answer. That the mark of a prolific scorer 🔥💯
Does't hurt if you have a 48" vert and play bball 10 hours a day either...
