Just found the channel here, and I’m loving it, channels like this are what UA-cam needs more of, just good wholesome people who are sweet as candy ;) making content they want to share with people, love it I’m definitely going to be giving these recipes a try thanks Sara!
I agree! I would add bacon too. This recipe includes Southern kitchen staples that I recall seeing growing up, but I've never seen this recipe! Interesting way poor folks must have just combined what they had on hand. And I'll eat anything with mayo! 👍🏼
I've eaten "cracker salad" for years, but I didn't know it had a name. The only thing I do differently, is I toast the saltines under the broiler a little (adds extra flavor) and instead of mayonnaise, I use ranch dressing. I love you show.
Sara, no comments are permitted on your newest, "Cheeseburger Sloppy Joes" so I am writing this here. You are real and that's why we all love you! You don't attempt to be "liked" and yet your sweet nature comes shining through. Glen Smith I make croutons and no they aren’t greasy. They are so much better than store bought and you can season them as you like. We use onion powder, garlic powder, dried parsley, pepper and a bit of salt or season salt.
It's true. She is so sweet and she seems so upbeat all the time. I love her recipes. She comes up with different things I've never thought about. I love crackers. I'm 72 years old, I live alone, I don't cook much, so crackers and cheese are my go-to, which my Doctor said was bad for me. What the heck, I've had cancer 5 times throughout my life, beginning when I was seventeen, but I'm still here. Therefore, this cracker salad got my attention right away. I thought about a few things to add which I think would be good. That is cheddar cheese chunks, sliced ripe olives and chopped pimientos.. I'm going to try it and let Sara know how it turned out. I hope everyone is doing well through this pandemic. I live in Texas and it hit here like a bomb and cases multiplying everyday like a tornado hit. I made it using onions, boiled eggs, tomatoes, capers, smoked salmon and saltine crackers. I mixed the Mayo with some horseradish. For me it was too salty, maybe the capers and the smoked fish with the saltines was too much. I would try it again with different crackers. I think I will try it in the late summer and serve it on sliced tomato and maybe some shaved cheese. I had never heard of this before, thanks so much for the recipe. I love watching your show.

This recipe makes me think of panzanella which I have only made a couple times but loved. From a Lidia Bastianich recipe on PBS. I would add sugar snap peas, baby corn, asparsgas, chickpeas, and more tomatoes. A lot of olives; green, black, kalamata, etc. I also would use cream cheese mixed with some kind of salad dressing instead of mayo. Altho not a big fan of this cold style salads with mayo, I like them for variety. I also would use Ritz crackers, because they are better and usually don't get soggy as fast as saltines.
