    This is a great short, to the point presentation. My only suggestion is to show visually what is occurring when explaining what is occurring with the genes 🧬 so we can better comprehend and see exactly what is occurring rather than only comprehending it on a theoretical level.

    yeah, but what causes these mutations to happen? This explains how they happen. Why does the shift suddenly occur? Why the split, etc?

    excellent presentation, however the heading should be 'mechanism of gene mutations' an not 'causes of..'. There are many theories for 'causes' which are not well established yet.

    Help... Can you describe the mutation in the DNA? 2. Please describe the change it caused in the mRNA and 3. Please explain the change in the protein. Thanks.

    Do you believe these causes are strictly random, or do you believe there are non-random aspects to what kind of mutations are more likely to occur?

    I'm in a conversation with a friend who says that a person's emotional state or physiology is not a factor in point or shift mutations. That psychology does not have an impact on mutations at all is that true ? have there ever been any clinical studies on where or why the mutations occur? Is there a psychological emotional or mental aspect to these anomalies?

    What's a codon?

    • @MinxInSinx
      @MinxInSinx 3 роки тому +1

      Codon is the name given a stretch of the three nucleotides.
      You know, one of A, C, G, or T, three of which in a row. That code for a specific amino acid, and so the genetic code is made up of units called codons where you have three nucleotides that code for a specific amino acid next to another three nucleotides, another three nucleotides, and another three nucleotides. And the cellular machinery, again the ribosome, that comes through and reads that genetic code, plugs in the correct amino acid that corresponds to each of the triplet code that's in the codon.

    So if i'm right then any one of these mutations can actually case a false negative DNA test as it will not loo like the child and the fathers DNA is exactly the same. And this is actually very common to happen, right?

    • @je6874
      @je6874 7 років тому

      Amber Coles That's not how it works... mutations are more common than you think so the accuracy of any paternity test would be significantly less than it is in reality

    • @May04bwu
      @May04bwu 7 років тому

      The people who do the tests know it's not gonna be 100% the same and they expect some mutations here and there. I believe there are some specific stuff/markers they look for on the X chromose, but that's just my guess. Haven't read about that one yet. If anything, your kid is most likely going to inherit your mutations so that's also one of the signs your child is actually yours.

    i hope within a few years the high nitrate use in plants is seen as something that triggers these point mutations, i notice in plants you get really dark leaves with these fat white veins to the bigger fan leaves when you run real hot on nitrates, any number of mutations seem to come from it, the vein grows in wonkey, patchy, the ugly kind is called TMV and the pretty kind Variegation. You get errors where the blades grow, so they don't all meet up at the same place or in the node of the plant, giving more or less branches per node.
    The first sign you will see problems tho is those veins, beaming white thick chonky things, the leaf either side of it grows in retarded and depending what the plant wants to do things get weird, but the mutations are random by nature and really hard to predict. Im no genetic expert, but even im noticing it, its pretty obvious to me anyway, i just want to understand what im seeing..
    Thanks for making this shit easy to understand, i hate reading technical babble
    Im pretty sure it wont be long before they realise sugar is responsible for so many cancers in people, deep down all we are is sugar phosphor and nitrates, and its not the veg eating nitrate people who get sick with cancers... its the trash eating sugar fed victims of the sugar lobbyists that suffer..
