I love how Beetlejuice operates on a code where even though he’s trying to gain something from you, if he agrees to do something, he will do it and see it through. The guy is strangely reliable.
Seeing how are those dead people die (examples: the surfer who lost the lower half of his body, the guy with the hot dogs stuck in his mouth, etc.) never gets old
Something about his entrances are unnerving and yet funny at the same time 4:10 - 4:13. The other thing that is amazing to me is that Beetlejuice goes through at least 3 or 4 different tones and accents within just a minute of talking to Lydia. He does "Sherlock", his normal "human" voice, his happy "bridesmaid" voice, as well as his own gravelly, sarcastic voice. Amazing.
@@AdaBlack-w7l If anything, the Hardball character was only there as a narrative bridge to connect Beetlejuice's former wife to the rest of the movie. I did like the 70's retro look of him though. That and the cute coffee girl. But I see what you mean. I think it could have been just as good without Hardball or BJ's former wife. This film has to be evaluated on its own terms. Compared to the original Beetlejuice, Michael Keaton seems a bit old and not nearly as "energetic," meaning hyper as hell. But maybe he hung out too long after getting walloped by that sandworm and lost some of his moxy.
The way he played beetlejuice it just doesn't feel right. Compare his entrance here with his entrance in the first movie. He had so much more energy. Yeah its been 35 years but still.

It's spelled Betelgeuse but pronounced like Beetlejuice. It was also how he got Lydia to say his name in the first movie. A Beetle holding a jug of orange juice.
mediocre at best. Beetlejuice 1988 is the only beetlejuice. This one seems like someone trying to be Beetlejuice and failed but it's Michael Keaton. Zero energy in this film.

How about the guy in the Santa suit all burned up. LOL
The surfer dude might have even died by the same shark considering the matching bite marks.
That surfer guy looked a lot like Spicolli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High
5:56 I just realized this implies Beetlejuice set up his office right next to Lydia’s old house (or at least Netherworld adjacent)

They left this pretty open for a 3rd movie…. I would watch it
If the hiatus is anywhere near as long as it was between the first and second, much of the cast will of passed away before a third movie

Interesting how Jeremy looks so much like Tyler from "Wednesday". I wonder if Tim Burton had a childhood bully who was a skinny dude with curly hair.
