The prophet+minitaur opening throws my mind right back to one of my favorite films/soundtracks of all time: K-PAX -Taxi Ride. Meaning - very high praise! Check out the soundtrack and film if you haven't, it's atmospheric af!
Bravo ! Toujours un plaisir de promener mes oreilles sur ta chaîne UA-cam ! Et des sessions toujours très inspirantes. J’aimerais bien arriver à ton niveau ! Merci Jay ! Bruno
Beautiful! IMO the M32 is one of the very best single osc synths ever. As you noted, it has a naturally beautiful tone. But man, that Minitaur really steals the show here. Unreal how rich and full the bass tone is. Terrific work as usual. And thanks for always taking the time to add the text explanations!
This is beautiful, Jay. It could be the opening of an album or the closure. I love that one thing the most in your music - this poetic element that you use to contrast your whimsical lead melodies with dramatic chord progressions. And because of this, even a simple ambient track you perform has an accumulated potential to blow up into a Muse-like cosmic rock opera song.
I loved a lot of the ideas of the Hapax, and used it in a couple of tracks (they're on the channel). Ultimately I passed it along, but it's all about finding the right fit for the individual. And thanks!
Hard to believe that a 7 year old Synth is now commanding more money than ever and people are still paying it. But you can get great deals on used ones since the circulation rate is high.
I usually just refer to my music as ambient (when there are no drums), maybe IDM (when there are drums), and maybe hardware jams for all of it. And thanks!
I’m wondering which synth in your opinion do you think is a good partner to the Deckard’s? The Sequential Take-5 or the Oberheim TEO-5? The Take5 seems to be a little more bright like the Deckards, so thinking maybe TEO?
Deckard's can do deeper stuff, but often leans kind of thin by default. As such, I'd pick something that is inclined to a thicker sound. Of the two you mentioned, I'd consider Take 5 first, because the Oberheim filter always sounds a bit thinner/reedier to me. But I'm sure there are a ton of great synths that would pair well, depending on what you want it to do.
As far as I can tell, no. It's not even enough to get close to blowing a breaker, so compared to a hair dryer or toaster I think it's substantially less.
Man the sounds on here...kind of just enveloped me. Gorgeous.
The Moog Mother 32 arpeggio was amazing and the rest complemented so nice.

I really loved the effects on the mother 32 arpeggios, those timbres were so nice!
Yes! I had been waiting for a new piece. Moving, as usual!

Perfect. Good choice going with the Mother-32 for the arp.
You consistently compose one of the best electro-movie music I’ve heard. Greetings from Warsaw.
Thank you, Sir! Lovely, as usual.
This is Why These Machines Exist 101 by Dr. J. Hosking. Classic. Awesome.
That is beautiful, Jay! 💚
Fine piece dear Hosking,- And as usual , so superbly executed ! 🙏

Another great piece. Sounds like a hopeful coda to a prog rock concept album. 😀
Lovely!

Love the detune (or Chorus?) on the arps!
Lovely
Woweewowwow
Very nice
Bootyful.
The deckard dream is still the sexiest piece of gear...sexy and expensive
Dream jam
Fantastic, everything sounds lovely and the harmonies are sublime. Was the kick-ish sound in the first section part of the Minitaur patch?
Yeah, that low sound at the beginning is the Minitaur. And thanks as ever for being so amazing!
Wow! 🤲🏻
Гений!
Looovely, Jay! Have you tried the Hapax Sequencer (you probably have :), finally found something that really replaces my DAW

I was just about to pull the trigger on a Rev 2, but looks like the retail prices on them went up by about $500 USD this past week or two : (

🧡
Can you list the equipment? Beautiful.
Full list is in the video description. And thanks!
Old Final Fantasy vibes
I know these two are not the same exactly but i still cannot figure out why is the Decard's Dream $4000 where as the solar 42f is $2000?

@@JayHoskingThanks for your input, Jay! I greatly appreciate it! 🖖🖖
just wondering. does all this equipment draws in a lot of electricity (high costs)? thanks

What is your clock? Any time I tried playing in midi, things would inevitably glitch out of time.
Sending all sequencing and clock from the DAW to the instruments. I'm using the iRig Pro Duo to turn the USB MIDI into 5-pin MIDI.
!!!
entirely on hardware? what is sequencing the deckards dream then? and the rest?
still beautiful tho!
Whoops! My fault for not paying close enough attention. You're right: the sequencing is software!
