These cases kind of make me scared of marriage. How devasted she must feel to be left out in relationship that she thought would last a lifetime. You should totally give time to your relationship before marriage.

what even I don't think every men is like that obviously, but there is a high chance. My opinion is not based just on people I saw on tv, I am talking about real cases (relative, friends having husbands that changed completely after marriage, showing their true themselves when the contract was already signed). What I’ve learned so far about Korean marriage is, that the biggest problem lies in shaming women if they get divorced. This might be the reason why some Korean men sometimes change suddenly after the marriage. They’re like gentlemen until they got the woman the want into a marriage. Because they know that their wives wouldn’t easily ask for divorce (especially with kids), they suddenly show their true face and the women are trapped. Like Kyungho and her friend said. Other countries see divorces completely different, for some it‘s even normal that every 2nd or 3rd marriage ends like that and you go looking for someone else.

In Korea although she is seen as a gag or the jokes of the show, trust me many have admired her due to her smart, witty sense of humour! This year is definitely her year! I read many articles where she is being praised heaps for her humour capabilities and it’s great to see :) Trust me I’m sure many will realise how great of a woman she is!

oh come on, give him a break. she made him look worse than he actually is negleccting to mention that he actually works 17 hours a day and is stressed out to hell. Yeah he says some and does some insensitive things but he's superman honestly, working 17 hours a day 7 days a week. I used to work 16 hours 5 days a week and when I came home I'd be so exhausted I don't want anyone touching me either.

Sparkles in the midnight while i agree he is insensitive and borderline hurtful, there is an argument to be made that we are living in a duel income economy and that rather than force affection from him at 3 in the morning she should get off her ass and get a job so that her husband doesn't have to work as much and would have the energy she so desires. She is not blameless either imo. He may be saying those things out of a subconscious resentment he has for her. Second, I really think you underestimate just how hard he works. Ever gone on a road trip with someone? After a few hours you get tired and switch drivers right? Imagine going on a road trip by yourself everyday for 17 hours. Also, other concerns on the show of men expecting the woman to work many jobs too and the men don't care or the men have issues with working/parenting mother not giving them affection. So both genders have the same issues with communication and understanding. Anyways, I completely agree with your other points. This man is overworked and stress, if she had a job it would have been said. His mental health is prob not good he works for too long and maybe he's so stressed he doesn't wanna do skinship. He's not a horrible person, in fact, it seems like he works extremely hard for the family. A real solution could be her getting a part-time job (her kid is in school and she only has one) but no one is thinking about how stressed he is. If I was her, I'd get a divorce as fast as possible. It's not only about physical affection, he doesn't even care about her and her feelings, problems. Honestly, they need real counseling. If the counselling doesn't work, she should divorce him. He sees her as his sister. That's a hard place to come back from mentally and emotionally. On top of that. he seems to value his own thoughts and feelings above his wife. She seems to genuinely love him, and he doesn't even treat her like someone he genuinely loves. He's gonna be screwed if she ever falls out of love with him. She knows she's a catch, and there are other dudes in the world who know it, too.

Not necessarily. I've cheated on a bf when i was young and dumb, and I've also been married and been cheated on. Don't ever cheat...you feel guilty, and are mean to the innocent partner because you feel like poo. You also don't want to have physical contact with them. That can be a combination of guilt, or that you are not attracted to them. He totally seems like he cheated to me. He is also possibly resentful that he is the only one working, they are broke...and she is trying to trap him into having another kid. She seems like she is living in dreamland. They have no money, and relationship problems...will another child make that better?

hayatochan korean is well known to over worked them selves coz of financial issues. My boyfriend also works as a chauffeur, well he works in a car company in the morning start from 7 until 9 at night, he then works as a chauffeur until 12 or 1 am. A lot of chauffeurs work even harder, just like the man in this eps. And this job is not easy at all, as my bf does, he drives to certain place, waiting for drunk ppl to call, then he takes the customer home using customers' car ofc, then he needs to take bus/ train to go back. My other friend works at the club as a bartender until 4/5 in the morning. So yeah, i dun say that the husband is "normal" but it is true that ppl in south korea work that much.

I can relate to that a bit. My boyfriend and me have been dating for 4 years. We had ups and downs in the relationship, sometimes I got really insecure about it. The best advise I can give is to talk about everything. Your expectations, his expectations your plans for the future etc. And honestly don't settle for less. I am not talking about small, unimportant parts. You can always compromise on that. But don't compromise on things that are really important to you. Don't stay in a relationship that makes you unhappy. No relationship is perfect, relationships are hard work and you need to communicate. But some just don't work out. Not because someone is mean, or abusive or controlling but because the people in the relationship are just not expecting and wanting the same in and from the relationship. Sorry for the long text. Every relationship needs maintenance and constant effort. Most of the things you see in romantic movies are not true in real life. I also had illusions about relationships but now I see them in different light. The same thing goes for marriages too. I think you need to know your partner really well and it's best if you went through a lot together (good and bad situations), but even then it's not an indicator of a successful marriage. Both partners should strive to have a great marriage but if it's just one sided than, I would say, the marriage is doomed. I think a lot of people have illusions about relationships and marriage, and they end up disappointed, it's not what they have imagined and the reality becomes tough for them.
...you've seen first hand of a marriage like your parents'. Are their marriage sweet or sweet with ups and downs or something else? If you are of a single parent then that should be clear that marriages/relationships ain't all rosy.

It's not immature to want affection from your spouse...if I was her, I would have had a talk with him and ask in all seriousness if I looked unattractive and have a sisterly feelings in his eyes, and if he replied yes then I would have asked for a divorce. Because she married him as a husband not as a brother. And it doesn't matter where he is from, being affectionate, even if it is as simple as a kiss on the cheek or holding hands, is part of a healthy, normal marriage. He works from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. thats 17 hours ,he works 17 hours to support her and their child, he doesnt want another child because she had premature labor and was in the hospital for 2 months he is scared for her and because of finance situation, he comes home after 3 a.m. and sleeps to 9 a.m. thats like 4-5 hours of sleep depends on when he is home from work and people in the comment section say that she should leave him because he isnt showing affection to her. He may not show affection but he is showing true love of a man to his woman and child by working 17 hours a day paying the loan, the bills, the rent putting food on the table and securing the future of their child, he is sacrificing alot of his time on work for his family other guys at hs age are just going out and drinking but this guy is true alpha male nothing but respect. 👌👍👏👏👊👊✊✊

What I’ve learned so far about Korean marriage is, that the biggest problem lies in shaming women if they get divorced. This might be the reason why some Korean men sometimes change suddenly after the marriage. They’re like gentlemen until they got the woman the want into a marriage. Because they know that their wives wouldn’t easily ask for divorce (especially with kids), they suddenly show their true face and the women are trapped. Like Kyungho and her friend said.
Other countries see divorces completely different, for some it‘s even normal that every 2nd or 3rd marriage ends like that and you go looking for someone else.

I used to work 16 hours 5 days a week and when I came home I'd be so exhausted I don't want anyone touching me either.

Sparkles in the midnight while i agree he is insensitive and borderline hurtful, there is an argument to be made that we are living in a duel income economy and that rather than force affection from him at 3 in the morning she should get off her ass and get a job so that her husband doesn't have to work as much and would have the energy she so desires. She is not blameless either imo. He may be saying those things out of a subconscious resentment he has for her.
Second, I really think you underestimate just how hard he works. Ever gone on a road trip with someone? After a few hours you get tired and switch drivers right? Imagine going on a road trip by yourself everyday for 17 hours. Only someone who has worked like that can ever understand the kind of stress that produces. It can someone incredibly irritable.

Also, other concerns on the show of men expecting the woman to work many jobs too and the men don't care or the men have issues with working/parenting mother not giving them affection. Anyways, I completely agree with your other points. This man is overworked and stress, if she had a job it would have been said. His mental health is prob not good he works for too long and maybe he's so stressed he doesn't wanna do skinship. He's not a horrible person, in fact, it seems like he works extremely hard for the family. A real solution could be her getting a part-time job (her kid is in school and she only has one) but no one is thinking about how stressed he is. this statement is a clear indication that you have either never worked your ass off that hard or you have never had sex. sex requires quite a bit of stamina and energy especially from the male's end. There's no way you'd want sex after working 17 hours a day 7 days a week. you'd just want to eat and sleep. I used to work 16 hours a day 5 days a week, my bf knows I would cut his thing off if he even tried to come on to me in the middle of my work week.

Affection doesn't always mean sex I was referring to simple actions like being genuinely nice to her, greeting her when he comes home from work, or whatever to increase affection/maintain a healthy relationship at least. My boyfriend also works as a chauffeur, well he works in a car company in the morning start from 7 until 9 at night, he then works as a chauffeur until 12 or 1 am.
A lot of chauffeurs work even harder, just like the man in this eps. And this job is not easy at all, as my bf does, he drives to certain place, waiting for drunk ppl to call, then he takes the customer home using customers' car ofc, then he needs to take bus/ train to go back.
My other friend works at the club as a bartender until 4/5 in the morning.
So yeah, i dun say that the husband is "normal" but it is true that ppl in south korea work that much.

I can relate to that a bit. My boyfriend and me have been dating for 4 years. We had ups and downs in the relationship, sometimes I got really insecure about it. The best advise I can give is to talk about everything. Your expectations, his expectations your plans for the future etc.
And honestly don't settle for less. I am not talking about small, unimportant parts. You can always compromise on that. But don't compromise on things that are really important to you. Don't stay in a relationship that makes you unhappy. No relationship is perfect, relationships are hard work and you need to communicate. But some just don't work out. Not because someone is mean, or abusive or controlling but because the people in the relationship are just not expecting and wanting the same in and from the relationship.

Every relationship needs maintenance and constant effort. Most of the things you see in romantic movies are not true in real life. I also had illusions about relationships but now I see them in different light. The same thing goes for marriages too. I think you need to know your partner really well and it's best if you went through a lot together (good and bad situations), but even then it's not an indicator of a successful marriage. Both partners should strive to have a great marriage but if it's just one sided than, I would say, the marriage is doomed. I think a lot of people have illusions about relationships and marriage, and they end up disappointed, it's not what they have imagined and the reality becomes tough for them.

It's not immature to want affection from your spouse...if I was her, I would have had a talk with him and ask in all seriousness if I looked unattractive and have a sisterly feelings in his eyes, and if he replied yes then I would have asked for a divorce. This is so obvious i live in africa Angola here its comon for men to have more than one women in his life known as mistress unfortunely a lot of times womens tend to become submessive and used to it. He works from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. thats 17 hours ,he works 17 hours to support her and their child, he doesnt want another child because she had premature labor and was in the hospital for 2 months he is scared for her and because of finance situation, he comes home after 3 a.m. and sleeps to 9 a.m. thats like 4-5 hours of sleep depends on when he is home from work and people in the comment section say that she should leave him because he isnt showing affection to her. He may not show affection but he is showing true love of a man to his woman and child by working 17 hours a day paying the loan, the bills, the rent putting food on the table and securing the future of their child, he is sacrificing alot of his time on work for his family other guys at hs age are just going out and drinking but this guy is true alpha male nothing but respect. 👌👍👏👏👊👊✊✊
