Pilot Father and step daughter crashes into a lake! Gets lucky

- The private pilot's aircraft experienced a complete loss of engine power during climb, leading to a forced landing in a lake. Despite post-accident examination, no mechanical issues were found that could explain the power loss. Investigation couldn't determine the exact cause, but it was noted that fuel distribution may have played a role, with evidence suggesting water contamination in one wing's fuel tank and a potentially mispositioned fuel selector.

Sounds like Crash 6 doesn't get out much. 🤔
Crash 6 really needs to take a class in listening to what is being said.
That fire chief sounds confused.
This guy had a plan and a backup and flew it, ignoring everything else. Well done. Fuel mismanagement? Water in fuel? Not so much well done. Any Piper jocks able to say whether a water landing can "force" water into tanks, skewing post-crash examination?
Crash 6 sounds like the hero I need when I'm really in trouble and to haul my sorry behind out... NOT!
EDIT: "The investigation could not determine if the drain for the right wingtip fuel tank was locked open before or during impact, nor could it determine the position of the fuel selector when engine power was lost.
Probable Cause: A total loss of engine power for reasons that could not be determined because post accident examination did not reveal any evidence of pre impact mechanical malfunctions or failures that would have precluded normal operation."
The saddest thing is how the Tower can't once and clearly explain to Crash 6 what's going.
Crash 6 needs to get off frequency and go find a different job
Hard to listen to as a pilot myself
So were they okay?
Yeah they lived
So, I’m thinking “lucky crash over lake” rather than tragic….
Great point! Its a stupid title anyway let me go fix it
