    I went to a "sale" awhile back where the guy was selling used items for retail and claiming that things were brand new, but everything was out of the box. Thing about it is this he's having a garage sale he's wanting Ebay prices but without the hassle of dealing with Ebay. It's OK it's your merchandise you can ask whatever you want for it. But they see asking prices on Ebay and get it in their head stuff is actually selling at these prices and they don't take into account shipping and then the other percentages that you pay Ebay and PayPal and boxes padding your listing time ect. A good 25% is eaten up and more of you think about the taxes on your income you have to pay. So I can see both sides of that coin.

So when I list or put something for ‘’x’’ amount of dollars ... I’m not budging. And for everyone that’s says ‘’ oh well good luck’’ etc etc... I always remember I can pack all of it up and not sell anything and it won’t matter to me at the end of the day. I’m the type that I would rather keep it all before get ripped off and lose money. I had a CD that was worth $120. It sold for $100-120 multiple times on eBay and a guy came to my house and said I could do like $30 😂. I straight up told him, ‘’ I’ll burn this CD in the yard before I give it to you for $30.and make absolutely nothing on it and lose what I paid for it myself. obviously the title meant nothing to me, watch this channel all the time, Matt is a very nice guy and is very polite to the Garage Sale sellers, its just a title. I've been selling on ebay 13 years and if someone is asking too much or realizes im a reseller, no biggie, I wish them the best of luck

  • @TheWeightsOver
    @TheWeightsOver 4 роки тому +5

    Matt, I gotta ask...was that guy's stuff listed as a "yard sale" or a "look at all this stuff I own and intend to keep"?? Lol.
    I see a lot of the comments are 50/50 on this one. Yes, I would personally be offended if someone listed their USED items at retail/more than retail prices. If people are valuing their items that high, they're not ready to sell them. Which is fine, because they can always list it themselves on eBay for top dollar and wait. No harm, no foul. But advertising a garage sale where people take their time and gas to come to only to find everything there (which wasn't even much) is considerably overpriced...yes, that's insulting.

    • @TheWeightsOver
      @TheWeightsOver 4 роки тому

      Point being, if someone wants to list the absolute top dollar on something, they should list that first in their advertising before having people physically show up. Or at least advertise that most items there are "top price/valuable" items. It's a common courtesy typical of what the average person considers a "yard sale". Just my worthless 2 cents.
