- Return flight from my First Solo Landaway, flying Cardiff to Bristol.
In this video I route out of Cardiff via the Wenvoe VRP, enjoying stunning views of Cardiff before crossing the water towards Avonmouth.
Once at Bristol I am required to hold and complete several orbits to give way to other landing and departing traffic.
This flight was rather tricky with turbulent conditions that made it difficult to maintain altitude.
Great landing & support for those learning
There's a simplicity to your videos that I like. Good inspiration ahead of hopefully my first lesson this weekend out of EGBJ. Cardiff will definitely be in my go-to list of possible NAVs since it's currently my homebase.

Enjoyed this one Chris I’ve ended up moving from EGBJ and now studying out of EGSY ( St Athan) so the Cardiff radar controllers really are a pleasure and have a lot of experience with students. I hope you pop over again soon.

I know a chap who is based out of St.Athan after gaining his PPL in Bristol. I keep meaning to fly there, so yes it's a possibility! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Cheers Josh, yeah threw a spanner in there slightly! I wasn't happy with my altitude keeping. Got thrown around a little over Cardiff and during the orbits at Bristol, but overall it went well for the first landaway!
@@CJThePilot at that stage of training that’s completely fine. You flew safe and shown good airmanship. Even after passing my altitude keeping needs a brush up.
I guess it's good to demand high standards in yourself 👍

Great video! Quick question, why are the callsigns of other aircraft omitted from the ATC audio?
