First Private Pilot Flight | Getting A PPL | First Flight After Passing

- My first flight since gaining my PPL! A short yet highly enjoyable flight to build confidence and consolidate on my learning to this point.
Route is a VFR departure via Cheddar Reservoir VRP, Glastonbury, Wells, Shepton Mallet and Chew Valley VRP.
There is even time for a little house spotting, it has to be done!

Hi chris, just found you video… looks like your enjoying your new passion. I’ve just bought al the literature and completed 3 hrs so far and am loving it. Currently flying out of redhil because of work but live in the Forest of Dean. Would love to come up with you one weekend if you have any plans in the foreseeable future

Congratulations Chris. Great feeling isn't it when you can fly yourself after the test. Enjoyed the video and the commentary (nearly as much talking as me!) Loved the little excited voice as you flew over home 👍😎

Lovely day for it. Seeing the A/H INOP sticker gives me a chance to repeat a story. I had a experience/basic handlling trip in a Chipmunk a few years ago and the Artificial Horizon went squiffy. I reported it to the pilot who replied with words to to the effect of "Never mind looking at that, there's an actual horizon out the window.". He had a fair point :-)
Yes precisely, from memory the Artificial Horizon was playing up for a while before this particular flight. As you say it's VFR, so there is a perfectly useful horizon outside to use 😉

@@CJThePilot we've been journeying together, both in Cherokees and both towards PPL but on opposite sides of the globe and I passed my Flight Test only 3 weeks ago so the feeling is mutual! Your (real) videos really have been both encouragement and a challenge to me in my flying, especially through lock-downs and the down times. Keep them coming!!

Well done Chris!! I’m sure that first flight after passing the checkride must be the best feeling ever. I’m actually training at Bristol and was excited to you see flying from there too.

Well done Chris on getting your wings, now it's time to really start learning, I did my simulation in the 737 and you can watch it on my channel, excuse the landings due to ankle problems I was all over the white dotted line lol. love the outtakes "god farting" lol.

Cheers Gareth, I think the "skills test, thoughts, tips etc" video will have to be for a later edition. Unfortunately Peppa and George had to sit this one out due to their TV commitments. Skye from Paw Patrol had to dash off for a ruff ruff rescue 👍
Was this yesterday Chris ? It was a little bumpy up by EGBJ yesterday but a great day to fly apart from all the hot air balloons that were up
It was a while ago, but bumpy in places nonetheless! Sounds like you enjoyed your flight.
Yeah really enjoyed it just an emergency on 27 and I got a little work overload resetting for 36 but thank fully the instructor got me in the right place in a very busy pattern. I’ve a long way to go but watching your vids are great for a sneak pic of what’s to come ;)
