I think perhaps the best version I have ever heard... So many other versions I have heard seem to lack the emotion... the longing in the song. And so many feel like they rush through it. This captures everything the song encapsulates for me... at just the right speed to take it all in and ponder. Brilliant

I really like the sound of a bass singing Ave Maria. Although the song itself seems to be intended for female voices, when a male sings it it makes it very special because he is praising and acknowledging the female mother figure. There's that mother-son connection. Hope you get what I mean.
I like your performance very much, especially the emotions and also clean legato line. I am a lyric bass and sing this in Bb above this F key (one fourth higher). I think Schubert meant it for b-dur. It is interesting to see what a higher legato line does to a bass timbre. I always liked the stuff in my typical tessitura (powerful bass to bass-baritone), but recently found the taste of higher lines. Where I once loved the deep strength and darkness, I now love the high softness and tenderness.
Damn those high notes are impressive to understand the skill this man possesses you must also be a bass and struggle for anything above Ab3. His D4 is smooth and perfect and that is the best part.
I love your beautiful voice and am so glad you've shared this. Just wondering, why do you sing the first verse twice? The second verse is the most powerful, no?

Good job. Easy enough key for a Baritone like myself to perform , as well.

Nicholas' Trombone I have a very deep voice and Ab3 is pretty much out of the question for me. Hence, I play the tuba.
