My mom just passed away, she loved this song. I am attempting to sing it at the funeral. It’s hard not to cry while singing it, but I am determined to sing it for her.
Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.
Hello Freya, today I sang Ave Maria from Schubert in the funeral of my mother of law. It was her wish that I sing and it was the first time I auditioned. I was very nervous, I was trembling, but the response was very good. Your tutorial played a crucial role in my preparation.
Ave Maria, gratia plena, Maria, gratia plena, Maria, gratia plena, Ave, Ave, Dominus, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus, Et benedictus fructus ventris (tui), Ventris tui, Jesus. Ave Maria! Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora pro nobis peccatoribus, Ora, ora pro nobis; Ora, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, Nunc et in hora mortis, In hora mortis nostrae. In hora, hora mortis nostrae, In hora mortis nostrae. Ave Maria!
I am singing this for a funeral next friday. I will solo it and where I was intimidated and not very confident in it, after listening to your teachings and practicing along with you I feel so much more enabled. Your help is invaluable
You remind me of my choir director from high school. I loved her dearly because she was so warm, yet pedantic about how we should be singing. RIP, Mrs. B! I'm thinking of performing Ave Maria for a crowd who won't see it coming. Thanks for the instruction and the nostalgia.
Hi Freya! You're such a great teacher.. These opera tutorials are one of a kind.. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making these awesome videos. Keep them coming please.. and please consider teaching us how to sing Caro Mio Ben!
First: your voice is amazing!!! I am from Uruguay, thank you very, very much for share your know how, I am a bass and I am not a singer I simply like to sing and one of my dreams is can sing this song correctly.
Que linda... te agradezco la clase, tengo que cantarla por primera vez, necesitaba consejos... no entiendo mucho el inglés pero al escucharte cantar, entendí la intencionalidad e intensidad en las notas, ya que es muy conmovedora. Gracias a tí y tu pianista. Saludos desde Chile.
Thank you very much for this. My beloved and hardly missed husband is imprisoned and without this song I would go crazy because I miss him so much. It feels like someone stabbed me with the knife into my heart but the holy mother got me out of this every time I sing or listen to this. I'm not the best singer bt with your skills it sounds way much better than before. Thanks a lot, especially in these hard times for me.
I feel great when I found your channel. For the first time I learn how to sing Schubert Ave Maria the right way. I will sing it solo at the holy matrimony of my friend's daughter. I have one month to learn and fix my singing technique and prepare myself. Thank you so much for sharing the tricks and tips. You are really a good teacher Ms Freya..
Hi Freya, thank you so much for your patience in teaching us, my dream is to be able to sing opera properly. But I can’t afford to go to take classes, ave Maria it’s my favorite of all opera songs. ❤❤
Thank you Freya for being so patient & technical in breaking it down & repeating it over & over again! A treasure! I always considered this song/hymn most difficult. But, yr Vlog highlighted my Coach's techniques...& I got it! Now, it's imprinted in my head! Next? I'll onsess over it for a few weeks until I'm content!
Thank you so much for this video. I stopped singing since 2020, and next month is my friend wedding, they asked me to sing this song, and this video helped me refresh my memory about how to sing properly. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your wonderful class...You are an excellent teacher and you have a beautiful voice...Many thanks also to the accompanying pianist...It is very good
You're beautiful and your voice too! This piece sits exactly on my passaggio (around D5), it's so difficult, specially singing it in Latin because of the vowels. I've heard a lot of singers (myself included) going flat many times in this key (Bb), specially on D5, and on the notes in "plena" . Thanks for the tips!
i was just looking for a great rendition - this girl is one of the top I've found so far. Pianist seemed to want to keep playing and not have to keep stopping! :D
Hi Freya,I will be singing Schubert's Ave Maria for the feast of the Assumption coming up shortly. Thank you for this fine video. You gave me many helpful hints and I will be referring to it many times. Your rendition is just beautiful and your phrasing impeccable. I am a lyric soprano and B flat is within my comfortable range. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. God bless.
Thank you very for this tutorial. I love to sing classical music. This is one of my favorite songs. Thanks for your expertise...Hoping that I can follow how you sang it. God bless!
HI Freya, wow you have such a beautiful voice! Your tutorials are the best I've seen! Please would you consider giving a tutorial on How to sing 'Con Te Partrio' Kind regards Wendy x
Ave Maria Gratia plena Maria, gratia plena Maria, gratia plena Ave, ave dominus Dominus tecum Benedicta tu in mulieribus Et benedictus Et benedictus fructus ventris Ventris tuae, Jesus. Ave Maria
How'd it go? Are you a singer? Did you take special lessons other than UA-cam? I'm not a singer (bit sing decently) and was just asked to perform this at a wedding for a cousin
Thanks so much, i have just de ide tonight sing it and the I found this great tutorial. I never ventured into the classical repertorio but I really wanted to try and I will.
Hello Freya, this is very helpful lesson. Lately I have sung this at one wedding and a funeral, and maybe regularly doing this at our church. I can play this in piano but not too comfortable playing and singing at the same time. What is your advise without compromising the quality/right way of singing it I learned from you? Thanks for sharing this lesson for free. You’re doing a good job and you have beautiful and angelic voice too! I like the piano accompaniment too! Good job both!
Not a singer myself, but I think there’s a good reason that classical singers aren’t usually also the pianist for their performances. It seems like playing piano would change your posture and how your muscles sit-plus, you’re sitting down! Plus, your attention is split. Not sure if there’s a great way to combo playing and singing without making some big compromises, which you already know because that’s your problem right now. Maybe you could record your piano-playing ahead of time and then sing along? Idk, not a singer myself, but the solution seems to be just admitting your limits.
love it keep on making these. great to sing along with. also provide some sheet music, simple to play so we can practice. I' m sure you can find some out of copyright (pre 1935). great job.

May she find rest in the bosom of the Lord🙏
Thank you for your kind words and prayers. The funeral was beautiful, the songs were amazing.
