I am 60 years old. I’ve listened to thousands of professional singers in one genre or another. This man, to me, was gifted with the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. I don’t suspect I will hear one better before I leave this world.
You should listen to Jason Gould. It’s Barbra Streisand’s son. It’s like Josh Groban, but clearer and more emotional. Josh has an incredible voice. I studied music for years, and I’ve only met one man in person who’s voice was as clean as his. But Jason Gould is the next level.
A friend asked me if I had to listen to only one song for the rest of my life what would it be. I said "Ave Maria". He said but you are not Christian. I said so what, it is beautiful. I am an atheist.
No one I have ever heard singing in my life (and I am 77 years old and worked in a school for the arts) can compare to Josh Groban. He is a living tribute to all that is music.
There is absolutely no doubt he was given a tremendous gift to uplift humanity by God in these turbulent times lacking the beauty of music, peace and kindness.

I would put this one slightly behind Perry Como. But, I grew up listening to that version and it reminds me of my Grandma..This is powerful and just slightly behind to me.

This was my mother's favorite song and was sung at her funeral, God bless her soul. After her death I was working and thinking about her. The music was playing in the background and all of a sudden the music stopped and began playing Ave Maria for about 10 seconds. I believe it was a sign to tell me not to worry about her. It still makes me cry when I hear this song.
