Nice work, very clean.
Very useful tutorial, most important thing is lining up those anchor points correctly and adding enough solder (without bridging) above and below the connector flex on the pins. I used a thicc solder tip to get 2 pins at a time, very doable not difficult at all!

What tip are you using for your Hakko?
I've been using the micro pencil doing each individual pad.
On my hakko I used the thicc tip that wedges and gets thin at the end, the t18 c2 should do it!

I have the same issue 😂on my kids iPad 7 can't get a charging ic to fix the iPad 😑 I think a dodge fan attachment caused it😮
Knowing that the charge port is susceptible to breaking, I'm not surprised that Apple has this part soldered in.

Why the hell wouldn't you just buy the flex cable with the port? It's literally at most $7 and you don't need all the hassle
This is the flex cable with the port attached. The portion he's showing is how you attach the opposite end of the flex to the motherboard/logicboard. This is the only option for the 7th generation ipad. It doesn't have a plug-n-play connector on the end like some other components.
