AliExpress or temu has these tools very cheap. The screwdrivers don’t last very long but they are enough quality for 1 or 2 replacements, the torx drivers get dull very easily so be careful.

No. Apple puts cycles counter in that chip board which is re-used in this video. iPhone 11 or early iphone have been cracked, there are a hardware tool can rewrite the cycles. 12 seemed not. It's said to have been cracked.
And battery efficiency should not reture to 100 so fastly, according other video i have seen. It takes time. This video skiped that long time and show the perfect result.

The problem with genuine Apple parts is that it requires the serial number of your device, as well as unnecessary calibration that shouldn't be a thing when doing phone repairs. Plus, it's possible that they won't stock iPhone 12 battery replacements on the Self-Repair Program that they currently have.
Watch the video. Then you can see how he changed the connector on the battery itself with the ic to tell the phone what the capacity is. The ic on the battery connector is paired to the motherboard and thats the only way to restore the function.

Amazing repair, but sadly makes me miss the days where battery swapping was as easy as just taking it out and installing a new one without involving the BMS.
The magic you mean is like that... cool. Replacing any battery, don't forget to throw away the original socket. Just throw away the battery that is no longer in good condition. Nice
