Thank-you Wisdom For Life, sincerely. I've entered my 70's now and I have more time to explore my previously squelched sense of wonder. Running a business, raising a family and being a responsible and busy member of society did not help expand my once endless thirst for understanding "what exactly is life". The last I recall I was 8 years old, lying face down in the grass and parting the blades to make passages for travel-bound ants. I always compared my life to theirs imagining there was little difference. A voice told me "You'll always have an awareness of life in the world, no matter what". It was a thought deeper than my ability to comprehend and yet I've never forgotten it. Fast forward 60 some years and I've just put my ear buds in, reclined in my comfy chair, turned on your video and I'm exploring through the grass once again. Thank-you deeply.

Regarding the video, in the same way of this truth - our limited knowledge thinks that there was a big bang. It’s hard for us to believe in infinity. We are always thinking of a beginning and an end. We are also bound by gravity and direction.

The more you learn about space, the more freaky and bizarre it becomes. There has to be a truly mind-boggling amount of other life forms out there, wondering also if they're alone too. Just the thought of that excites me so much, my imagination goes into overdrive just thinking about what they could possibly be like! Maybe due to the sheer size of the universe, other civilisations will never meet each other. All part of a bigger plan I think in all honesty. Too bad I'll never get a lot of answers in my lifetime but I'm excited for all the future generations that are going to be discovering so much. As the saying goes 'born too late to explore the planet, born too early to explore the universe.' Rather appropriate for all of us right here right now sadly. In terms of space exploration, we're pretty much at the equivalent of creating the wheel or discovering how to make fire- that's how early we are in our quest for answers.

"There has to be a truly mind-boggling amount of other life forms out there"
Pray we humans are the only intelligent life in the universe because if there's more intelligent lifeforms in the universe then the best case scenario for humans is where our expansion in the universe is limited and controlled by those more intelligent lifeforms out of self-preservation. There's many darker scenarios especially after those intelligent lifeforms recognize the long ongoing human history of lying, violence, cheating, stealing, warmongering and greed. Any intelligent life in the universe would easily classify humans as untrustworthy and dangerous or simply a monster type of species.

There's a reason why people who cling to Fermi's Paradox are so stupid: They don't Want to admit that there are other intelligent beings already here, upon this planet: Earth. Denial doesn't make you a respectable scientist. We don't need the approval of the Church of Science. We Know they are here, and orbiting Earth as you read this.

Society is braking down.. and with that goes respect .. taking things for granted .. it’s a long list.. but along those lines. Great video, a thought provoking and enlightening commentary. As a modern Pagan I'm struck by the parallels invoked herein with my spirituality; that as a human being I am part of something very much bigger than myself, ultimately created by it on a biological, chemical and physical level as well as sustained by it throughout my life. A life interconnected with every other form of life I know and those I don't know. And when that life is through I will STILL be here, in another chemical and physical form.

Wow! This is by far the best set of thoughts and ideas about the topic I’ve ever watched. I’ve also been thinking about the physical limitations and our extremely limited understanding of life and physics to have any contact with other civilizations. It’s also very likely that there has been multiple rises and falls of civilization on earth, we are humans and most likely to destroy ourselves before progressing enough to even understand the inter workings of the universe. It’s also amazing how micro and macro worlds are similar, our universe might just be a cell of an organism and we are juts microbes that think they are intelligent, not knowing what true intelligence is.. We are made out of elements as old as the universe and are truly eternal in a sense. I just hope that our consciousness/soul is also preserved after our physical death, and continue its existence in a different dimension. Thank you for the hard work you put into this great video! Your videos are true masterpieces 👍🏻

Thanks! and thanks for the lengthy comment. To me, we need to grow our limited understanding of what life is and what intelligence is. I think the whole galaxy and universe has some type of intelligence that we just can't understand from our tiny perspective...
As far as the soul/consciousness.. I believe our conscious awareness carries on after death. As you said, we are eternal. Thanks for your comment. Also, I clipped the other video you commented on.. might take awhile to process, but you're right - that should be removed.

You perfectly worded what I've always thought. Thinking about what would everything look like if you kept zooming out evokes such a unique feeling that nothing else can bring out. Are we just a cancer cell to some organism? Does our consciousness continue in another form of energy? Is time infinite if you move faster than light? It's all so fascinating. I wish even if it was just visually, that we could see anywhere in the universe. It would be so amazing if you could get close ups of what any planet would really look like if you were standing there.

We could be the only civilization in the Milky Way (kind of what I’m inclined to believe), and that may be the case with every galaxy, and there’d still be ~2 trillion civilizations in the obs. universe. Space is nuckin futs. I have been a space junky for a long time, and I still wonder “what the hell are we a part of?” Given the fractal nature of everything we discover, quarks to galaxy clusters, I imagine it’s something way weirder than we’ll ever be able to dream up.

@@livingart2576the problem with that analogy is that acts as if all of space is habitable. It's not. A lot of space is hostile and chaotic and the fact we've made it this far without some cosmic "fuck you" is absolutely absurd to think about. We've gone from using stones and sticks to having tiny computers in most people's pockets, in which there is limitless information at their disposal at the press of a button. We've watched other habitable planets be completely irradiated by their star, be victim to cosmic collisions, be too close to supernova, be crushed black holes, etc. and in the blink of an eye those planets are gone. It's not too far to believe we're the only civilization in the Milky Way.

Thanks for the comment. I agree that we will never quite understand this thing that we are in. Like cells in a body never understand what they are a part of. But when we do find out (I believe there is more after this human form life), it will blow our mind/consciousness. We are all one and all eternal and that’s just beyond our limited selves at the moment. See you next time Ben!

Although it started as a joke first, I questioned if a cell is alive and small to us, couldn’t our universe just be alive and a “cell” to a larger alive being. So couldn’t put universe just be a cell to a large squirrel? Hence I dubbed it squirrel matter. The more I thought about it the more it seemed possible to me. We are giving birth to a higher intelligence...let that sink in. Now what are the odds that something achieved a level of intelligence as high as ours and didn't do the same. Those that abuse capital letters not only emphasise nothing but the hysteria of the abuser, they also declare the abuser to be a lunatic

@@TonyEnglandUK I am sorry. I could easily explain it to you in German, but then you wouldn't understand anything. I try it therefore again briefly - explicitly for you - in English: By the construction of machines the human being can augment his sensorium (telescopes etc.) and - as one sees now - also his cognition (AI); in this respect we are in a completely different position than ants.

Excellent! With all that is happening in society, the knowledge of the universe reminds the mind that creation is a reminder of the connection to purpose by the force that made it. A war of appreciation serves to offset the rising of the next day. God is the ultimate artist.

      "Wrung"(sic)?
Try rung wrist yes write wringer yes, but wrope wrung and wrascal no, not that it matters, You ring and have rung bells and wring and have wrung out clothes, ring make bell-like sound wring - extract water from not the same as wring bell, bot that it matters in the least, unless the niceties of english are crucial
you can ring a bell but not 'W'ring a bell. I guess the W is used in extract water wring to distinguish it from make sound ring, so rung not 'W'rung. i'll wring his neck or wring the neck of a chicken, but not wring a bell. Funny old lingo english and you'll get the hang of it one day but don't ape the kinderlander(Americans) that cannot speak read nor write English to save their lives. Well might you ask why wrong and not rong?

Video appreciated. My recommendation is for people to get busy making their beds, paying their bills, cleaning their houses, caring for their loved ones, and doing some public service. The only way to gain understanding is by putting in the work and doing your best. All the advances seem to be done by the people who are willing to burn the midnight oil and have a dogged persistence. Knowledge is good but you don't get it by quantum mechanics.
