- Hey truckers! 2 weeks ago we did a podcast about how to avoid costly repairs and the only way to make this happen is by knowing your way around your semi truck. In our shop, we were replacing a turbo that had blown on an engine and thought it was a good opportunity to share some of the signs with you. We also show you how to access the turbo and what to look for if you are going to test the quality of your turbo.

I have a question for you I have a Freightliner 2013 DD15 and it's eating about a gallon of oil every thousand miles the motor was just rebuilt 300,000 miles ago little over a year and a half I'm hoping it's not the motor but I was wondering can the turbo consume that much oil and a thousand miles what else could be the problem
Does some of that oil damage the air compressor through the inlet
I have a 1994 international, I am getting oil in the intake. Turbo does not have any play what so ever in any way. Drain pipe from turbo is not clog, any idea what could be wrong with it?
Hey guys wondering if you guys could locate me the vcads and software for a 1995 d12 engine my buddy in Belarus said that engine was used in the early fh or have any leads on it only can find vcads pro for 1997 and up and it's has the volvo vt 414 6 speed split gear box with crawlers gears money isn't a option for parts of info

My truck went in the shop in February just got it out yesterday went in for front cover leaking they had it torned down to the gears now I have no power he had a computer hooked up and said my turbo is bad turbo was good when it went in could it be something else

🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ I'm dealing with exhaust manifold leak and possible bearing issue with either the alternator, idle or ac compressor pulleys. But I did the soapy water on the manifold and bubbled like crazy at the joint between cylinder 2 and 3. Original manifold. Wasn't a problem until I replaced the water pump. Must've disturbed the seal. Also saw bubbles from the front side of the turbo when I sprayed. Problems problems problems 😤😤

I have a 2014 Mack with the mp8 I noticed white smoke 💨 from my exhaust then oil on the exhaust pipe behind my turbo later . Everybody tells me is my turbo . I took off the turbo off and I don’t see the play like the one you had . Could it be something else or is it just going out . What are your thought

Sounds like, as long as the fins don't touch inside it is good. It needs a bit of play to function I think he said.

That’s not true dude at all.
Until now, I would not have known low oil is sign of failing turbo.... Probably in shop because of oil issue?
