  • Kate and I compare the history of the Ozarks with modern day Overlanding. We enjoy history and the iconic structures like the Union Schoolhouse, Oark General Store, and Bub's cabin. We have imagined the complexities and challenges that the Frontier life offered in our recent trips to the Ozarks. We hope this video will inspire others to do their own research on the history of this area we enjoy. We also hope it encourages people to contribute to preservation efforts as well as helping to keep the forest clean. So future generations can enjoy it also. Thanks for watching!

I guess my wife and I are weird to. We love stopping at old cemeteries and exploring the Ozarks and Ouachitas. Love your channel.

One can become humbled very quickly visiting old cemeteries. Mortality rates were incredibly high especially for infants and child birth/labor. Makes us really appreciate all of our modern conveniences yet convicts us that we have too much.

This Louisiana boy loves him some Ozarks. So much so that I’ll end up retiring in the area one day. I spend most of my vacation days up there.

Thank you very much! We felt this video would be loved by a “nitch” group of people. Those who love it appreciate the history and the comparison to overlanding is the first I’ve ever seen. We also hope folks will realize it’s up to us to keep it clean and help preserve it.

@@EXPERIENCINGARKANSAS Our kids love to camp n overland as well. They are grown now but we made sure to teach them to leave it better than you found it. These beautiful places we all love to see and experience is a privilege that could easily be taken from us if we fail to respect it.

Great video, we have stopped at several of the graveyards and looked at the names and dates and wondered what there life was like in those areas.
