I grew up in Vancouver. This video speaks to Robert Pickton and the pig farm murders of street workers. The girls on the street were telling VPD that there was a serial killer at work but they were largely ignored due to their lifestyle choice and other issues. It was a big story in Canada. As a side note, Robert Pickton was recently killed by another prisoner in his federal prison.
Sam, you have a really good sense of how to tackle challenging subjects. Ive enjoyed your work on the nexus between these ticklish issues and the culture and customs of Thailand, its people, expats and visitors. Really well done mate.
Agreed. Respect for Sam and the effort put into the video. However, it suffers from Pattaya myopia and keeps propagating an old stereotype that does not generally apply to Thai culture anymore.
I think the very communal buddhist upbringing of most Thais, alongside relative poverty and society helping eachother really allows for a lot less judgement, and acceptance/forgiveness of everyone...That said, some of the craziest fights I've ever seen have been between the workers in Pattaya 😂..
Good vid mate,so many times in the UK people say "oh you go to Thailand"..looking down on you because of the Western thoughts on it,as a country because of the industry, yet they've never been. They know nothing.👍
oldest profession in the world. Testing, taxing, and keeping everyone safe is the way to go like the Dutch have been doing for years, but unfortunately many windows in the red light are disappearing. Controlling it, and making it legal keeps the pimps out of the game, and there will be a lot less trafficking as well
As they say one of the oldest professions and still the least spoken about but so many things that people dont want to talk about but always good when it comes to news of course
Well that was unexpected. What a brilliant video. You are quite right, when it is legalised and becomes 'normal' then society has to take notice. Far too often these cases have been ignored. Another problem in the USA is how they treat Native Americans as they have a very high rate of disappearances of young women that are completely ignored. Normal girls, taken off the streets, murdered and left. Terrible. Someone mentioned it in another comment, you sound very professional and the accent helps 👏
Well, the US has it all backwards. Compare statistics from e.g. Germany with USA and you will find, that the US numbers are way higher when it comes to crime against women. Why, because this old profession is legal in Germany, in fact, it is handled as a regular job, with healthcare. If the US would not be as close minded, things would be way better.
I don't understand why non citizens have so much to say negatively about a country where they don't live. Green River killings happened long before DNA was accepted as a way to solve crimes. It would mean much more to me if you covered problems in your own country... just saying.

That's not a very positive video, Sam. This is not your wheel house. It's not you.

Well done Thailand and Australia are definitely in the right. The US is so backward in someways.

Australia should legalise recreational cannabis. Prohibition causes crime.
Next...
Well said mate 👍👍
Thai girls need love too ❤
I agree. Thailand is safer.
