I LEFT my love BEHIND in Thailand 💔
Farewell Pattaya, farewell Dongtan Beach, farewell Pratamnak, it's time to leave Thailand. Today's video is about saying goodbye to Thai friends, expats friends who've sustained me through last year, as well as spending time with the people I really love.
Long term viewers may appreciate this video as it harks back to Gone Adrift early days, to when I was packing up my life back in Australia - when I quit my career, sold all my possessions, sold my car and headed into the unknown. I show a glimpse into what Keis and I got up to during the CovidLockdowns and share openly about some of the deeper reasons that lead me to pack up my life in my home country and move to thailand to live.

This is the 4th and final episode of my 'Sailing Thailand' series, where I was invited to join Sailing Doodles old 50 foot Beneteau Oceanis and learn to sail from Pattaya to Koh Samet and back. Damm bro has it really been 18 months since the move already! Time has flown by mate! Keep growing bro you still got this!
Cheers mate, 🙂
I’m about to fly in to Pattaya to party for 10 days how much will it cost me roughly let’s say I’ll be into for the 10 days not holding back
Please, schedule a day/night off in the middle. We seen so many bike accidents and carnage through the holiday season. Be careful of yourself ok!
Excuse me sir, but I was wondering what your age is?
@@one-more-land 38 sir
@GoneAdrift alright, you look good! Have a nice day
Traveling to all of southeast Asia for 18 years for good times with beautiful thai and other countries girls mostly freelancers but now older and moving there to retire an older lady with no children that works making an honest living maybe never married would be my preference for the kind of relationship for me a traditional lady that just would like a good man in her life who caring and respectful partying and the bar nightlife is all behind me that's what I would be looking for when I move there I'm looking for a companion as you well know women like this are social outcast in Asia by friends and family if they are 35 to 50 plus I enjoy your video and just subscribed would love to get your feedback on older men moving to southeast Asia and what countries Were this type of relationship can happen for me Combadia first then the Philippines and Maysiyia then Thailand great video just subscribed
Hey Sam. When we met in Danny’s Bamboo Bar I mentioned that I lived in Gossy for 23 years. Nice to see it again, but don’t want to live there again lol. Safe travels, and maybe see you around when you’re back in Pattaya. Rob. Kiwi/ Aussie.
@@rob_1965 hope you’re well mate!! 🥝
I just arrived in Bangkok 4 hours ago. If anyone wants to hang out tonight just let me know, gonna sleep for about 3hrs now.
Didn't know the social worker background. Probably very stressful at times. Glad you may have found your place in Chon Buri. Safe travels.
Great video mate, the move has definitely been good to you. you look far healthier and happier now. Definitely understand the love for Pattaya I've finally made the move here after wanting to for years. When you get back over here hit me up would like to meet you for a beverage or two and pick your brain about youtube.
Being back home is the right place for you at this time. Another stop on your pathway. May you find what you are looking for. In the past the Central Coast has been referred to as God's Country.

Yo Sam just seeing the difference between now and when you where in sydney you look much happier and healthier bro keep doing what you love.
Great video, Sam. Geez, your words saying , "You know where your heart belongs; that's 100% in Pattaya (Jomtien)", struck a cord very similar to my feelings. Every time I come back to Australia, Thailand is in my thoughts. I genuinely miss the country. I have a 4-year plan to move to Pattaya (Pratumak), but I am working hard to turn that into a 2 -year plan or less. Although even working full-time in Australia, I can still get back to Pattaya approx 8-10 times per year. So it's not all sadness. On 7th February, I am back in my happy place in Pattaya. Counting the days. It truly is my second home. Keep up the great content!
8 trips a year is crazy!!! Amazing mate!
@@GoneAdrift fortunate enough to have my own company. Required to attend meetings and occasional days on the tools here and there in Australia. This enables me to come to Pattaya and work from a laptop. But I can only stay for 2 weeks to coincide with the meetings. 8-10 trips is the sweet spot for visits. I did meet you one trip with Nick in Soi 7.
Brilliant video mate, you really are excellent at creating content, well done 👍
32 yrs of visiting thailand never once did i refer to a friend as a girlfriend. as much as i respected them and appreciated their honesty, company i knew that love was never really the key to the relationships. for me i could never believe the affection was real it always came down to the almighty $$ cheers enjoy Pattaya. ps i lived in soi 6 10 yrs and silom in bangok, ko samui so have seen it all dated them all. In saying that i did let one get away that i regret but she has flourished in Italy 😢❤
Enjoyed your Thailand content, especially the videos where you were getting established in Pattaya. Take care of yourself
I'm thankful that you guys, and the boat, did not incur any damage during the storm. I have a feeling that you will remember this journey for a long time, Sam. Thanks again for documenting it.

It totally is. It's not cooked so you have to be super careful about anything, even water, that's ever got on it.
yep remember when you were selling up in Australia before you went to Thailand. I have also been in Thailand 18 months home for 6 weeks over Christmas and head back to Bangkok in 2 weeks.
