Very lucky to work with you both. Shall we do another?
Please please please do, two creative geniouses in a wonderfull harmony! 😍
YES!!!!!
remake of the peanut butter solution?
so much YES!
I would watch
I just love the idea of Emily ending up in the middle of a marathon and looking around like "Oh, all you guys are going to the premiere too?"
LMAOOO there was a lot of foot traffic you didn't see
Watching a whole new career develop.
Not only blossoming, it is bearing amazing fruit, lasting collab-potential friendships, and tasty harpisms.
Living out my third-career fantasies watching this happen.
thank you so much for being here with us 🥹❤
I think we can all say, we're all so excited to see Emily get her hands into more cinematic soundtracks and that we're all super proud of her
🥹❤️❤️❤️
LET'S GOO EMILY
🎶🥰
Too cool - honored to have contributed in some way to this. Congrats !!
thank you so much!! Microcosm was such an important part of the score!! 🥰🎶
You're all amazing! The Microcosm definitely unlocked something special. Thanks for all you do!
When i hear soundtracks in a film i always wonder how they created it and getting to see the process is so cool, don't often get that kind of insight. awesome stuff Emdaddy.
😎❤
Loved working with you, albeit indirectly!💖 Your sound was so important on this score and it was amazing to see how you did it!
Same to you!! I love your work! 🥰❤️ I’m so excited to hear you on the big screen later today!!!
An aquatic cornucopia of brilliant women musicians.
It's pretty awesome to see this come to light. Huge congratulations! Oh and because of the films credits, Russ now has the official title of "Harp Effects" YAY RUSS!
I’m a Emily and Russ fan, and my 9 year old child has had this film on their radar since we saw the trailer a while ago.
This was a lovely little video that combines my pedal interest (poor child gets shown pedal vids and reverb listings) appreciation for this channel , my child’s interest being piqued in the guitar I bought them a few months ago - and was about a film they wanted to see.
We just got back from the film here in the UK and it was great! We both Definitely noticed the Harp on some of the examples given in the video. Amazing work everyone - thank you.
ahhh thank you so much!! that means so much to us; I'm so glad you were able to recognize some of the examples we showed in the video! we had so much fun making this process video, and we're so happy you enjoyed it :)
This... this was epic Emily. Some of us out there have been in music production for 65 or more years with our now aged hands still on the strings daily. We know your work and talent, the genius disciplined over decades of sweat. I will see the movie with my daughter, share this video. We are a creative family. You rock! Russ? I am so proud of you guys... and you don't even know me. Ohh the tech times we live in!!! Ever greater futures than we can imagine to you! Sam.
Thank you so much, Sam!! We really appreciate that! 🥰🎶
Congratulations Emily! I don't know what your musical aspirations were when you started out on UA-cam but I would guess that helping score a DreamWorks movie was not on your radar. You deserve to be recognized for your awesome talent.
This soundtrack wouldn’t be the same without Emily’s contribution. It honestly gave me chills listening to it! Great job Emily and Russ!! I hope you two are doing well!
Hey Emily Hopkins and Russ! Wow! The creative process of the music for a film is not something we see often. I'm glad Stephanie mentioned Russ a bunch! Audio engineering is an art form! Thanks for the nice vid! Ride ride ride!
As someone who listens to film scores a lot, this soundtrack is really blowing me away so far! I'm excited to see the film!
Also, nice Bad Snacks cameo lol
Yeah! Emily's harping is just perfect for the soundtrack!
That was really great, not just to see Emily's contribution, but to also see some of the background that goes into a cinema score.
It's interesting how you contrast the harp and pedal to the final mix that ends up in the film. Congratulations, this must be very exciting for you. Definitely well earned!
thank you so much 🎶🥰 it was such an unforgettable experience!!
Some elements of this score almost game me some Surfjan vibes! Crazy seeing how everything fit together and just getting a glimpse of the process. Heckin awesome yo!
It’s very cool how you create these sounds in such a unique way. Amazing to be given that level of freedom to create, and Steph seems very cool too.
thank you so much! Steph is AWESOME!!
It made me so happy to see this, and from about 30 seconds in I had this surprisingly joyful feeling. I don’t know if it’s uncommon for a videogame composer to move over to motion pix (obv there’s the animation overlap for this film) but do I know there are far fewer female screen composers. I love hearing/seeing different perspectives being brought forward. I’m a man, so I think it’s the outsider status part of it that I connect with in my own life. We all love the Zim-Daddy, but it’s really great to see some of Stephanie’s process and how Emily was brought into it
You are absolutely amazing Emily! I'm so happy for you that you got to work on such a large project. Keep being awesome!
Sounds like a fantastic project to work on, Emily. Hope you find this is just the first of many! It's really inspiring to hear your use of effects with the harp.
YES
I knew this would end up happening way back when I first stumbled upon Emily's music 2 or 3 years ago.
Brb crying 😭💙 thanks so much for still being here with us, it means a lot!
All the congrats!!! So very cool you were not only tapped for this as a musician, but how much of an influence you seem to be on Stephanie Economou
She's an inspiration to us all!
Congrats Emily and Russ, it sounds amazing! Hope there are many more of this kind of creative projects in the future!
Congratulations Emily! In a world of so many tutorials and gear demos, it’s so cool to see the behind the scenes of the actual pedals and tracks used in movie soundtracks. Though I love tutorials and gear demos too 😉 I like to see how it all comes together, thanks so much for this inside look
Wowsers, Emily! I am so proud of you and Russ! I am also glad that your talent, creativity, and hard work are winning you a wider audience! Keep it up!!!
This seems like a unique and innovative score! Congratulations on getting to be a part of it, Emily. Very pleased for you!
FANTASTIC! I love the sounds, and Steph Economou seems really fun to work with! Congrats and WHEEEEE!
Wow this final sound is so incredible! Love the music Stephanie, you and Russ made.
thank you so much!! 🥰Stephanie did an absolutely amazing job on the soundtrack -- we can't wait to hear it all on the big screen later today!
Emily and Russ are amazing. So happy for your all your successes. Well deserved. I definitely feel less bitter for being passed over and for that matter never even being considered for this project.
This makes my heart so happy for you!! Who new a fart peddle could lead to a part for a soundtrack on a major motion picture! Love you guys. Happy for this blessing in your lives!
I looooove it! I can't wait to watch it now Em! It must have been so ruff holding it in for that long!
This is amazing. Loved watching the process. Also, shoutouts to the Bad Snacks cameo, another incredible artist who along with yourself, pushes me further.
Thanks so much! Also be on the lookout for some fun content coming with Bad Snacks!
ERMAGHERD! It's so lovely to hear you (Okay.. Russ can come too) doing astonishing stuff like this. Getting to play creatively in this sort of environment and for such a big project must've been quite the treat! I knew the fart pedal was gonna make you a star. I just knew it!
I am always so blown away when I get an inside peak into scoring, and this was no exception. What a magical experience. Just wow.
Strongly agree🫡👍
OMG we saw the preview for this movie in theaters and will definitely go watch it. It will be hard not to listen to every scene for harp!
Thank you for giving us a deeper look into your work! I thought the effects were added after recording, but I like this approach very much better 🌺✨
Thanks so much! A lot of times, the effects are added later in the DAW software! There’s no real right way to do it!
as I am watching this and hearing these clips again I am really being sucked back into my memories from watching the movie, you really killed it.
Im so so happy this channel has had such great success!!
thank you so much!! thanks for being here with us :) 🥰
Holy kraken! Y’all seem so key to this motion picture’s score. So cool! Good hustle at the end.
I don't know why I'm crying about this, but I love that y'all have gotten to work on an OST :O And it just sounds so incredibly good!!!! This is so perfect and now I kinda wanna see the movie (i'm not much of a movie person tho). :O CONGRATSSSSS!!!! I'm so excited for you and Russ!!!!!
I can’t imagine the excitement of hearing my own music in a movie. CONGRATS🎉
This is awesome Emily! I can see a Grammy in your future!🎵🎶💙
you've really outdone yourself with this one! great job Emily and Russ
thank you so much ❤️ she really is!!
When you watch a video and you just have to smile. You can tell everyone had a great time and so much respect for each other. So cool!!
🥰❤️
Congratulations!!! It sounds F#%&ing amazing!!!! You parts and you knowledge of the tools you have at your disposal truly make the score special!!! I'm sure there are more good things to come.
My sister is a harpist and I have always enjoyed listening to her playing. But ever since finding your channel and all the amazing sounds that you and Russ create plus your sense of humor I'll never think of the harp the same way. Thanks for making me smile.
thank you so much for being here with us 🥰
"I just knew after that I had to work with this person" xD
Congratulations Em and Russ! ❤❤❤ Who would've thought that starting a channel to review the stuff you like would one day lead to an opportunity to be part of a movie soundtrack.
Keep it going! You've already made it this far! x) ✨
This is going to be so great to watch knowing friends had such an integral part in some of the features in this film! Congrats guys! You’re fucking awesome and amazing! So so happy you guys got to be a part of something so big! 💙🥳🎉
Wow this is so big! I wasn't expecting you two to be such a big part of the soundtrack! I hope this opens many more doors for you
AHH CONGRATS! Thanks so much for the video too! It's so interesting and helpful for people looking for similar sounds. I love seeing insights like this from creators :)
This is incredible. I always love your reviews of guitar pedals since you add such a different perspective. Your playing and approach really fit well in a whimsical soundtrack like that.
I hope you get to do more in the future!
I'm excited to take my nieces to see this movie. This is SOOO cool!!! Such a perfect visual feel for what you acoustically. This is HUGE!!! Cheers!!!
thank you so much!! I hope you enjoy it; Russ and I are SO excited to see it on the big screen!! 🥳🎶
Holy moly this is awesome! So stoked for you, this must be a dream come true! You 1000% deserved this opportunity and killed it. Can’t wait to see what’s next
thank you so much!! 🥰❤️ thanks for being here with us, it means a lot!!
I also love how you show the sound creation process. As a “sound designer,” I find that aspect infinitely interesting…
This is amazing! What a perfect fit for your sound. Always super impressed by you and your successes. Thanks for continuing to inspire people to hear the harp in different ways!
thank you so much for the kind words -- that means so much to us!! 🎶🥰
This is such a great video on so many levels! The in-depth looks, the sound samples, the GEESE!
Thank you so much for all the work you two do and the fun you bring to the pedal-section of youtube🖤
Wow! I'm so happy for you this is amazing. It's so cool to see your work appreciated like this. I hope there is more of this in your future.
Oh this is just all sorts of awesome! Ever since I first heard your music I thought some of it would be an amazing fit for soundtracks... and BOOM here it's happened! Congratulations!!! :D
So cool! The collection of sounds fits the vibe perfectly!
right?!? Steph is such an amazing composer!! I loved working with her, and listening to the final score of how everything fit together was incredible! 🥰
Congrats! Well deserved. I hope you wear that octopus costume to the premier😂
LMAO omfg i didn't even think of that!!! 😂❤
I only just saw this and I am blown away. The fact that a musician I've seen online, was a part of a big-budget motion picture soundtrack, just... blows my mind. I am so happy for you. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
More personally, it gives me hope that I too might be able to do something special with my music someday. So, thank you for being an inspiration.
This is amazing. I already wanted to see this movie and now I HAVE to see it
Huuuge congrats!! It sounds like you all had a wonderful time working together and I’m excited to hear the soundtrack in full!
Congratulations! Hope the soundtrack gets an Oscar! 🤞🏽🤞🏽
So amazing! Congratulations on such a big score!
Congrats to you and Russ for getting to contribute to such a cool project in such a unique way! Also, was that a Bad Snacks cameo at the end?? Hahahaha
Absolutely incredible!! So proud of you guys! The soundtrack sounds amazing!
Thanks so much!
Amazing, congrats Emily and Russ! Well deserved!
thank you!! 🥰
Amazing. I love that she discovered you through your great content. Congratulations!
thank you so much!! i'm so glad she found us! 🥰🎶
Up next, recording for Brad Pit's movies at his new studio!
Wow! This was absolutely amazing to watch. What an honor to work with such an incredible composer, but she obviously made the right choice of you and Russ as collaborators. Just amazing and inspiring soundtrack work. I can't wait to see the movie and to hear your music. Only one disappointment in this video though..... you didn't wear your Octopus costume!!!! But that's ok. Love ya all!
I have one good idea per decade and choosing to collaborate with Em and Russ is one of them.
@@StephEconomou Thanks for the reply. As a long-time songwriter/musician (I'm 49 yrs old), I'm awestruck at how young you are yet at how insanely talented you are. The technical knowledge to be a composer on your level is really complex stuff especially when composing for and directing a live orchestra. I had actually not heard of you before but seeing this video, I'm incredibly impressed and now a huge fan of yours. Keep up the awe-inspiring work. Just like Emily and Russ, you are an extremely rare individual with insane talents and professionalism. It's a joy to watch someone like yourself at work doing your craft and still staying very humble.
I am honored by your reply. You made my day and inspire me to continue songwriting. Thank you! BTW, I noticed the exotic instruments on your wall....that warms my heart as someone who also plays dozens of exotic instruments by ear. (I play the Indian Sitar, Persian Sitar, Turkish Baglama Saz, Japanese Koto, Armenian Duduk, various Peruvian flutes/ocarinas, keys, various ethnic drums from around the world, etc... ) Such instruments are important to learn to gain new inspiration and to learn to think outside the box by looking at broad styles of music. Clearly you get that. That's so awesome!
I'm in the process of learning to play the saxophone right now after doing a ambient soundtrack type recording with a $20 reed instrument from Amazon (and Omnisphere for synths) that got me addicted to reed woodwind instruments. You can hear that recording at: soundcloud.com/wigon/moni
Wish me luck. :)
@@wigon Thank you so much for those kind words, I truly appreciate it! I love rare and strange instruments, they enable me to experiment in new sound worlds. Look forward to checking out your music!
AMAZING work by you and Russ, HUGE Congrats!! And Stephanie seems to be a Super Awesome person and composer to work/collab with!! Very happy for all of you and now I’m pumped to see this movie by seeing your video here. Also, Go Microcosm!! I have one, your past vids have given me much insight to it, so thx for all the inspiration and keep up the Great and Well Deserved work:)
Thank you so much!!! 🥰🎶 It was such an honor to work with Steph; she’s truly amazing!! And YES Microcosm has been with me through so much! 😂❤️
@@emilyharpist I'm just the absolute worst, Emily is being generous.
This is really great. Fascinating to hear about how the collaboration process works. This kind of project such a good match for your talents! Hope you get to work on lots more stuff like this. :)
Very, VERY cool! Congrats on the gig and the excellent collaboration and music! Well done!
I am looking forward to seeing this movie! It looks very cute and fun. Did you get to see the film early? It is also really awesome how you were discovered! I want to hear more stories like this about content creators and how they were found by others in order to get really big opportunities like this. Very excited to hear the soundtrack.
I can't wait to see it, too -- we actually haven't seen the film yet!! we're going later today! what made this process even more interesting than it already was is that Russ and I couldn't watch the film scenes we were recording for (although we did get to see a small clip when we went to LA!), but Steph did an amazing job describing what she was going for in each piece, and she, Russ, and I were very much on the same page throughout the process!
@@emilyharpist that is so cool! thank you for sharing that bit.
Such a big accomplishment! Much love to you guys
Whoa, seeing the behind the scenes on this is really informative! Seriously amazing work, I can't wait to see what other amazing stuff you folks create!
This is really nicely put together! I hope someone who loved watching the movie finds this and geeks out about it.
I like the reverse sound effects when she meets grandmama, because it’s like she’s exploring her past & the noise reflects that by going backwards
Absolutely awesome…and it sounds like a great working partnership too. Congratulations!!! 🎶
It’s amazing & absolutely awesome that you got this opportunity to be part of the creation of a movie & soundtrack. Congratulations to you, Emily! I’m really happy for you & hope that this opens the door for more of this kind of fun work for you.
Thank you so much!!
This is so amazing! I love this behind the scenes look! ❤
thanks so much for watching and being here with us~! 🥰❤
Whaaaaaaaat?! So freaking cool CONGRATS
thank you so much, Andy!! thanks for being here for it!! 🎶🥰
Very cool. I love film compositions because of the visual companionship of the music. Steph Economou is great as well, I loved her AC Vahalla work.
right?!? all her work is incredible!! i'm excited to work with her again in the future! 🥰
Love you so much thanks for sharing this!!! Can’t wait to see the movie!
thank you so much 🥹❤❤❤
definitely want to see this movie more now! i love listening and picking out bits of sound design and score!
Also, i appreciate your dedication Emily... but running through a mob of geese like that is potentially fatal. I want to watch your videos and listen to your music for many more years. you dont need to loose your life to goose violence like so many other young musicians!
That's so cool! You're both so cool. Thanks for sharing the process!
thanks so much for watching! 🥰
This is amazing Emily! Congrats!
This is amazing! I see more huge stuff for you and Russ in the future 🎉
Congratulations you deserve it so much \o/… Much Light to you and yours
❤❤❤
I love that the fart pedal video is what pushed you over the top! Fart pedal for the win! The music sounds incredible and I can't wait to see the movie and hear the score with a whole new perspective. Congratulations! I am certain that this is only the first of many new accomplishments!
OMG OMG OMG, [huff, huff] OMG!!! So excited for you! What a great project you got to work on and so nonchalantly presented, like, “Here’s a thing I did.” Really love the collaborative effort that went into this experience. Superb! [My three favorite things are music, animation, and computers, so this content is where the Venn diagram converges for me.]
thank you so much!! my favorite things are music and film, so going to the movie theater yesterday was an absolutely (and kind of a surreal!) experience! the movie came out AMAZING! ❤️
This is so cool. I’m very happy for you and Russ 🎉
thank you so much!! :) ❤
Loved this video. Having Steph's commentary and Abbey Road B roll? What's not to like?!
this is amazing. Well done, Emily!
This is SO COOL, I'm so happy for you!
thank you!! 🥰
Orchestral + dreampop + shoegaze? Yes, please.
THE BEST COMBINATION
@@emilyharpistHarp synthwave next please 😊
I was already excited to see this movie, but knowing you were a part of the score has me scrambling to the theater! I can’t wait!
