I don’t know much about Pete or what he has done for his BPD but I don’t like youtubers adding more stigma on it. I have been diagnosed and treated with BPD and nowadays very healthy friendships. My last relationship was also very healthy. I generally think I have more relationship skills than ’normal’ people who never attended to therapy or paid attention to these things.

What I initially wanted to say is that I don’t like youtubers adding stigma by drawing a correlation between personality disorders and poor relationship skills or other negative personality traits. While there is connection with untreated mental issues, it’s doesnt however help with stigma that lot of people experience. Unfortunately I can barely tell people I have been diagnosed with BPD without having some sort of negative or judgemental reaction towards it

My bf had a red flag but we stil stick it trough and now we are 6years together and he changed completely. He is the most loving person I got to know in my life + has a great energy like Pete almost. In the begging I think lots of stuffs are ref flag cause it is hard to completely understand each other point of viewpoints, after 2 years of being together we finally got to know each other on deeper lvl and stopped the fighting, now only love and tolerance in every aspect. 😊

Pete more than likely had his abandonment wound triggered and started splitting and devaluing her, like you said, but borderlines also love bomb in the honeymoon stage and essentially mirror exactly what the other person wants to see because they don't have a stable sense of self. They have an unstable identity, they basically have no idea who they are, so they study their partner and become whatever will most likely secure their acceptance. So their early relationship would've been just about as close to perfect as it could be while he was idealizing her. It wouldn't have mattered who Kim was, he was going to adapt himself to sync up with her no matter what.

Meditation is good, it helps to observe rather be reactive all the time, journaling good for sorting out thoughts and emotions and release them too. What is you core belief about yourself and where dors it come from? Create a new narrative for yourself about your self. Say good and kind things about yourself to yourself and believe them too. Whose voice is talking in your head? Take charge of your thoughts. Treat yourself as you'd your best friend because you need to be your own best friend. Insecurities, accept that you are not perfect as nobody is. Accept your flaws and work on the things you feel you want change and work on. Be kind with yourself and cherish every step of growth. Bpd also involves phases of intense appreciation but also devaluation at irregular intervals, this is very hard to deal with for both people involved
