  • Before there was MrBeast there was Liza Koshy. She was one of the fastest growing UA-camrs and Viners, growing a fanbase well beyond 25 million subscribers. But then she stopped uploading. So what happened to Liza Koshy? That's what we cover in this interview and more.
Join my Discord with 4,500+ creators helping each other grow: / discord
I asked Liza why she left when she was on top of UA-cam, what it was like hosting the Met Gala, voice acting in the new Transformers movie, and how she's applying her skills as a host, actress, and director. Who knows, we may just see Liza on Saturday Night Live soon enough.

as a singer and musician, i love how she mentioned how she can get critical of her tone and other things within her complextion of acting. i tend to do that with my own musicianship, and hearing about how those "mistakes" or things happening in a certain way outside of "perfect" are inherentlty perfect in their own way really helps and encourages me to formulate things a lot less critically. sometimes our imperfections can make a performance even better .

she's truly an inspiration! i've been watching liza since vine when i was a preteen, and seeing her continue to flourish, transition over to traditional media as well as pave the way for many creators, whilst still remaining her authentic self, is so admiring! as a fan it's amazing to watch her articulate her journey and her thoughts with grace. i am beyond proud of liza's accomplishments and only wish that she continues to flourish, she deserves nothing less!

Liza is such a huge inspiration. The way she speaks and the way she presents herself is truly something to look up to! She shines bright & her personality peers through her words even when speaking of mundane topics (not that she ever does.) I’ve always been so impressed by her but after this interview I’m also so proud by how much she has grown from her Vine days. Keep shining girl! 🥹✨
Edit: I was so captivated by Liza I forgot to give credit where it’s due! This is the first video I watch on this channel and I’m equally impressed by the interviewer and how he really made sure to do his research. Great questions, lots of respect to both parties.

Liza, the point you made about rest is essential. I was in a similar position this past year. I was building my business, and going to graduate school so I could build a better business. I burnt myself out so badly I almost had to drop out. It took months to “reboot” and redevelop my executive function. Rest IS part of the process. You rest so you can do the work. “Rest is productive” (Elyse Myers)

The interview was interesting and I loved that the interviewer let Liza tell her story with minimal interruptions. I do think though that he needs to be mindful of how he redirects the focus back onto the interviewee when they ask him questions about his perspective. Several times when Liza asked him a question, he abruptly shut it down. Thank goodness for him she took it well as others may have taken it as a bump in the conversation flow and clammed up over time. One way I've seen great interviewers do this is by researching a lot about the person being interviewed and using that research to guide the convo. First We Feast comes to mind. Loved the content overall though.
