19 couldve been the greatest 2k of all time if lockdowns stretches and post scorers werent so overpowered there wasnt a reason to use anything else other than those builds. Also to add 2k is so garbage and dead now compared to what it was because of the stupid toxic "comp" community. Comp shit is so fruity to me, 2k used to be a casual fun experience and now every time you get on the game people either run from you or youre playing against straight sweaties acting like theyre gonna win 10,000$ if they win a park game. The sweaty ass comp scene has made this game and community a shitty thing to be apart of. If 2k added a ranked mode similar to overwatch or something like that same system back in like the 2k16 or 15 days then maybe the comp scene would stay there, but if they added it now all of the sweaties would stay in park and play against bums all day and claim theyre good because of their win percentage lmao this shits a joke man. And no I'm not a bum, I still beat these sweats, I just dont like the concept of having to go tryhard mode everytime I hop on the game, makes the shit stale and not fun.

IMO it’s not dribbling it’s the damn defense to stay in front of them even when holding both back buttons to quick shuffle left and right it’s still useless and the speed boost doesn’t help When 2k16 took out speed boosting it showed who really had dribble skills and the defense was actually good no more of the blow by cheese everyone like to do 16 would be the best 2k ever 17 is second
There was no blow by cheese Myguy even tho 16 had fast speedboost the defense made up for that the defense was so good in 16 anything was boxable if you had skill but 17 had crazy dribbling speedboost and combos but the defense in 17 was ass you can’t even lie. 2k16 was perfect before patch 6 because you had OP offense and defense. IMO 17 only had OP offense.
the explosive behind the back was always in the game, it was only for people with 70-85 ball control, and the old behind the back was for 86+ ball control. GMAN on twitter asked mike wang for them to switch it around between stats and the rest is history
@@Trollaholics1 they really don't though. Most people don't dribble based on how they get played, they spam the same two combos 84 times until they get an animation. There's probably two people I've played who were crazy with dribbling, because they played unorthodox as fuck.
Exactly. Ppl really miss 2k16's dribbling because the animations were given to them. God forbid they take out the unrealistic moves that give u a ridiculous amount of space this year. Most people would probably quit 2k. I think 2it's dribbling should resemble lives more
Dribbling gets more realistic , you only need like two moves to beat your man. And it’s a bad thing? That confused me to see the dislike in 2k20 dribbling.... I know the behind the back is annoying. But it’s much better than random moves causing an ankle breaker even if the defender stands still.
2k19 was the best 2K in my opinion. Best dribbling 2nd best shooting Decent servers compared to 18 and 20 Well known, 2nd most popular 2K (in a good way)
I joined the 2k community around 18, and honestly 19 was way better than 20, I still Hop on and play 19 more than 20. I might just be ass but for some reason I cannot do shit on an offensive threat with max badges and 97 overall
Which is how it used to be, but the community complained it out of the game because for some reason, they all want to shoot like Steph curry, but if they only knew Steph is a 40% 3pt shooter and not an 70% shooter.
As someone who played 2k16 for over 2 years and skipped 17, you youtubers gotta stop spreading this lie that the speed boosting patch someone killed dribbling, and that 2k17 was somehow a fun game. The speed boosting patch made trash cans even more trash, but the rest of us who weren't using it as a crutch did just fine without it. Till the servers were taken down, 2k16 was being played heavy by people with all types of play styles. And 2k17 is and will always be trash. UA-camrs and their bad takes is what has killed this franchise.

Bruh dribbling in the park is toxic as hell😂 spamming the stick and dropping people with animations i get there are people at the park that do it but like bruh it’s cheesy asab
Nyre LikeKyrie yeah now it is. 2K 18-20 was when the shit just turned garbage. 16 was the most perfect. Easy to guard but niggas still complained and that bitch got hit with the patch.
Simple solution. Bring back 2k17 dribbling, keep stamina system, penalize shooters and finishers harder for over dribbling. SIMPLE....o and make big men stoppable again. I miss when you didn’t need a bigman to win. Realistic? Yea maybe. Fun? No. No reason I should be getting dropped off by a paint beast and a stretch big with no chance of winning.
No it's just harder to do I think 2k19 was just a bunch of momentums spinbacks and size up packages and 2k 20 is full of behind the back but it's not overpowered if you know how to guard it you have to know how to dribble
17's dribbling was cheesy but not as cheesy as 18. The dribbling community was big tho and playmakers were breaking ankles every time they touched the ball
Problem in 2k has literally always been how shooting is easy as a dunk or layup. There’s no skill in shooting. Everyone passes up layups to pull back for a 3
1:54 what do you mean, that was a good mechanic. Back in the days when it was less arcadey and still had an element of actual basketball simulation. Nobody makes 100% of their shots. Post patch 2K16 was great. No speed boosting makes it feel like I'm actually playing basketball. You have to think about what moves to do to get around the defender based on how they play you, speed boosting just felt way too video gamey.
WavyKey spamming the same overpowered moves every play that you learned on UA-cam is exploiting, there’s no creativity no individuality there’s 100s of dribbling animations but these “dribblers” equip the same 5 as their favorite youtuber and spam them until the next game comes out and his next video drops, like homie said, UA-cam killed 2K, mainly the “dribbling” side of it
twebb5896 So ? How are you going to get mad at people for using the seemingly best animations to them ? That’s like me saying there’s so many characters in a fighting game but every only chooses the same 5 fighters . Why ? Because they’re the best . Everyone is playing to win , i’m not playing to make sure my opponent has a fun time . If i see something gives me the best chance at winning , i’m going to adapt & use that .
Jaylen archer you’re missing the point, there’s a different between being the best and being an exploit, do people in fighting games spam one move the entire match or do they switch it up? Does every pro in the fighting game scene use the same exact character the exact same way as everyone else? The community killed itself and 2K watched, you “dribblers” don’t adapt you complain until things go back to the way you need them to even have a chance, like stamina and shooting this year
8:30 wrong, it was in the game but they had the non speed boosting builds be able to do it and speedboosting builds couldnt but in an update they flipped it
2 - 16 was my first 2k game and I was able to pick up the basics of dribbling in a decent amount of time. And I eventually was able to take ankles with ease. I just realized that's not my play style (to just cheese to be cheesing), but to have the ability to do it and flex when you want to. . .bruhhh lol. It was accessible to casuals/noobs without catering, the learning curve was there without being frustrating. I just think all the games that followed catered to both extremes of the 2k spectrum and left a lot of people in the dark, especially visable in 20.
The explosive BTB was in the game but it was only on ppl with a 70 ball handle that’s why Norman Powell could do it at the start then they switched the two behind the backs between the tier dribbling.
Can you imagine if they didn’t switch that? Haha! I play myteam, centers would be going nuts!!! They also took it off guys 6-10 and up. Even some of the 6’9 guys.
2k19 was my second fav game because they brought back dribbling and when I eventually got up to a 98 overall I could make a broken stretch build that could shoot from half court and ez green
Unpopular opinion 2k20 is kinda nice on the pure playmaker build and the dribbling you can combo with the behind the back new dribbles are being learned everyday. I know it might not seem as fun as 19 and because the bullshit by Ronnie downgrades the overall popularity but it’s more of a skill based game compared to like 17 were you could sit a big body and knock the person to the ground or like in 19 the pushing was horrendous but people didn’t stop playing it.
the explosive behind the back was in the game since day 1! they patched it in the first or second week and changed the ball control requirements and the controls. it was never not in the game.
Explosive behind the back was in the game when the game came out. It was just for tier 2 dribbling and then poor boy son cried for it to get switched to tier 3

Antonio Smith thank you ppl sleep on 2k19 2 2ks from now ppl gon look back and see how good 2k19 really was ik it was cheesy asf with post scorers and stretches n locks but that’s wat make the game fun and it had a more arcade feel to it ion really care for the realism just 2k20 Boring asf
I think the solution is to have a casual park mode where your record doesn't show and then a ranked park mode where record matters
The 2k19 clip at 6:41 is real bad man. All that swaying for so long. I just had to skip what you were saying cause it was making me feel sick :(
IMO it’s not dribbling it’s the damn defense to stay in front of them even when holding both back buttons to quick shuffle left and right it’s still useless and the speed boost doesn’t help
When 2k16 took out speed boosting it showed who really had dribble skills and the defense was actually good no more of the blow by cheese everyone like to do
16 would be the best 2k ever 17 is second
Melcome Jordan I’ve always said this. Why is the defensive lateral movement so got dam slow. It’s so hard to turn your hips lol
2. It was just so smooth, quick, and most importantly fun. At least until that patch.
When 2k16 dropped the green light patch I was hella impressed
Then I started missing greens.....
-Initium Ent- hold that L I always made my greens
that was a rough time
the explosive behind the back was always in the game, it was only for people with 70-85 ball control, and the old behind the back was for 86+ ball control. GMAN on twitter asked mike wang for them to switch it around between stats and the rest is history
"What up UA-cam.... It's YA BOI Phantuums back wit another BANGER man"
I always get bump turnovers, especially in Playmaker Takeover. I don't know why, I just activate takeover and get stripped!
Dribbling is low-key annoying as fuck if you're not the one doing it
2K19 dribbling was fire
2k17 was the best offensively 2k16 was the best defensively and 2k15 was the most creative
Daily reminder that spamming dribbling moves doesn’t take skill
Cheez It facts💯
Spamming the same move but combos do
@@Trollaholics1 they really don't though. Most people don't dribble based on how they get played, they spam the same two combos 84 times until they get an animation.
There's probably two people I've played who were crazy with dribbling, because they played unorthodox as fuck.
I play myteam more than mycareer but dribbling has changed lots. This year you run out of stamina from doing dribble moves.
1 2k16 was just Kobe size up and speedbost or spamming Jamal Crawford. The patch was the best thing to happen in the game.
Letsgo786 heeeeeell naaah
Exactly. Ppl really miss 2k16's dribbling because the animations were given to them. God forbid they take out the unrealistic moves that give u a ridiculous amount of space this year. Most people would probably quit 2k. I think 2it's dribbling should resemble lives more
2k's dribbling*
E Money exactly
Your trippin
Dribbling gets more realistic , you only need like two moves to beat your man. And it’s a bad thing? That confused me to see the dislike in 2k20 dribbling.... I know the behind the back is annoying. But it’s much better than random moves causing an ankle breaker even if the defender stands still.
Big facts. 💯
They gave us one dribble move this year
My wifi was down for a couple of days so I couldn’t watch your videos but im back now!!
Exactly why I use a glass cleaning finisher guards suck this year
They don’t suck, they just suck when facing big men
WHat?! finishing guards get a lot of crazy animations and dunk on everybody due to the hop step this year
Malusintern you one of those 😂
The hesi moves alone made 16 the best dribbling game
2k19 was the best 2K in my opinion.
Best dribbling
2nd best shooting
Decent servers compared to 18 and 20
Well known, 2nd most popular 2K (in a good way)
Dehz nah shooting was ass 15 and 16 had better shooting and better bar
MoneyMakinMitch best shooting doesn’t mean easiest. This wasn’t a rating catered towards noobs dummy
I joined the 2k community around 18, and honestly 19 was way better than 20, I still
Hop on and play 19 more than 20. I might just be ass but for some reason I cannot do shit on an offensive threat with max badges and 97 overall
Respect ur opinion but ur smoking crack
Sunny Hardyal I swear I can’t do shit with my offensive threat but then I hop on 19 and drop 15 with a sharp-shot creator.
2k17 is what game I started dribbling and made a playmaker ever since
I feel like greens shouldn’t go in a 100 percent of the time because even with perfect conditions misses can happen irl
Which is how it used to be, but the community complained it out of the game because for some reason, they all want to shoot like Steph curry, but if they only knew Steph is a 40% 3pt shooter and not an 70% shooter.
Love your vids, legit content that everyone wants to see. Keep up the great work
i can’t wait for nba live next i really hope there better then 2k so we can actually get a good nba 2k game
There not coming out it will be years before that happen.
Then they will ruin it just like they did madden
I liked the video while the ad was playing because I already knew this was gonna be heat
Somebody got mad at me when I called him out on 20 for the behind the back. All you need is a quick j and that’s it
I’m new to the game wdym by called him out on 20?
Watching this 10 months later I feel like we took these games for granted.
Dribbling like this makes no sense.🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
mike bryant it’s a video game is supposed to make no sense. If we wanted real basketball will go outside
mike bryant I mean kyrie dribbles like that
Lmao kyrie dont do this weird ass shit. But y'all got it
2k16 was the most fun i've had in any 2k game, i actually liked grinding that game until they shut the servers down
Niggas call 17 the goat of 2k but was the downfall of the game
No 2k18 ended 2k
Niggato 17 was still a decent game but when they introduced archetypes it was a wrap and honestly i think 19 is better then 17🤷🏾♂️
As someone who played 2k16 for over 2 years and skipped 17, you youtubers gotta stop spreading this lie that the speed boosting patch someone killed dribbling, and that 2k17 was somehow a fun game.
2k19 was nothing but spin backs pro 3 moving behind the back momentum spins with park moves and unrealistic ankle breakers
Jamar Gaming it was way more than that cuz 😂
AntiOpz Ong, I hate when ppl say that
@@Lawrencepb look up 2k19 dribbling mix tape all they doing is spin backs and I hate when lame ass niggas who don't know shit about basketball try to say what should be in a basketball game
@@Jamar742tbh 2k is far from realistic the animations are nothing like real ball
AntiOpz nope don’t lie to yourself
The explosive behind the back existed in the beginning of 2k20 it was just given to tier 2 dribbling(70-85 ball control) instead of tier 3 (86+ ball control) until 2k flipped it and traded animations
The should’ve kept 2019 dribbling
Really miss the old 2ks, made a lot of friends on those games. The 2k community and games have changed so much.
2k20 cant get ankle breakers anymore 🤦
I will never Forget Patch 1.06. 😭
Really this is the only year that dribbling has been a terrible
No it's just harder to do I think 2k19 was just a bunch of momentums spinbacks and size up packages and 2k 20 is full of behind the back but it's not overpowered if you know how to guard it you have to know how to dribble
@@aidenmaxey837 2k19 dribbling had a skill gap tho it took time and effort to learn combos and its not like it was impossible to guard
Never played 15, I don’t regret grinding 16
The only reason I didn’t like dribble moves from 17 through 20 is because people spam dribble moves it’s annoying🤦🏽♂️
15 and 16 was the same shit
2:30 phantuums sounding like my god damn English teacher. Jk love your content
2k19 was the prime of dribbling if you was that good because I was in my bag
17's dribbling was cheesy but not as cheesy as 18. The dribbling community was big tho and playmakers were breaking ankles every time they touched the ball
2k is getting worse by the year
Problem in 2k has literally always been how shooting is easy as a dunk or layup. There’s no skill in shooting. Everyone passes up layups to pull back for a 3
2k19 dribbling my personal favorite
D Stroud23 I don’t trust you
SheWantsJah huh??
Stfu
You bring shame to the 2k community
1:54 what do you mean, that was a good mechanic. Back in the days when it was less arcadey and still had an element of actual basketball simulation. Nobody makes 100% of their shots. Post patch 2K16 was great. No speed boosting makes it feel like I'm actually playing basketball. You have to think about what moves to do to get around the defender based on how they play you, speed boosting just felt way too video gamey.
Bro all these “dribblers” have spammed the same moves since 2K15 these guys literally killed this game by only exploiting
How tf is it exploiting you just can’t dribble
UA-cam killed 2k
The community killed itself and 2K watched, you “dribblers” don’t adapt you complain until things go back to the way you need them to even have a chance, like stamina and shooting this year
8:30 wrong, it was in the game but they had the non speed boosting builds be able to do it and speedboosting builds couldnt but in an update they flipped it
NBA 2K17: we will be ight
"Fortnite" has entered the the chat
nah 18 suffered the most cause fortnite wasn't out in 17's time
What's the percentage underneath a player at 8:20?
Νoti gang again?♥️😂
2 - 16 was my first 2k game and I was able to pick up the basics of dribbling in a decent amount of time. And I eventually was able to take ankles with ease. I just realized that's not my play style (to just cheese to be cheesing), but to have the ability to do it and flex when you want to. . .bruhhh lol. It was accessible to casuals/noobs without catering, the learning curve was there without being frustrating. I just think all the games that followed catered to both extremes of the 2k spectrum and left a lot of people in the dark, especially visable in 20.
Phantuums is the grandfather of the 2k community . Giving great knowledge
I was a dribbler every other 2k and I tried 2k20 dribbling and had to quit cause it was leading to a deep hole of depression
Thank you somebody finally talks about it . The dribble SUCKS in 2k now since 2018 it's feel so damn clunky
Once I realized that anklebreaker "controls" my defender regardless of what I do with my controller, I was over it
It has always felt like I was one of the only players that didn't do spam dribble moves to get open
That behind the back been in the game I did it with with kd on the demo first came out
Unpopular opinion 2k20 is kinda nice on the pure playmaker build and the dribbling you can combo with the behind the back new dribbles are being learned everyday. I know it might not seem as fun as 19 and because the bullshit by Ronnie downgrades the overall popularity but it’s more of a skill based game compared to like 17 were you could sit a big body and knock the person to the ground or like in 19 the pushing was horrendous but people didn’t stop playing it.
What is NBA2k18-20? I’ve been playing on a 360 from 2k11-2k15
In 2k20 the behind the back was in the game in the beginning, i was doing it in the demo and when it came out i was doing it in park bro.
Mixing the shot stick with dribbling was always super confusing to me, they need to be separated
Nba2k17 dribblew/hop step was krazy
I remember I had a playmaker 2k17 all u had to do with the grand badge is do a momentum then snatch back
It's like you knew what was going through my mind. 2 days ago I deleted 2k20 and was wishing they could bring back 15,16 or 17 :(
the explosive behind the back was in the game since day 1! they patched it in the first or second week and changed the ball control requirements and the controls. it was never not in the game.
Explosive behind the back was in the game when the game came out. It was just for tier 2 dribbling and then poor boy son cried for it to get switched to tier 3
You could do the explosive behind the back in 2k20 from the start. It was just originally a tier 2 move
