    When using a clay bar, it is important to occasionally fold the clay so the dirty surface is no longer exposed. This will help prevent scratching.

    Can you use a 2000 sanding disc with the polisher instead of by hand or will the machine create worse sanding swirls?

    Wow thanks for this video. The hood of my Mercedes has been getting terrible as of late because I've been visiting the Hospital for a whole month with no time to spare for car care. It's getting growing patches of bubbling clear coat and I could never wrap my head around fixing orange peel on other projects. Will try to DIY before looking to a body shop.
    Does anyone know if theres anything besides coats of wax and car covers that remedy bubbling clear coat? Thank you in advance!

    Better to save money on base coat and spend that money on drinking

    I had an idea on this sort of process...
    So repair the peel with the rattle can then like you did buff/polish it.
    Now for one more process, clean and use ceramic coating. Figure if you did that to an entire car it'd look like new for longer than stopping at polishing. Maybe 10 years?!

    I would use the dual action polisher with a sanding pad. This makes more even sanding.

    • @Elniniss
      @Elniniss 9 місяців тому

      @@uw8850 there’s a thing called interference pad for sanding discs. I would use the 2000 grit sanding disc on that interference pad.

      or just buy a dewalt DA sander.

    • @InsomniaRebel
      @InsomniaRebel 9 місяців тому

      You're talking about a DA sander, much like a DA polisher its a dual action sander that rotates and oscillates, with a soft foam backing pad/interface pad you can make quick work of body panels, I would still recommend blocking things by hand around body lines where you can't fit the DA.

    Meguiar's makes me nuts with their numbers and bottle colors. I called them once and the kid was an idiot. (For such a great company this shocked me). I had collected so many different colors and numbers of Meguirars cutting compounds, buffing compounds, finishing compounds, and polishing compounds, ...... and all I wanted from Meguirars was a "scale". Is my black bottle "restore" compound more or less aggressive than my tan bottle number X? Even Mequiars didn't know (that person). Does anyone know of a chart that lists the numbers and colors so a regular person can determine the "grit" and polish?
