      Kiwisaft Design man muss all das machen nur um die ssd austauschen zu können ...? Wollte mir das Gerät eigentlich kaufen (auch mit i5) aber das traue ich mir nicht wirklich zu.. und ohne SSD geht garnicht

      @kiwisaft  10 років тому

      ohne die SSD ist es wirklich ne lahme Mühle. wundert mich, dass MSI das so verkauft, macht keinen guten Eindruck mit ständigen hängern. ich wollte eigentlich das i7 modell bei dem die SSD schon drin ist, war aber nirgends lieferbar. Hatte auch nicht damit gerechnet, dass es nicht einfach ne klappe gibt wies bei den meisten notebooks ist.

    • @coolertuep

      Kiwisaft Design aufjedenfall super, dass du ein video darüber gemacht hast!
      Mir reicht die kleine Konfiguration locker aus, bin kein Hardcore Gamer.
      hätte das Gerät für gut 900€ haben können - aber auf diese Bastelei und Garantieverlust habe ich keinen bock -.-
      Kommt man an den zweiten (mSata?) Slot genauso bescheiden dran?

    • @kiwisaft
      @kiwisaft  10 років тому

      coolertuep
      900 ist ja ein guter preis ^^ die beiden Slots sind genau nebeneinander. das einzige was leichter zu wechseln ist, ist das wlan-modul. aber das gehäuse muss man immer ganz öffnen.
      und es ist KEIN mSata sondern m.2 (NGFF)

    1. How many M.2 does the laptop fit? I believe 2?
    2. Whats the maximum capacity on each bay?
    3. Once the SSD is installed how can i install a fresh copy of windows on it?MSI doesn't provide a product key? Do i have to use a USB Flash drive? and how does that work?
    Also, should i raid all the drives? or leave them as is?
    Any information helps.

    hey I got this laptop without an HDD. now I'm trying to put an HDD in it, but the cable I have doesn't have a place to connect (either the connector on the cable I have is wrong or I can't find the right one). what exactly does the hard drive connect to? is it on the flip side of the motherboard? what does the cable look like? is there a replacement part number for it? btw it's a 2.5 inch 22 pin HDD. Thanks!

    What is the maximum capacity the m.2 slot can take? Can I install two 480GB m.2 hard drives?

    • @kiwisaft
      @kiwisaft  10 років тому

      as the m.2 is just a form factor and connects as SATA express to the PCI express bus, the limitation depends on your system. Anything below 2TB should be no problem for sure. if you use GPT partitioning instead of MBR you can go up to 8192 Exabyte - quite enough for the beginning ;)
      I'm pretty sure you can build a super fast RAID with the two SSD drives, because MSI also sells such setups with this chipset

    • @canoeshoe
      @canoeshoe 10 років тому +1

      Oh ok. MSI supports two m.2 sata slots with this laptop. I plan on eventually removing the 1TB drive.

      +kabir Moz I really don't know, but I guess so. maybe you can check the chipset specifications

    • @mrstatic09
      @mrstatic09 9 років тому

      +Kiwisaft Design Pretty unlikely considering the chipset limitations. What you need to consider is the chipset and available slots. The GS60 Ghost Pro (or at least the 3k version) doesn't have more than 2 slots, with a max combined of 16GB (2x 8GB). The other element is price. Even if you could find a single 16GB module it would be prohibitively expensive (because there's just not a large enough market/volume for it...yet). The chipset specs also state that they don't support higher than 16GB on this version.
