Thank you for this. This is the pen that I was given as a gift many years ago. I now know much more about it. It is 3rd generation has the brass threads and also the problem with the corrosion. I thought it was something that I had done so in a strange way I'm relieved to find out it was a common problem. I now journal with it every day and really enjoy writing with it.

I have this pen. I'm the original owner. It's an early 2nd generation model that still has the section with a plastic screw so I'm very careful with it. It writes beautifully and I'm very found of it. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for. My father recently gave me his 144 that he bought in January, 1989. Since I have now watched your video I know I have a 2nd generation 144. It has the plastic screw barrel, the W Germany on the clip band and the 2nd generation feed. I appreciate you generating and sharing this content. Best regards from Colorado.

This is great! I have been gifted 2 of these pens from my Aunt and Uncle. They were purchased in the 80s. They both have the 2nd generation vertical feeds, but one of the pens has the resin(?) threading and one has the brass. They are encrusted in dried ink, so I look forward to cleaning them and getting them going again.

It is truly a beautiful pen, I got one (not the first generation, mine is brass fitting) 20 years ago from my father when I was a teenager. I was too young to understand the value of this en and threw it in my storage box. After 20 years, I just found this pen from my old storage, it is still in a perfect condition. Just amazed by the quality. I'm using it everyday now.

Thank you for the informative review. I’ve recently bought the same model and was wondering why it has some different features to others that I’ve seen, I now know it’s a first generation pen!

Great video. I’m going to be buying a Meisterstuck classique soon and was wondering the size difference between the 144 and the classique. Would you happen to know which Is bigger? Thanks

Do you happen to know if the early 80 models are slightly shorter then the later classique models from the 90s? My 80s burgundy is 2mm shorter in total then my 90s classique.

How small are these? I have a Montblanc slimline and it spins around in my hand
