    I managed to get the tourist one from a local store near a hotel where I stayed not far from the airport. I paid around 3.56 Baht lasted 10 days with 50 unlimited data. Lasted for the duration without any issues didn't have to top up was high speed and had no requirement to use for calls.

    As another vlogger who lives in Bangkok pointed out, it is FAR cheaper and better to buy a SIM card outside of the airport at a local mall or even a 7-Eleven (True only offered there however).

    • @TonySchiavone6
      @TonySchiavone6 3 місяці тому

      and how do you use Bolt, or Grab to get to your hotel to drop off your bags before running around to find a 7-11. I would rather get it. Check in, and worry about a top off once I am set up and bag free. The few Baht you save, you spend on the Taxi over charge? or the Overseas roaming fee for 3 seconds of use, if it works?

    • @SmartCookie2022
      @SmartCookie2022 Місяць тому

      @@TonySchiavone6 Simple. You pay cash to use a taxi, bus or train, then go to the nearest shopping mall that has a proper service provider, such as a dtac shop and purchase a 1 month unlimited package. Or you can pay over the odds at the airport and order your taxi using Bolt. Up to you.

    thanks for the 24-7 for the sim card stores. Other people said they were closed when their plane landed. I was worried about that. Esim cards seem double the price and limited time to use the data. 300 Baht is pretty cheap even if its only enough for 1 week.

    the ATM charges everywhere in Thailand 220 Baht per transaction for foreigners. this is super normal not overprized as you mention in your video. it's generelly a high transaction fee so choose wisely when you get your money and always withdraw as much as possible so you don't have to pay this fee that often. and another tip: it's generally cheaper to decline the fixed rate at the atm.

    • @RobPittman

    In the past it was great to buy a SIM card at the airport but nowadays it's the quickest way to get ripped off after landing (other than using an ATM LOL).
    Still, it's worth it for most tourists because of the convenience. However, if you are staying 30 days or longer and don't mind the inconvenience, get a normal (non-tourist) SIM card from one of the providers' shops (AIS/True/DTAC) in a mall or whatever for less than 100 baht and then add a data package starting at less than 200 baht for 30 days. (These SIM cards are not available at the airport for obvious reasons). Don't forget to bring your passport when going to the shop as this is required to register the SIM card.
