I’m in Majorca on a retreat and loving the yoga, the sea and the food. Holidays like this are a great time to revalue one's life and decide what needs to be changed. Whilst here, I reached 50k subscribers, and I want to thank each and every one of you who has bothered to subscribe. Every new subscriber makes my heart sing!
Oh, and I take you on a tour of a cosmetic skin care laboratory… a school trip for adults… and the obligatory hair net!
I shall be back in London next week....have fun !!

Oh Jo I found I had a (happy) tear in my eye after I listened to your final scene. So moving and so lovely of you to open your heart and show us how your retreat is having such a positive effect. I hope the feelings will linger as you return to life in London. I find myself thinking about you throughout the week, wondering what you're up to over on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean and tell myself I must be patient because Jo will catch us up on Sunday! Lovely Jo. Not everyone loves the summer vibes! I love autumn and can't wait to layer & snuggle in cosy knits and boots. I avoid sun on my skin particularly my face and wear factor 50 most of the year. (I take Vit D spray daily). As a former redhead, I have always been vulnerable in the sun even before the recent intense heatwave.
I absolutely love the comment 'as a former redhead', so funny 😅 I found myself working with someone that went through primary school and I can recall asking her what colour my hair was originally 🤩. I would say that at a stretch her and I could be described as 'former redheads' too🤭 love it!! Xxx

I agree - I’m an Autumn and Spring person.
And dare I say it, summer is actually my least favourite because it’s usual too wet - or now too hot!
I’m a natural red head (auburn) fair skin , freckles yet I have never had sun burn , I love the summers

That was a fascinating tour of Boots. Also interesting to see how quiet central London still is. My friend was in Soho Square on Friday afternoon and he said it was just dead there. Must be great to get around so quickly and enjoy the quiet. Congratulations on 50k, now onto 100k!

The retreat looked exactly what you needed and hopefully gave you the opportunity to recharge your batteries. Yoga is wonderful for the mind and body- a real cleansing process. Hello from sunny Cocoa Beach Florida ! Recently retired here from Long Island New York. Like you, Iove the warm weather and the ocean. Hope you can visit this small surfing town sometime soon. New to your fab show. I've been binging for 2 days. It was love at first sight when I saw Mick on your wall. I thought I was the only one to have Mick in my living room !!! (Janice in Paris ) blog introduced me to your show by listing yours as one she enjoyed. I love to learn and see new places too. Great blog Jo. The Boots tour looked very interesting and well organised. Couldn't believe it when you said you were in Puerto de Soller. I went there for my very first holiday abroad at aged about 11/12 it was gorgeous. Very traumatic journey in those days (1965/66) as from Palma to Soller over the mountains involved 75 hairpin bends.🫣. Yikes I could have done with some relaxing yoga after that. Love your vlog. Take care of yourself.💕

Jo, by far and away, this was one of your best blogs yet. I love a factory visit while the retreat looks amazing; I’ve been planning to go on one my teacher organises in Granada - coincidentally featured in Richard E Grant’s recent ‘Write Around The World’ series - but circs have too often conspired. I smiled all the way through and did a sun salutation while preparing some roasted veg. For me, personally, the less shopping the better (tricky times ahead so a change of tempo might be needed, anyway). As for your hair: beach not bleach! 🏖🌻🧘🏼

Congratulations on the 50K. I am SO happy I discovered you, Jo!. Years ago, I used to make a yearly visit to a rustic yoga spa that was a 2 hour van drive from NYC. The food was great, the instructors were kind and I slept so well. I tried to maintain that euphoria in the city but as soon as I got out of the van...well, you know. Thank you so much, Jo!

DearJo, I can hear in your voice how happy this retreat has made you and the bliss that comes with it. A year ago, during summer, I just felt lifeless and stifled and that day I took my swimming gear, (flippers, goggles, swim cap and little board) and just went to our gorgeous outdoor 50 m pool on our estate here in The Western Cape in Paarl, South - Africa and got into the water and swam!!!!!!!! Sometimes above water other times underneath. And it became my total relaxation and stressfree meditation. I am a different person since then. In winter, I swim in a heated pool and it is just as nice and stressfree for me. At 55 I realised WATERis my thing. My highblood pressure has gone down and I have long breath enough to really swim sometimes without my little board. So actually, in short, I just want to tell you and share with you that I understand your happy and calmness Jo. Thank you for sharing this with us also my dear.

I loved the Boots store. I visited one when I went to England ten years ago. My daughter’s husband had a two year assignment, and they lived in Leamington Spa. We had such a “lovely” time visiting them while they lived there. I bought some products from the store and enjoyed using them.

One goal down, shall we aim for 75,000? I know you can do it. That yoga retreat looks so exotic and relaxing. I think we all reevaluate our lives when we go on a vacation or to a place that makes us reflective. It's like New Years Eve when we promise ourselves to change and then a month later all our intentions fall by the wayside. The Boots house would be my house of dreams. Nottingham looks very expensive and dreamy. I'm sure Anna is reinforcing all of Myrtle's training that you will have to make sure you continue when home. You have a lovely group of women friends and it's fun to see you all together.

Boots was only in Canada for a short time. I worked for Boots from 1981-1989 when another pharmacy chain took over. I really enjoyed working in cosmetics for Boots.
