Can we have some empathy for Matthew McGreevy please? He's the real victim in all of this. It's not got anything to do with Schofield’s sexuality, it's got everything to do with him grooming a young lad. If he had had an affair with a young girl, the same age as his daughter, who he'd known since being 10 years old, then ended up having a sexual relationship with her once she became "legal", we'd feel exactly the same. It was a clear abuse of power. It has been reported that Matthew was paid a very large sum of money to sign an NDA, I would call that coercive control. That is why he hasn't come forward to tell his side of the story, he's been silenced, so we're only hearing one side, Schofield's self indulgent pity party. I was expecting to hear an apology to the young man and his family, as well as to P’s own family, for what he put them all through. I was expecting to hear him say he wished to god he hadn’t done it. At 36 he met the lad who was 12, he groomed until he was of age (i highly doubt the age thing myself) used him and threw him aside. That lads life is ruined. He admitted that he knew his brother had molested a child but warned him not to do it again and did not report it to the police, thereby protecting him. That's not perverting the course of justice since it's not illegal in the UK to not report a crime, but he did know his brother was a child molester and chose not to report it.

I have never been a Schofield fan! Frankly, I don't think his actions were illegal or immoral, but they were unwise. It certainly cannot not been seen as an objective discussion.
