I also know that "your pathetic" should be written "you're pathetic" although maybe being educated makes me a narcissist too.
What makes me angry is that this man has support in his life (daughters, ex wive who was actually lied to) and now he uses mental health to say he deserves to be in tv again. Nooooo, why should you lie, get away with it and deny younger people of their chance at fame? Bow out gracefully or accept responsibility for your own lying.
Hell no I don't feel sorry for him. He broke the rules, and brought the whole stack of cards down on his own head. Do I now want to hear his self indulgent bleating? I wanted to hear his side of the story, because the media did beat him up metaphorically speaking, but it was just a diatribe of blaming others for his shortcomings.
He did not protect his brother in any way & had he done he would have been arrested for withholding information or perverting the course of justice he hasn't disowned his brother because he covered up for him, we must get facts right here
He did not immediately report his brother to the police, which he should of done regardless if its his brother or not. That in theory is probably one of many reasons why Phil and Holly didn't get on as much off camera in their final days of being on This Morning. He should of confided in Holly as soon as he found out what his brother had admitted, that is what true friends do.
@@caroleoneill2872 He did protect his brother. Read his statement to Exeter Crown Court. I was expecting some self reflection on why he did it, and how he new it was wrong (but not illegal) But all I heard was a lot of self pity.
“Compelling tv “..?! Seriously. If he’s the best uk broadcaster give up ! He’s tv presenter. Very average. Full of self pity. Surrounding himself with people telling him it was ok to befriend a 15 years old boy. And then have a relationship with him a few yrs later .
Mr. Scofield never groomed anyone & the young man who is now 28 is getting on with his life in private so he is not hounded out of his job because the press wants a story, they won't get one he has nothing to say. They are still friends by the way

This man is a dangerous narcissist who befriended a young boy and ended up sleeping with him. He deserves no sympathy and should never, ever be allowed radio or tv air time again. A thoroughly despicable little man.
NOT A CRIME ??? He GROOMED a young boy for god sake, and that IS a CRIME in itself, then later he LIED to everyone when he was found to be having a relationship with the young Mathew , it was abuse of power. How must his wife have felt when it all came out. What about poor Mathew Mcgreevy ? But no, it’s all about poor Philip . He didn’t care how some of his morning guests felt when they were being interviewed by him, he sat and sneered at them while feeling smug . You can’t now decide to forget about that. And incidentally, anyone who is intent on taking their own life will not tell anyone, they just do it, but to tell your own daughters that that’s what you’re planning is utterly selfish and cruel. He needs to get on with it like everyone else and accept responsibility. That’s the advice I’ve heard him give to some he’s interviewed and if it’s good enough for them, then it’s good enough for him.
The thing is, Phillip could have humbled himself and accepted responsibility for his actions but he chose to deflect, play the victim, blame everyone else and be a narcissistic fool. Don’t feel sorry for him at all. I actually feel sorry for Holly Willoughby because she’s the one who ended up paying for his bullshit.
Amy in London people needed the truth not him playing to the camera. His wife app' has been aware of his sexuality. He said on his wedding day he was doubtful but they were goid friends. This isnt about his sexuality its about the involvement if a child who has been silenced.
He thought he was in a drama. Watched too much of Tom Hank's Castaway. I believe some was plotted prior to going in . He was alfo spent time doing different camera shots and playing two parts . So was not natural. Plenty was dramatised and used in editing
Mental health is horrific however Philip can afford the best mental health treatment you can have! Don't narcassist always play the victim when they get caught out???? 😢

Amazing that people put there arms around him & said how brave he was to come out but had it been a very young woman he was having an affair with he would have been labelled a vile love rat & a dirty cheat!

I can’t understand why people are defending the likes of him and also the likes of JS and RH.
The young boy involved, hardly gets a mention. He is the victim here, not Schofield. Whenever Schofield Briefly mentions the boy, in his first interview, for instance after this scandel emerged, he dimisses him as just "a fling". Charming, what a way to talk about somebody, he obviously does not care about him or his feelings. What an awful man Schofield is and the one I feel sorry for is the young, impressionable boy who got mixed up with him. What about his life now? How is he? Very sad. This programme by Vine is transmitted on Channel 5, the same channel that transmits this Castaway programe. So this is just a promotion for the this programme, wrapped up as a "serious" discussion, but with plenty of sympathy for Schofield thrown in. It certainly cannot not been seen as an objective discussion.

that phrase 'from what i hear' speaks volumes yet you are making this comment as if you have first hand knowledge. I find it amazing that he worked in television for 40 years and only now are these personality traits being mentioned.
My opinion of him was low, but his lack of self awareness, and victim mentality had lowered it even more. I might have a shred of respect for him if he actually took some accountability.
She obs wants to live like she has. Maybe she is knew he was gay and in the closet. His daughter is his the manager who kept getting interview. He's paying her to promote his career.
Jeremy Vine is giving me the creeps more and more....this isn't just about "an affair",stop misrepresenting what hes done.If he had of had "an affair"with a man of a simialr age to himself that he met in some bar or thorugh work or whatever but it was a boy he met,who he got work and then started "this affair",the age gap,the status gap and everything about it is not a normal "affair". Honestly I cannot believe Jeremy Vines excuses for him and talking about how being gay is still difficult in this day and age...well yes in some places in the UK and industries but we are talking TV which is full of openly gay men and even then if he struggled with it,it still does not excuse his behaviour. It wasn't just an "affair" !!!!! the man is a narcissist and egomaniac and that came across on that programme. It was an abuse of power !!!!! end of. This is not about homophobia,as said if this had happened with a young woman who he met as a girl at school and kept in touch and got her a job then started "an affair"then it would be seen the same,an abuse of power and grooming !!!!
He did not groom him let's get that right this relationship was legal & consenting Matt told his lawyer this right from the start of the relationship whilst Philip met him at 15 there was little or no contact from that first meeting so where does the grooming come in to as he never once met up with him There were no romantic meals out gifts holidays nothing just a few messages on social media about careers in television that is all so at best like you say abuse of power but not a crime He did lie but affairs are based on them & this has been blown out of all proportion
I don't feel sorry for him, however I don't like the double standards. Not so long ago Bill Wyman sat being interviewed on TV with his girlfriend who he started dating when she was 13 and he was 47 and nothing was said then, and for the many other older men or women who have had and still have younger partners, and the many who cheat and still are cheating.
It amazes me how easily manipulated people can be. Crying on telly can do wonders for your career, it seems. And as far as the homophobia Phil and Jeremy agree played apart in his cancellation, well to me homophobia is playing a part in trivialising how badly he treated the young man he abused his power to pick up, use, and then drop like a hot potato when things went off the boil. Plenty of new talent who can conduct themselves professionally. ‘Scofe’ has had a good career and only he is responsible for his downfall. Time he moved along.
How would it be different if it was a girl ????? In the 1970s maybe, but ZERO way today. If Schofield, who lied to his WIFE and family about being gay BTW, was straight (and aged 55) and became friendly with a 15 year old runner on the same show as his and started dating her a few years later and denied to his bosses he was having that affair and was then later found out, you REALLY think he wouldn't have been pushed out of his job too ? Give me a break.
Absolutely have no sympathy for him i feel sorry for the young boys he groomed. I think a lot more would have come out if he hadnt lawyered up to shut people up and shut down the story
I dont feel sorry for Phil , he groomed a young boy got him a job showed his off on THIS MORNING during a Christmas episode. The moral of the story is dont think you have good friends because when it comes to YOU or themselves they Win ! Hes made his money he can retire and still has a lovely ex wife and devoted daughters.
Hes left himself wide open for criticism, everyone makes mistakes, so I think it would have sit better if he just settled himself to retire away from TV. I dont want to say anything negative about him, he did what he did, but does that mean he has to be slagged off for ever.
I watched about 20 minutes of this garbage and realised all the thing really was, is Phillip Schofield trying to justify himself and come across as "The Good Guy". Phill, Pst! It didn't work.

But every person (generally speaking, which covers a lot of law abiding citizens) while alive. They as humans deserve a chance.

No. I don’t feel sorry for a groomer.
He is not a groomer & never has been its unfair he has been treated like this anyway it was a good program can't wait to see the last episode
@@caroleoneill2872 He groomed Matthew McGreevy when he was underage. Phillip did all of this damage to himself. You probably feel sorry for Huw Edwards, too.
@@sanfordcurtis8242 that's not grooming,they didn't have a relationship till he was 19/20.
@Nick-q8k maybe he was in it for the long game.
@@melgrant7404 maybe your cat needs better sources of information
Don’t forget how he gatecrashed the queens coffin viewing 😪
At 36 he met the lad who was 12, he groomed until he was of age (i highly doubt the age thing myself) used him and threw him aside. That lads life is ruined. Scholfield is definitely a predator, all be it a clever one, and he should never be in a position of power again. Neither should he have his behaviour normalised or rewarded by being on our screens.
I don't come here often, what when I do, you always seem to falling over yourselves to justify child s£x predators, excusing their behaviour and dimishing the suffering of the children involved. It's simply bizarre, last time it was poor huw, now poor Scholfield. What's wrong with you people? Are you in the club.
He was 15 or 16 when they met and they began a relationship when the guy was about 23/24
A sex scandal is not the same as being a child sex predator. Problematic behaviour is not the same as criminal behaviour
Well said.
They met earlier
Don't attempt to compare the two it's totally different
No not at all,,he is a liar,,,thought he was untouchable like a lot of these Celebrities,,
Can't we just leave him there " without" a camera .
So he said hes done nothing illegal, but he LIED for years and years and years!!! 😡😡😡
Not at all. He thinks he's the victim
Narcissist are always the victim!
Hes a victim to bullying by narcissistic people who have never made a mistake in there lives no he doesn't deserve to be completely destroyed driving someone to have suicidal thoughts your pathic and I bet you're the type of narcissistic people to say be kind and yet your treating Philip Schofield like this they were consenting adults
@@christinamcilwaine350 So anyone who doesn't feel sorry for him is automatically a narcissist then? What a strange thing to say. I feel sorry for the kids in war-torn countries and people who have no food to eat, rather than multi-millionaire celebrities who lie to their wives and prey on barely legal youngsters.
I also know that "your pathetic" should be written "you're pathetic" although maybe being educated makes me a narcissist too.
@@christinamcilwaine350I don’t know about you, but when I was suicidal, I didn’t have my own show to tell the whole world.
He was trashed by media to within an inch of his life, but maybe if people (i.e. him), stopped and thought about the full consequences of doing something terribly unwise, it wouldn't have happened. I can't understand how Jeremy found the program 'compelling'. It was nauseating. I wanted to hear his side of the story, because the media did beat him up metaphorically speaking, but it was just a diatribe of blaming others for his shortcomings.
He acts like a school kid who doesn't get his way
You hit the nail on the head yuk
Are people forgetting that he admitted that he knew his brother was a pedo and protected him?
He admitted that he knew his brother had molested a child but warned him not to do it again and did not report it to the police, thereby protecting him. That's not perverting the course of justice since it's not illegal in the UK to not report a crime, but he did know his brother was a child molester and chose not to report it.
Total narcissist and totally inauthentic person
No way do I feel sorry for him, it is all self pity. He lied and his family had to go through this as well, not just him. What about the young man who was pulled into this and taken advantage of. Nothing has been said about him, he was the victim and he is the one who I feel sorry for.
Won’t somebody think about the poor island? Just minding its own business and getting dirty PDF file groomer on its shores, without consent? Poor island. 🏝️
Stupid comment
Vine must be a close friend of schofield.
Why is Philip not allowed friends now what did he do that is so wrong no arrest or charges have been bought against him people need to move on from all this nothing illegal happened that is the end of it
He is grim and slimey. Everything is everyone's fault not his obviously!!! How could he be responsible for his own actions 😂😂
I was expecting to hear an apology to the young man and his family, as well as to P’s own family, for what he put them all through.
I was expecting to hear him say he wished to god he hadn’t done it.
I was expecting some self reflection on why he did it, and how he new it was wrong (but not illegal)
But all I heard was a lot of self pity.
Real Philip schofield ? - seems like a bloody brilliant act all these years
“Compelling tv “..?! Seriously. If he’s the best uk broadcaster give up ! He’s tv presenter. Very average. Full of self pity. Surrounding himself with people telling him it was ok to befriend a 15 years old boy. And then have a relationship with him a few yrs later .
Never in a million years would I feel sorry for him or others like him they know what they are doing is wrong
Mr. Schofield called what he did a MISTAKE. This one word speaks volumes….I believe he not only groomed this young but he has ruined his life….🤬🤯😡
Mr. Scofield never groomed anyone & the young man who is now 28 is getting on with his life in private so he is not hounded out of his job because the press wants a story, they won't get one he has nothing to say. They are still friends by the way
Jeremy Vine ....... scrapping the barrel....... how about talking about REAL NEWS
Behave. Vine is an appalling TV presenter, radio DJ and so called journalist. If this is the sort of shite that is relevant to day time TV viewers, no wonder the country is in the mess it is!
No...he wants to get back on TV...loves himself and is fame hungry..
Not as much as he feels sorry for himself! 😂😂😂
This man is a dangerous narcissist who befriended a young boy and ended up sleeping with him. He deserves no sympathy and should never, ever be allowed radio or tv air time again. A thoroughly despicable little man.
hes a sociopath, listen to him trying to evoke sympathy in the documentary.
The sod or description narcissist is much overused…..in this instance though it couldn’t be more apt.
The term not sod!
His wife just thinks about the money and the daughters
The thing is, Phillip could have humbled himself and accepted responsibility for his actions but he chose to deflect, play the victim, blame everyone else and be a narcissistic fool. Don’t feel sorry for him at all. I actually feel sorry for Holly Willoughby because she’s the one who ended up paying for his bullshit.
Amy in London people needed the truth not him playing to the camera. His wife app' has been aware of his sexuality. He said on his wedding day he was doubtful but they were goid friends. This isnt about his sexuality its about the involvement if a child who has been silenced.
These people are so out of touch he groomed that young man its disgusting he only regrets it because he was caught no sympathy 😡
He thought he was in a drama. Watched too much of Tom Hank's Castaway. I believe some was plotted prior to going in . He was alfo spent time doing different camera shots and playing two parts . So was not natural. Plenty was dramatised and used in editing
It's all about Philip
Mental health is horrific however Philip can afford the best mental health treatment you can have! Don't narcassist always play the victim when they get caught out???? 😢
He did not get caught out he was sacked because of the media coverage over his brother then the rumor about this relationship with another adult MM was 20 not a child His mental health has been affected he has been a victim of hate we don't know exactly what went on He lied he didn't murder anyone
Pure narcissist
Amazing that people put there arms around him & said how brave he was to come out but had it been a very young woman he was having an affair with he would have been labelled a vile love rat & a dirty cheat!
Trying to save himself, watched fifteen minutes of the program switch off.nothing what he said changed my mind what a family ,no i don't feel sorry for him no come back for you
Nobody is bothered these days about people coming out gay ! That's not the problem ! The problem is he as come out gay and admitted to grooming a boy then at legal age gets into a relationship look he is a dirty man end of the day and he shouldn't be getting any sympathy or more time on TV
Feel more sorry for the idiots that got sucked into the witch hunt against him, with there constant two add two equals five rubbish. 😊
The thing is 9 times out of 10 when people get caught they get caught for that particular incident but as with criminals theres many many other incidents that dont ever come to light, its nearly always the tip of the iceberg.
I could see it in him for years
@@adammooney3058 yes I thought the same way too, especially when he was presenting kids programmes, that hateful grin stirred me up no end, the cat was getting the cream, piece of sh..t
I have never been a Schofield fan! Frankly, I don't think his actions were illegal or immoral, but they were unwise. When a person is contemplating suicide nobody should be pushing them towards finalising the deed. I don't think he has been treated well. I believe his homosexuality is the reason for the furore. His family support him so enough said.
I think it’s the pressure of social media commentators and left leaning cancel culture tv that cancels people like schofiled due to commercial tv pressures. Odd when he has not been committed a crime. The lady talks about cancel culture but she is part of it. Nobody deserves to be ruined for things they have accepted.
Most normal people don’t talk about suicide they just do it, and that is why family and friends are so shocked. But not this narcissistic man, he is full of wow is me and self self self.
When he came out he had loads of support.
Holly must have known about the runner, it was all over social media for four years even with a video of them in a restaurant together, and she didn't know?
They were having lunch Matt had been to the ITV studios that day this video was taken in 2015 by Jack Jones Matt is 28 now so he would have been 19 didnt know it was a crime to go for lunch
With Labour to worry about I don’t have any energy left to worry about a nonentity like Schofield
Pull what off ? NO kids on that island !
I’m sure it’s very cathartic for him but it’s very very sad but he only has himself to blame..destroying his career, his marriage, family and that boy and his family…act in haste, repent at leisure just like that Huw…he should never have been so stupid behaving in a very ill-advised way in the workplace raising loads of safeguarding issues..its a warning to all of us to keep to our boundaries and keep within the law 👍👍
No matter what he does he will be wrong 🙄 unwise but not illegal. Get over it.

He groomed a child, there is video evidence of this on UA-cam. He can clearly be seen in a restaurant with him when the lad was approximately 12/13, and it’s the same person that he had an affair with when he was a runner on ITV This Morning, and why did he pay the young man hush money not to publish his story.
The young boy is now a man he is 28 Matt never wanted this all to come out anyway when this scandal broke, he lost his job & home so lawyers for Philip assisted Matt with finance so he can live anywhere he wants away from the press who have continually hounded him for a story there is NO story why would either of them want to discuss their legal & consenting relationship. Matt never complained about Philip nor has Matt's parents if fact Matt is still friends with Philip, they have never fallen out through all of this There is no victim because he wasn't groomed Matt told the lawyer the relationship was consensual from the outset that is it nothing to see here or say
@@caroleoneill2872 Seeing as you are such an expert on all this, please explain. Basically, you are saying Schofield paid him off, after ruining his life? Schofield is creep and one wonders how many others he has treated in the same way, pray tell us Ms "expert". What relationship is it that you have with Schofield, I am intrigued to know? Stop feeling sorry for yourself your a rich man think of all the people who are suffering and in need and pain and you poor mother and wife and family you know what you did lies and betrayed
He is not a nice man from what I hear colleagues & had a superiority complex at This Morning. Why is this not discussed also?😮
that phrase 'from what i hear' speaks volumes yet you are making this comment as if you have first hand knowledge. I find it amazing that he worked in television for 40 years and only now are these personality traits being mentioned.
He'll be blaming Wilson, his volleyball best mate, next... "I'm sorry, Wilson!" .
My opinion of him was low, but his lack of self awareness, and victim mentality had lowered it even more. I might have a shred of respect for him if he actually took some accountability.
I cannot believe his wife is still married to him and stood by him. When will she start her own life 🤷♀️
She obs wants to live like she has.
Hopefully, Channel 5 just left him there...with a Fed Ex box of signed Holly Willoughby photos!
How do we know if he had his brother around her kids?? As they were all family friends . Holly & Dan know the truth

It's all me me me!! Leave him on the island
" one if the greatest live TV presenters this country has seen". Hahahahahaha
Jeremy Vine is trying to lessen the actions of Schofield. What effect did his actions have on the younger man?
Nope I think he come across rather desperate
Absolutely have no sympathy for him i feel sorry for the young boys he groomed. I think a lot more would have come out if he hadnt lawyered up to shut people up and shut down the story

I dont feel sorry for Phil , he groomed a young boy got him a job showed his off on THIS MORNING during a Christmas episode. However , he is sorry hes said his bit and yes Holly the Pixie or Witch did throw him under the bus 🚌 and others .
I don't understand as an outsider. Not living in Britain. Why it is complicated. Just follow the moral code of humans and give another chance. Be aware second time round or whatever round it is. But every person (generally speaking, which covers a lot of law abiding citizens) while alive. They as humans deserve a chance.
I had no real opinion to speak of prior to watching this and now regard him as a bitter, entitled victim.
This really was an indulgent attempt at sympathy.
I feel sorry for him. Don’t care what anyone says. People have done worse and not been sorry. He is sorry and has paid the consequences. What the fuq else does anyone except? Truly humans are just awful
