I guess no one is mentioning how good this interviewer is, the way he was just shutting down Philip whenever he went down the emotional road, he would jab him with another intrusive question to psychologically break him down. I know it’s his job, but he’s great at it!
A friend of mine who at the time was at University studying media and journalism asked Phillip if she could do a work placement at This Morning and he said no. She was an outstanding student who now has a very successful media career, Phil told her that work placement choices were nothing to do with him. Her tutor gave her PS’s contact details because Phil had helped several other students from the same university course get work experience before. The only difference in her case was that all of the interns that Phillip had helped previously were young men. Strangely enough a few weeks later a young man doing the same course contacted Phillip and he was only too happy to pull some strings to get him a work experience slot after requesting a picture of the student. My friend who now knows people who work behind the scenes at TM was told that PS has had a string of young male student interns. Many of which were specifically engaged as PS’s personal assistants and their duties extended outside of the This Morning workplace. All had to sign NDA’s.

I don't necessarily want to defend him as it is murky territory, but I think regardless of what you've done, all that matters is what the press think you've done. They painted a picture of the relationship as though it were scandalous or illegal despite the fact that (allegedly) nothing occurred when his partner was underage. Now, there have been many allegations that Schofield was very unpleasant towards a handful of people who worked or were interviewed on the programme, and people have said the same thing about Holly Willoughby, one such example being a comment on another video about this scandal where a person said that they knew a girl who was often bullied by Holly when they were teenagers. Now I'm not saying that this is 100% true, but it is very believable considering how many people have came out and said that these two were very unpleasant and obnoxious with others, such as Eamon Holmes or Kim Woodburn. But to be fair, although Schofield has had an affair, which he should never have done, at least the man he did it with was, yes a lot younger, but also over the age of consent. I am a university dropout. I almost graduated, but I got sick and had to stop. It's hard to find a job as a dropout. But eventually I did get a job. Some of my new colleagues got wind of the dropout thing and protested to my boss until I was fired in the first 4 weeks. In the 4 weeks I worked there, my job got 2 new clients (they expected me to get 4 new clients a year). After I was fired, they hired a man who is the nephew of one of the employees who protested the most. He has no degree nor has he ever worked in this type of job before. Getting someone a job because they're a family member or a lover has an impact on other people, too.

The victim will say its consensual. They are made to feel special. The reality is often very different. People can be groomed at any age. Whatever the truth he did abuse his position and there was a power differential between these individuals. Clearly this affected the young man as he seems to have abandoned his dreams and now works in a pub in the countryside.

LP came back onto the programme a few years later and that's when they started to get to know each other. He had been in a 2 year relationship which had just ended. So he wasn't completely naive.

A friend of mine who at the time was at University studying media and journalism asked Phillip if she could do a work placement at This Morning and he said no. She was an outstanding student who now has a very successful media career, Phil told her that work placement choices were nothing to do with him. Her tutor gave her PS’s contact details because Phil had helped several other students from the same university course get work experience before. The only difference in her case was that all of the interns that Phillip had helped previously were young men. Strangely enough a few weeks later a young man doing the same course contacted Phillip and he was only too happy to pull some strings to get him a work experience slot after requesting a picture of the student. My friend who now knows people who work behind the scenes at TM was told that PS has had a string of young male student interns. Many of which were specifically engaged as PS’s personal assistants and their duties extended outside of the This Morning workplace. All had to sign NDA’s.

Now, there have been many allegations that Schofield was very unpleasant towards a handful of people who worked or were interviewed on the programme, and people have said the same thing about Holly Willoughby, one such example being a comment on another video about this scandal where a person said that they knew a girl who was often bullied by Holly when they were teenagers. Now I'm not saying that this is 100% true, but it is very believable considering how many people have came out and said that these two were very unpleasant and obnoxious with others, such as Eamon Holmes or Kim Woodburn.
But to be fair, although Schofield has had an affair, which he should never have done, at least the man he did it with was, yes a lot younger, but also over the age of consent. Of course, they met when he was still a young boy, yes, and when you look at it that way it's very creepy, but it's not like he's the next Savile, is it?

I am a university dropout. I almost graduated, but I got sick and had to stop. It's hard to find a job as a dropout. But eventually I did get a job. @Jamie Saunders that's not quite right. It is building a relationship of trust and some kind of emotional connection. This is in order to abuse or manipulate them later on. The victim will say its consensual. They are made to feel special. The reality is often very different. People can be groomed at any age. Whatever the truth he did abuse his position and there was a power differential between these individuals. Clearly this affected the young man as he seems to have abandoned his dreams and now works in a pub in the countryside.
